This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Honestly really annoyed with the Guitar Hero delistings. I know there's a decent chance I may never play those games again, but I was still willing to go on and buy the things I might want. I go on, and pretty much everythings already been delisted. Like, seriously? If things would've been gone by now, Activision shouldve said so, they said we had til the end of the month. Shouldve known better than to expect decent service from them

What I never understand, when given proper heads-up, people still wait until the last day to buy the things they want. There's multiple ways to make purchases.

Yeah it sucks they were taken down a whole singular day early, but enough gaming outlets, not to mention CAG, covered the delisting that there was plenty of time to make said purchases.

Just a quick notice that Blood Money has a bug where it won't run on Pal-50 if that's how your TV/Xbox is set up. There is a fix to workaround this but you'll need to still have the AV composite cable that came with your Xbox.

Here is a link to the problem and the workaround:

http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/hitman_hd_trilogy/news/hitman_blood_money_50_60hz_problem_not_fixed_for_360_trilogy_release.html

I can confirm that this just is an issue for Bloody Money, the other games in the HD trilogy have no issues with this bug.

In regards to that Square Enix interview, my cautiously optimistic takeaway is that Square Enix will actually still greenlight JRPG games like Bravely Default given their recent successes.  Their sales forecasts and projections for their other games have been ridiculous because of comparisons to blockbuster anomalies like Call of Duty, so it's no real surprise those great expectations would lead to disappointment.  It's not that Hitman, Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs, or Tomb Raider as franchises actually have anything wrong with them, but Square Enix should trust its developers enough to let them find the "fun" in their games.  Sometimes that means letting them take risks like focusing on parts of gameplay that are more niche than mass-appeal.

Now if only we could convince them to give Yasumi Matsuno buckets of money to create whatever game he wanted to.

They started 2 or 3 days early actually. Warriors of Rock stuff got cut first, days ahead of schedule. It's just unprofessional as hell, and I deliberately planned time on Sunday morning/afternoon (the 30th) to go to some GameStops and find some import codes. Because they said the 31st was the last day, and I didn't wanna be stupid and get stuff on the last day, I picked a day earlier. But apparently that's still my fault? The imports couldn't be bought without codes, and some of us had better things to do but thought we still had some time before the 31st even came around. I would have went out on Saturday, but I was fucked up from work on Friday and needed to stay in.

You're not the only one thinking it.

U sonofabitch.
If it makes you feel better, I bought the game at full price and haven't played it much yet myself.

Probably trying to see what the next sales would be to help decide on how much to spend. Some of us are just procrastinators at heart, be it school, work or trying to beat the published deadline of a sale.

If you mean people waiting 'till Monday night, yeah. But honestly, I think most people complaining about it in the thread were waiting 'till Friday/the weekend to purchase and they got fucked. Friday is payday, at least for me, so that has something to do with it too.

This. I'm the same way. Could I have done it earlier? Yes, but according to Activision, I should've been fine doing it today. I'm not going to freak out over it, but at the same time it's highly unprofessional of them. I had heard on here stuff was being delisted early, I just didn't anticipate things being absolutely barren. Same with the time concerns, I could've payed for it earlier, but I wanted to trade stuff in to pick up Microsoft currency, and I've been working a lot so I didn't get around to it til today.

Huh the Hitman HD Pack is als 6,59€ like Blood Money over here...is it worth that price? (I mean bot games are still more expensive than the US prices ($9.09 when convert the € price)
Yeah, both are 6,59 Euros. I did not play Blood Money much and never tried Absolution (only played that pre-order minigame, Sniper Challenge), but 2 and Contracts are great games, especially 2. While Contracts is almost like a "best of" (random memories of Agent 47, many in places you already visited, albeit the missions change completely), 2 has a brilliant (imho) storyline, and most missions have so much freedom for the time. A very well done game that didn't even age bad in my opinion, though I am basing this on PC/PS2 versions, did not try the HD one. Fact is it's currently possible to pick up the whole Hitman saga (besides the first one which, however, isn't even that good) for like 13 Euros, something I'll definitely do at this point.

Another month, another 2 games I own. I love Hitman and bought it at launch to support the franchise. It was the same with Tomb Raider. I don't really have any regrets. For people who aren't really into stealth they made Absolution much more accessible with multiple difficulties and removing the need for stealth. I'd say give it a shot.

I agree with others who say Microsoft will probably "surprise" us with the first XB1 GWG during E3. I've learned my lesson and have avoided buying many XB1 games. I do have to admit that moving onto the new, current generation of consoles has placed things in perspective. I've gotten rid of so many physical games I know I'll never play. And I've curbed my spending habits. It doesn't hurt that MS has been having terrible repeat sales.

Well thanks to these craptastic (no offense to the Tastic family) sales, I pulled the trigger on a copy of Arkham Origins from Gamefly.

In a slightly related-to-the-sales note, SquareEnix have decided to shift their focus back to "classic JRPGs". This is due to the overall poor sales of games like Tomb Raider and Hitman: Absolution and the great sales of Bravely Default. This pleases me greatly.
Hell yes! You aren't alone. SquareEnix have been ignoring the 'niche' fans for too long.

Phil Fish tweeted that he's coming back to game development and Fez II is happening again...

But it's April 1...

I'm not sure whether to thank the Based God or not.

I was actually able to play WarFace last night.  The game had no issue and seems to work well after midnight Eastern Standard Time, as most of the other players were commenting.  I cannot believe it's a free game, as it played so well and feels like some $60 game when it's not lagging or crashing.  I was only in Cooperative games, but it's so much fun when played with a group who works, moves and communicates together.

There are clans in the game, so someone could start a CAG clan.  It would be worth it just to have people to play with, as the higher level Cooperative missions are chaotic, so you'd want headsets, people filling all classes, and teammates you could rely on.

Why do I have the oddest feeling that you were paid to make this post?

Also, was expecting something jokey when I downloaded that system update. Like getting the old school dashboard back for a day or something. That would've been cool. #Blades4life

I knew there was something I meant to do on the 31st... buy some Guitar Hero songs! But lo and behold, they're all gone now, except for a few as-yet-undisposed listings for GH5/WoR content that's not half off.

Well, damn.

At least I have a hell of a Rock Band tune library...

Most were actually gone yesterday as Activision pulled a lot of them down early by a day or two depending on the game.

Why do I have the oddest feeling that you were paid to make this post?
Are we only allowed to complain on the internet? I criticized it a few pages back, even telling people to avoid it, but then played it last night and it was great. It's a free game, so I'm encouraging people to play it since it's actually better than many games I've paid for.

I think it was mentioned a few pages back that Sony and MS make the decisions on when they delist something. Some other manufacturer had stated that whb their stuff got delisted a few dad early a while back, so the hate for Activision (at least in this instance) is probably misplaced.

I have to say that they seem to have fixed the server issues with Warface now.

I haven't had any "connection problem" problems so far today.

Oh, and for some entertainment, go look at the "why was I banned" forum on xbox.com and look at how many morons got banned for changing their tenure on their gamercard. (the number of years on Gold)

You can hack your tenure?!?! Wow, people are creative. Probably would be cooler if they can hack their gamerpic to be anything they upload. ;)

You can already do that with a camera.

I can see somebody changing their tenure to make them look like an employee. If somebody had a tenure longer than XBL has been public, they can say they were part of the team that created Xbox and who knows what kind information gullible people would give them.

Bringing the fun to those too lazy to look for themselves. -> http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/xbox_support/xbox_360_support/f/41.aspx

That's the section where people post about their bans. Enjoy.
Then they come to Ambassador chat and tell me "how much money I am going to lose because I banned them".

There used to be a website called whywasibanned.com that compiled and commented on the funniest ones. I think it's gone now though. :(

My favorite was a guy who was banned for referring to "Cummins" in his profile. He had a whole big excuse about how they must have thought he was referring to something sexual, but it was really just about the Cummins engine company and how much he liked the engine parts they manufacture, and it was all just a misunderstanding.

So what did his profile actually say?

Batman Blackgate is out and looks amazing. I even have to restrain myself to not get it right now (I'm sure it won't be too long before the first sale, besides, $19.99).

OP is updated.  Music game DLC was too long for the 2nd post, had to move it to the 4th.  I know there were a few more tracks that dropped in price over the weekend before the delisting, may go back and edit them in later.

From a news post on TrueAchievements, looks like Quantum Conundrum is the Japanese GwG title for the first half of the month.

Yeah, I'd recommend waiting. Won't be long before it hits $10, and I'm kinda pissed they have the balls to charge $20 for a former handheld title (a bad handheld title) when porting it probably cost them next-to-nothing. I don't like the idea of handheld games being beta versions for full games (Mirror of Fate, this, Liberation (though Liberation lost MP in porting, so the handheld version still has its perks)).

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the last time the Dark Souls DLC was put on sale on the 360. I talked (tricked) a friend into giving Dark Souls a chance. He is really digging it and wants to purchase the additional content. He isn't to the point where he could access the DLC in game quite yet; I have been telling him to hold off on buying it in case a sale pops up. From what I've found, it seems the last sale was around February/March of last year. Can anyone confirm this? If that was the last time, what are the odds that it goes on sale within the next month? It seems these sales are completely arbitrary, but with the 2nd game out and (possibly) a year since the last sale, I thought there may be hope of seeing a markdown soon. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It was on sale once last June, for half-off ($7.50). So not incredibly likely until Dark Souls 2 gets an expansion or something and they have a franchise sale.

My younger brother had someone hack his and change it to 10 years back when Black Ops 1 came out. Microsoft banned his account costing him a year of XBL he had just renewed. He had just turned 10.

I don't find it funny at all.

Like the peopleofwalmart.com of gaming.

I Know this is a bit late, but all this talk of Square Enix and how they're going back to "core games" just makes me think "Square Enix fails at being Square Enix. Goes back to being Square Enix." I Look forward to seeing turn based RPG's with Lightning making an appearance in all of them.
