  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

They need to validate your payment source, it sometimes takes a while. I sympathize, but at the same time I'm inclined to believe most major retailers worth their megabits would do the same for a fresh registered customer.

I agree, but when they say the maximum time taken is 48 hours, and I don't have an answer in 48 hours, it's rather irritating that they wouldn't say anything. So, when the C.S. rep then says it could take ANOTHER 1-2 days to get an answer to something that should take 10 minutes, it sucks.

Anyway, they ended up canceling the order, saying my billing information didn't match the bank's. I'm not sure why, since it's never happened when I've ordered other things online, but it doesn't matter.

I think that the issue was that I entered my debit card as a credit card. The only reason I did was because they were going to force me to create some stupid Visa Checkout account to do it as a debit card, and I didn't care to bother with that at the time.

Update MW2:
Pretty much every lobby outside of Mercenary TDM is hacked. The most popular hack seems to be gaining 2 million+ points for a single kill, thus ending the game instantly.
Anyone know how W@W is?

That actually sounds kind of amusing if you mixed it with whatever game added the throwing knives. I remember seeing videos when that one came out of people just chucking their knives in the air at the start of a match and nailing someone.

It's hard to get COD players to work together in general, so coordinating something like that would be as/more difficult than converting Phil Fish into an adult with moral values.

W@W is worse. I think I got in one regular lobby out of about 7 I tried toget into.

Flying and speed seems to be the predominate hack
 
Do Pinball Fx 2 leaderboards reset weekly? Is there a way to see total? I'm trying to stay ahead of a friend. He messages me saying he beat my score or 34 million. Problem is, my actual high score is 227 million. Checking leaderboards now, I only have 85,000.
 
I don't know how many FIFA FUT players are here, but EA are finally taking a proper step against the players cheating the system. This is probably the best news I could've heard for this game, and now I actually may get the game considering how broken FUT on FIFA 14 has become. 

Best possible punishments.

I believe they have weekly and all-time leaderboards, so you may be looking at the weekly leaderboard instead.

 
Wish MS would do things like the Flash sales that Sony has. The weekly sales have some decent buys but rarely the kind of big discounts in the PS flash sales (like a whole bunch of $.99 arcade games or like this week's $9.99 on retail downloadable titles).

I know. I know....grass is always greener on the other side. (Or maybe the grass is always greener for Microsoft's bottom line ;) )

Too bad coin sellers and AB already destroyed FUT14 market, they should've acted faster.

FUT12 was good thanks to bid tokens, FUT13 had a few AB but not that much, but FUT14 was broken as hell. How long did they keep the broken search feature? Like 3 months?

It's a pain to play FUT14 right now. There's players with their whole team made up of in-forms and WC players. I think the search feature was there for a while before all the complaining finally led them to fix it.

I'm assuming it's through the EA/Origin account that is automatically made and I do hope it works. I think a lot of these cheaters might stop if their EA Account is banned from FIFA, or worse, any EA Online game.

LOL nope. If you played FUT, especially this year's one, you'd realize how appropriate this punishment is. I only wish they did this earlier so FUT14 didn't suck so bad.

Length of Ryse is pretty much only thing holding me back, I'll probably wait until it drops to $10 or so in price.

Any suggestions on Xbox One games?  I'm contemplating Watch Dogs and Garden Warfare right now, or either hold off on those and just crave in to the Madden hype like I usually do every year.

 
Ryse is pretty long if you aren't playing on easy, but doesn't have much replay value. Online is fun for awhile. Watch Dogs and Garden Warfare are really fun, but GW has a chance to be GWG next month or be added to EA Access by the end of the year. If you have EA Access, you can try the new Madden for 6 hours to see if you like it.

I got it for like $7 and want to play it so I can trade it for (hopefully) at least $20 come Monday. So for me that it's only a few hours isn't a bad thing.

Garden Warfare is great if you want a shooter that's not your standard CoD Man Shoot.

Edit- Well that's weird, I'm getting cheevos but they're not popping up. It's not nearly as satisfying without that little sound.

How does it compare to the original PvZ?  Is it just a 3D version of the game or some type of tower defense game?

 
If it's anything like Team Fortress, then more than likely I won't enjoy the gameplay.

Hopefully there's a demo at least so I can judge fully then.

I disagree very much. It's pacing is very similar to TF2, meatier weapons and heavier feeling gameplay than most modern shooters, characters that can survive three shots, a lot of customization, classes with unique abilities and play styles, and both come together in a way that make the game accessible to all while still rewarding skill. It's not TF2 exactly but there's a lot of it in there and it's the closest thing I've been able to come up with since the game came out. Not to mention that PopCap and Valve have had a pretty good relationship and there's probably more than a little love for TF2 there.

Same thing was happening to me last night when I was playing Crimson Dragon, had a few unlock but I thought they glitched because it never popped up.

While the modes are different, Garden Warfare has a bit of the same vibe that Mass effect 3 multi had. That is a good thing.

Well, I'm getting one not as much because of buying new games as because of needing space to store the shit I already bought/got through GwG.

Shuffling around a bunch of USB sticks in addition to my 250GB HDD is a lot more hassle than just getting the 500GB one.

@snakey: metro ll redux also had its page pulled from Xbox.com Maybe they don't want to risk someone finding a way to buy them for $200 each?

Maybe old TF2. It has changed a lot over the past few years. There is a lot of MLP now. So much MLP. I don't think you even fight anymore. Just look at MLP spray paints and skins the whole time. MLP porn is also pretty common in TF2.
