  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

You also get Killer Instinct 2 with online multiplayer I believe. Same price as season 1 with about the same amount of content (I'd argue online mp for KI2 adds a little extra value though), but a discount (even just $5) for people that bought season 1 would have been nice. All season 1 characters are being rebalanced, so even without paying anything you'll still get some upgrades.

They are releasing a disc for season 1 and might do the same with season 2 if you want to wait. I can't and will be buying season 2 ($20) as soon as it is available. I'm thinking of the $40 version as $20 for 8 characters, $10 for KI 2, $10 for costumes. Not bad, but I don't want the costumes.

Are you guys able to even compete on this game?

I tried to play against CPU on Noob level and got my ass handed to me every single time.  I'm like 0-4 so far.

 
Well I got Halo Reach for doing some beta test for MS so I do not need that game but I do not have the other 2 yet...not like I have time to play them anyway.

EDIT: I should have mentioned this earlier, stick with one character. If you aren't sure which one you want to use, try a random one for 50-100 matches before switching to the next character. There will probably be one or two that you really like. Pick one of those to continue playing with. Expect to lose a lot when first starting, especially in ranked matches.

I'm going for the achievements that require playing 200 matches with each character. I'm only playing ranked matches. I usually get up to level 8 or 9, then drop to 2 or 3 when switching characters. Think I have 3 characters left after Glacius (Jago, Sabrewulf, and Thunder). I'm at about 175 matches played with Glacis. I feel like an asshole when I play with him because he is a zoning character, so I probably won't main him when I finish getting the achievements (if season 2+ characters each have achievement for 200 matches, I may never pick a main). I tried helping my opponents a little bit by using the title "Don't Jump, I own the sky", but they usually keep jumping and I just have to anti-air them non-stop.

I think it still works for PS3 PSN, but not for PS4, 360, or X1. Like saying a pile of dog shit outside my house isn't free because I pay taxes to live in this country.

At any rate, I'm not a Bing Prospector so the only things I've ever redeemed on Bing are for useless sweepstakes entries, so the timetable isn't something I'm particularly aware of. I have had experience with XBL codes however so I answered to the best of my ability there.

Soo has anyone that picked up Soul Calibur 5 finished the Story Mode? I kinda had a little anger problem on Ch.20 and threw my Xbox headset to the floor and it broke in half. Seriously that fight is rediculously hard. I've tried like 30 times and the most I get is one round victory and then I get destroyed.

Also Nightmare is a pain in the ass to beat as well.

I haven't played 5 but SCIV had a bunch of gimmicky fights, though I think they were in the challenge ladder. Things like the AI has ridiculous armor but throws do more damage. Try different things, there is always a way to beat it.

 
Anybody know if the Mafia 2 GoD is compatible with the Mafia 2 platinum hits DLC disc? I ask because the first DLC isn't on the marketplace and I hate not being able to play everything in a game.

Any of you use a generic 500gb hard drive from amazon in your 360? Any problems?? They are half the price of the Microsoft one and I don't have any original xbox games to play so that's not an issue.

My 250 gb is beyond full and it was a generic drive too...

I've got 2 of them, they work just fine. If you really wanted the partition to play select OG Xbox games, there are methods for that on Google. Much easier (and cheaper) than multiple flash drives lying around.

yep, I played through story with a group of my friends, we took turns throwing the controller against the floor. That being said I did not like story mode, not the difficulty so much as the lack of being able to choose your character....or when they choose for you barely deviating.

Thanks for this. I was considering it but after getting pissed at NCAA 14 last night I don't want another frustrating game.

Oh and TMNT OOTS is not a good buy. It's okay for the kids (though it's a little too hard) but the controls are awful. It's supposed to feel like Batman but the button presses are recorded so you hit A a couple times to roll out of the way and you roll then roll again and now you're so far out of position it doesn't matter. I won one battle pounding on the counter button (there were just too many of them) for what felt like 5 minutes...I had to switch hands due to the cramping.

Game had potential. Controls are broken. I charged at one enemy and hit attack and just ran right through him. It was like the game hadn't processed my arrival yet so it hadn't "activated" the enemy so he was still just a sprite in the distance.

Yeah I think if they had let you pick your own character It would have been easier. I can't play as Z.W.E.I or Patroklos and they have the two hardest fights in story mode.

Ok here are my results so far

Avi-slightly choppy playback on long camera pans, not unwatchable but not great for the movie I was testing - Electra Glide in Blue, clip is probably at least 5 years old

Mkv- 1 out of 2 worked. One got an error message, other played great-1080p copy of Temple of Doom.

MP4-1 out of 1 tested worked fine. Used a tv show that was only a week old.

So I'll probably still need to use the 360 to play some files, but any Mkv support is pretty cool.

NOPE. They still don't even have that online stock market that they also promised at launch either.

You still don't have access to all the clothing that is available in the single player too.

Since it appears to have been released early, I hope there will be improvements by next update.

Last mention was "release in early summer" I think. Obviously that's dead. I'm half expecting it to be pushed back to the next-gen release. All hype is gone, and heists isn't going to bring anyone back at this point, especially with the upgraded version of the game on the horizon.

Whenever heists actually come out, it'll be such a disappointment anyways after 2 years of build up.

I bought Soul Calibur 5 when it was on sale for $5 or $3.75 a month or so back. I bought the game for the character creator, really. I beat the story mode on Easy after I lost enough times and the game said "want to play on easy?". The problem is that Alpha Patroklos uses Setsuka's moveset, so if you never used her, or were terrible in SC3&4, you're going to be terrible against Elysium in SC5.

Not being able to choose your character and ratcheting up the AI to 11 for Nightmare and Elysium is rage-inducing as well. ZWEI sucks, too.
