  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

I just started playing Dust last night....holy hell, I've been missing out. This is my type of game. Hack and slash, wrecking all kinds of shit, linear level designs, dealing out high numbered combos. Yes sir!

 
GFWL is now an industry joke (read through the article, particularly under the sub-heading "The platform's the thing").

Microsoft closed the Xbox PC market 9 months ago.  Numerous developers are in the process of patching their games to remove GFWL.

I don't know what you need for something to become official, but I sure as heck wouldn't count on GFWL being a thing for very much longer.

I want something from MS stating when they are shutting the service down for it to be official. So far anything I have seen is based on the AoE Online article.

Well you'll know if it's real in a month, but I'd recommend not waiting to play any games shackled with GFWL if they aren't confirmed to be getting a patch.

GFWL is notorious for having issues. I played Dirt 2/3 with a group of 6-8 people nearly every night for two years and almost every night someone had issues with GFWL. Last night a couple of us went back to play some Dirt 2 and I had GFWL issues.

I'm not as negative on it as some people because it's aim was good and when it worked it brought an XBL type experience to PC. Unfortunately MS pretty much abandoned the initiative early on but kept letting people integrate it into games for MP and DRM and Steam started eating their lunch. It needs to be shut down now because it's unsupported but it's unfortunate that games that can't be patched are going to be killed off as a result.

Pretty far off topic I suppose, but I'm trying to beat CoD4 on Veteran and it is not going well. If anyone has tips for the "Shock and Awe" mission I would be happy to listen.

My buddy and I did this and most of the MP achievements tonight. We just have to do the capture 100 flags in CTF and play online with 5 friends.
I feel like I should start working on MP stuff for games. It'll motivate me to play them and work through the backlog. Servers won't stay open forever and with the new consoles out it's only a matter of time until devs shift completely to them.

I splurged and bought the Bruno Mars pack since the nieces wanted to sing in Rock Band and I was SICK AND TIRED of listening to all the 10's songs I had in my 1,000+ library. So hopefully, there will be a Rock Band sale this week.

CoD sale, because the trailer for the new one released. (I have interest in the new CoD...they got me good)


On a side note, I was trying to decide what game to play today and I almost picked NCAA Football 14 and it reminded me that it is the last college football game, which in turn made me real bummed...there's going to be a hole in my shelf where that game should be. Ultimate Team on NCAA was fantastic! Ugh!
 
I actually wouldn't mind a CoD sale if it was for the original trilogy.

Toy Soldiers is fun until I got to the second to last level. Finding the cannons that are destroying my torrents is a pain in the butt.

 
Half off on Torchlight and I'm a happy man for a week. Or Diablo III for $10, I'm easily pleased :D.

Anyways, wouldn't surprise me if LocoCycle went on sale because of this deal on the PC version. Guess we'll find out within the hour.

Transformers WFC is on sale for Gold members.

edit: also the second game (FoC). I don't own Fall of Cybertron, but as I own WFC physical and still haven't played it... I'm not motivated enough to get the sequel.
