  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

The Wolf Among Us is such a great game, too bad its being handled poorly. It took like 5 months? to get episode 2 out and now theres problems with the season pass? Bleh

Agreed. I wish I'd bit on the season pass last month or whenever, but I didn't...I'm sorta glad now, but yeah. I hope maybe it goes on sale again as an apology/gambit to get people to buy it.

The Wolf Among Us is a fantastic game so far, I love the concept. This is the first TellTale game I've ever played and I really had fun with the first episode. It may be more worth it to me to just pay for individual episodes anyhow if their distribution rate is this slow.

Update: Telltale has issued a more comprehensive statement, noting that the issue stems not from the developer but instead from ongoing problems with DLC on the Xbox 360. "We are aware of the issue on XBOX Live Marketplace affecting Season Pass owners of The Wolf Among Us where the user is still prompted to purchase Episode 2 even though they own the Season Pass. There appears to be an issue on XBOX Live affecting multiple titles with DLC offerings and Microsoft is actively working to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and are hopeful it will be resolved soon."

That is curious, because elsewhere I've read about all Xbox 360 users, along with many PS3 users and some Steam users having the same Season Pass issues. While MS might have screwed up something, the pass seems to be dodgy on all platforms, though it is true that only on Xbox 360 it has a 100% fail rate as of now.

 
This happened before with the discounted price not showing up for AC: Liberation HD if you had the season pass. Whoever thought it was a good idea to have the offer ONLY AVAILABLE through a Xbox Dashboard tile needs to jump off the roof of a 10 story building (probably very harsh, sorry).

It may be as simple as some set of server/partner certificates (licenses) not in the right spot or on the right server. And it could take many hours to push out to a large server farm. The company I work for has a few million customers and I have seen first hand our IT guys take out a few hundred thousand customers with a bad certificate.

 
Its not currently on sale but for anyone with an Xbox One I'd suggest keeping an eye open for a sale of Max: The Curse of Brotherhood.  I paid $15 dollars for it and felt it was worth it for that price, but could see it being in one of the next few weeks sales for $10

I would just edit the one to say DELETE POST because I think only admins can delete. It's no worries, just wanted to be sure ya knew so it wasn't the way ya fixed posts in the future :)

Server issues might be complicated, but I hope by tomorrow we get to play the game. This isn't CAG users' case (mostly) since we jumped on the 10$ pass deal, but I especially feel bad for those who bought Ep1 day one along with the Season Pass: those loyal customers are the ones most cheated, becauase the less loyal fans who didn't get the pass and just bought the episode randomly... can already play it and likely finished it too. Also, Telltale says MS is having Marketplace issues and many other games are having such problems, but I yet have to see any other such problem being pointed out. Along with the fact that PS3 and PC does have the same Pass issue for them (though in a more limited fashion), I can totally see this being Telltale's fault. Not that it matters to us, of course, but it's been rather inelegant to rely on Xbox Support for 8-9 hours and then start pointing fingers while giving generic indications on what they're doing. Way I see it, it'd have been more elegant to say sorry and get to work.

As it was pointed out, it is possible MS has its own share of faults too, but it seems that PS3 and PC season passes also seem to be glitchy, though at least not with a 100% fail rate like on X360. That, along with the fact that for 8-9 hours the only thing they did to answer to their mistake was retweeting an Xbox Support tweet saying "they're looking into the issue", sums up that they really handled this situation poorly, and makes me more skeptical regarding their products in the future, with all the save corruptions, broken achievements, now a not working Season Pass... they need to step up their game, pretty crazy how such a well established episodic thing with the same engine and same business model keeps on failing on the same areas, and nearly every launch had some kind of major issue. A sorry would have been better than pointing fingers, surely.

with all the save corruptions, broken achievements, now a not working Season Pass... they need to step up their game, pretty crazy how such a well established episodic thing with the same engine and same business model keeps on failing on the same areas, and nearly every launch had some kind of major issue.

I have the Season Pass on PS3, same with their previous games, and never had an issue with getting the new episode for free.

 
Here's what the issue with the season pass for TWAU appears to be:

When in the in-game store, the game is supposed to read the season pass license file, and apply it toward the purchase, showing the download as "FREE". This isn't happening.

In fact, it doesn't even look like the in-game store is even loading at all. It looks like the episode 2 download button is just redirecting to the default Microsoft game store purchase page for the DLC, bypassing the season pass license file altogether.

Not a huge problem, it only cost me $10 for the whole game anyhow, (Christmas sale). Just a letdown, as I've been wanting to play some more of the game since I tried it in December. Guess a few more hours or days isn't too much to wait after holding on for this long. Just a bit stupid that they had all this time to set things up, and they drop the ball at release.
 
I also own TWAU season pass. Think I will wait some weeks before going in panic mode. We've waited some months to play episode 2, so a little more shouldn't matter while they're working on fixing it. RIGHT?

Oh well, that leaves me with enough free time to finish Dead Space in Impossible with the plasma gun :twoguns: :joystick:

Maybe they were confident that the season pass would work nicely and didn't check if it worked @_@ I don't care as long as they fix it without an extra cost by my side. Perhaps when they fix it, we have to redownload the pass and that's all.

I hope that wasn't the case, (not checking if it worked). I guess they're working on it now, and advising people to check back on their Twitter page hourly for updates.

Meh. Looks like tonight isn't going to be a TWAU night, and is going to instead be a "catch up on Game of Thrones" night.

Yep. It's mind-boggling, really, it even states in the game credits that it's an engine from 2003 - and in fact it's the same engine from older Telltale games as well. Seems incredible they still haven't fixed issues that have been there for so many years - obviously they updated it and all, but sometimes it doesn't show. They can pull off some amazing storylines, but boy, do they need some technical help!

If that's true, (about the game engine being from 2003), I'm thinking they are holding off on upgrading because they must be making a good enough profit off of selling the game built on the old engine.

A good analogy would be an older car: if it still works for getting you from point A to B, why spend more money on a brand new one? Of course, the counterpoint would be that if said car has issues, which keep it from getting you to point B, and requires repairs every time you start a new trip, perhaps it's time to look for a newer car.

I read in an interview somewhere that when asked about PS4/XB versions, a Telltale guy said they'd have to revamp their graphics tools and they probably wouldn't get to that before Summer 2014.

They'll probably start working on it once they've gotten a Game of Thrones and Borderlands episode out.

I was among those believing you to have been murdered by Necro. I mean look at the evidence - you disappear on Halloween and a twisted thread messiah appears bearing the mark of the beast, Necrozilla, meaning giant undead lizard, to take your place.

As for the delay in TWAU season pass, I hope they fix it soon for you guys sake, but I play the games like TV episodes, 1 a week. So I usually start a month before the last episode is released. Hopefully this will be fixed by then or Telltale will have a lot of pissed off fans. Anybody know how they usually do the releases? My only experience with episodes is the Walking Dead season 1 and I got all of those together for that Christmas sale.

I still don't understand why they made standalone episodes. Just mark all of them as free if the users has the pass, just like other games. Why would anyone buy a single episode?

For TWD, it used to be around 2 months per episode but AWAU was episode 1 released in October or November and the new one just cane out. I really do hope they get to fixing this soon

It's already been addressed by the developer. You wont see as long as a gap between the first two episodes, for the rest of the game/story/other episodes.

I'm bad at time, but wasn't that update put out very early morning? I could've sworn I seen that update at around 1am last night meaning hopefully the fix is today.
