  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

Why?! Why do you do this to me?! Stacking goes on sale but not the DLC.....

I've wanted it for so long but I refuse to pay 5 for it when they put the whole game on sale for 3 bucks before

That's interesting to hear. I played a bit of 1 and liked it, but it didn't really grab me and I kind of just lost track of it. I wasn't going to consider 2 until/if I ever finished 1 first. What's better about 2? Is it worth just skipping 1 for now and going straight to 2?

I haven't played it and I can say no to $20. Darksiders 2 you can find for much cheaper than $20 if you buy physical copy. Darksiders 1 in this sale is at a price much lower than the cheapest physical copies I've seen.

I'm in the opposite side on this matter. I really liked Darksiders 1, the story was fresh and interesting, and the gameplay was fun enough. I was looking forward to Darksiders 2, since you play as Death and the world of the first game was very good.

That said, I didn't like Darksiders 2... at all. The story was underwhelming and disgraced the first one. Also, imo, the world was too big and empty, and felt dull and boring. The characters didn't have any charisma at all, aside of the nightmare that Death rides (the horse, and it does nothing, but it's always great to ride a nightmare).

I loved Darksiders II - none of the reviews for the DLC are that positive though, mostly due to the short length.  Death Rides is easily the worst reviewed and appears to be a collection of side-quests.  I did play Argul's Tomb - it wasn't that memorable (I can't recall what it's about). 

 
Darksiders II is a very solid game, I only wish it was less than this.  You can get it from gamefly on disc as low as $13.  I hadn't heard much about the DLC, so thats a gamble. 

I second the call for opinions on Arcania.  It looks interesting.  But, I mean.......yeah.  So did Risen 2.  :/

 
Ugh. Been waiting aaaages for Stacking but I think I'll have to pass. In general my rule is that nothing worth my time isn't also worth at least $10, but I don't want to jump on that without te dlc on sale. It's too likely to be on GWG in a few months for me to grab it for that much.

(having just been slightly burned by Beautiful Katamari I take dlc a bit more seriously than I used to.)
 
Dang, the last two pages I read Darksiders as Darkstalkers and got all excited but couldn't understand why all the posts didn't make sense. I just had an eye exam last week, too.

 
For those thinking about Darksiders DLC, don't forget the physical copy came with Arguls Tomb, you might have it.
Sucks that Major has started off the new year by not updating the weekly deals. Hopefully we get the two weeks update tomorrow.
 
I am really confused as to why people are seriously considering Darksiders 2 when it has been/can be had cheaper for a physical copy. I payed like $15 for mine last year during Summer and thought the game was really boring.

 
Darksiders 2 is worth a playthrough (not at $20 digital though, $10 retail is about the price I'd recommend paying for it) but I found it far inferior to the original.  Not only is it glitchier and performs worse than the original (and it had some infuriating load times on the PS3 version, including about a 1 second load time every time I entered and exited the menu), it also shoehorned in a completely bland and unnecessary looting system.  Just my two cents.  

 
I just finished Stacking + The Lost Hobo King last week, bought when they were both on sale in 2012, and it was a chore to get through it all. Not that it was difficult, just that it was really boring and not my thing.

Strong recommend to play the trial first. I played the trial back then and didn't really like it then, but bought it anyway because it was so cheap at the time and I thought maybe the more I played it, the more I'd like it. Nope. Oh well. Felt good to complete it and get it off my hard drive.
