This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

You know one of these days I need to actually redeem that SOD code I won back when the game first came out....

Any thoughts on Dungeon Seige III?  I remember passing on that at Target for like 13 bucks a couple years ago....

I played the trial a couple of months ago, and it felt similar to Kingdoms of Amalur but with a semi-aerial point of view.

Great dungeon crawler game, if you like diablo type games, you'll enjoy DS-3.

I wish DS3's DLC would have gone on sale also, since it's now twice as much as base and has literally never had a sale.

DS3 is pretty fun.  It has local co-op (if you're into that) or online co-op, and I think that's the way to go.  Free the Krug.

Or you can, you know, stop buying crappy games?
What is this, Self Control Gamer? Should really have been called Buy Anything if it's Cheap Enough Gamer.

Isn't Garden Warfare online only though? If there's no single player campaign, I'm going to be disappointed.
Online only and you have to be online and Gold to even start the game I believe.

State of Decay $9.99
Woo, my speculative DLC buying has paid off. Now I need a sale on Toy Soldiers.

Hmm. In for Dungeon Siege.
Same, I played a bit of it on PC and was fun if nowhere near something like Diablo or the original DS.

Wondering the same thing.
First look at reviews is not promising.

I wonder if it's too much to hope for a Dead Rising 3 season pass sale on XB1 to go along with the zombie theme.

(It probably is too much to hope for.)

Wasn't there some kind of problem with the online co-op? Like only the host player's progress gets saved or something?
I think there's just one save file and other players join the game, so that's probably right. If you're playing through the story, you'd likely want to set up a private and play with the same people or risk missing out on large segments of the game/achievements/etc. Your equipment/level/skill tree should be saved on the host's file, though, so you don't lose that as long as you stay on the same save file.

I've almost exclusively played it offline co-op though. The setup is probably a lot better for offline.

LOL. Finished Zombie Apocolypse on Saturday. If I didn't know how shallow the first game was I may have picked up the 2nd. :)

Does garden warfare allow 2 players on 1 Xbox?
On the XBox One yes. Though I don't believe credits carry over to the profiles, at least it wasn't that way on release.

It's only horde mode/mass effect 3 like horde mode. Online vs other teams is only one player on one screen.

Well, I sure do regret paying full price for PVZ last week. Oh, well, I guess.
Woo, my speculative DLC buying has paid off. Now I need a sale on Toy Soldiers.
When I got home from work and checked xbldb, I saw State of Decay and thought you'd be happy, Eld. In related news, I spend a lot of time on this site

My internet stinks so I have to pass on Garden Warfare. I'll let the online rule apply to Final Fight but $20 for Plants vs. Zombies is just way too much.

Very tempted to get State of Decay or Riptide. I'm still having a blast on the first Dead Island. In fact, i reached the jungle earlier today.

I'm debating getting Dead Island: Riptide too. I remember having a decent time in co-op and also being annoyed at the original. Will my love or hate win out? Stand by.

Holy crap! I may actually buy something this week! (BLOPS II pass)

I highly recommend PvZ for anyone thinking about it.  For anyone who doesn't want to do the download, it's roughly the same price used at GS after PUR and birthday coupon. ($20.16 + tax)

For the Riptide fence-sitters (no offense meant, just thought it was a proper term for it.), I can recommend Riptide if you have enjoyed DI and aren't coming red hot off of playing/beating the first entry. I say that because two janky, semi-busted up but very fun zombie games like DI and Riptide back to back might be a bit much, especially since the games tend to run very long. If you have co-op people (even just 1 good buddy would do, really) you can talk into getting the game with you so you can co-op it up, you'd be in business. I actually think that despite its problems (save-nuking bugs, crashing, some performance issues) it's one of the best times I've had playing co-op across my time with xbox360.

P.S. Make you you switch to Analog control for a better gaming experience!

I own and loved both of them very enjoyable even though i have beaten the first and still in the middle of the second.

Dont expect anything huge cuz its honestly the same game just in a different location. I mean theres a bunch of extra added stuff but still prettty much the same thing

so most likely all the stuff u loved and hated about the first one you will probable feel about riptide

Deus Ex: Human Revolution went down to $5
Say what you will about the boss fights in that game, done out-house at a different gaming studio, but that's the only negative for that game imo. $5 is a huuuuuggee ass steal there but hey I bought the CE of that game and loved it.

Plus there's DLC now that will let you "fight" the bosses without combat now.

Edit- At least there is on PC, not seeing it for the consoles?

It was never DLC. It was a re-release called the Director's Cut. On PC through Steam if you owned the original Deus Ex: HR, you could get the Director's Cut for $5. For consoles, you're shit out of luck, and will have to buy it at retail.

Nope, while that might be the case on PC they never released a DLC patch for that. What they ended up doing is releasing a Director's Cut version on the Wii U and when that didn't sell (and I wonder why it didn't hmmmm . . . .) I think they ended up porting it to the 360 and PS3. It's a standalone title though and doesn't integrate at all with the original (I assume that means it has its own set of achievements though I could be wrong) that comes with the various DLC for the game and enhanced boss fights. The Director's cut also has a New Game+ mode (where only augments carry over) and improved textures (especially on faces) and some director's commentary from the Montreal studio who was behind it and a few other bells and whistles.

I played the original and had a great time. The boss fights weren't the highlights anyhow. I did a stealth run without any kills and had a total blast, though things did get frustrating at times. In regards to the ending I will say that
the ending was complete turkey breath in terms of your choices - very reminiscent of Mass Effect 3's ending
- so I'd definitely go with this version for $5 and if you love it enough you might grab the director's cut and do another run through at some point.

Kinda sad, really. Game is still badass. Did the Ghost achievement on Give Me Dues Ex Difficulty, bosses weren't that bad face to face. Stock up on mines, and you're good to go.

Yea it is a really small sized game 2.4 gigs i think it was

Amazing game <3

Bought this at full price on launch and it was worth it then and worth it now
Garden Warfare is larger than the posted download size when you factor in the 2(?) required DLC add-ons. They add new levels, modes, and characters.

In the very least I can say about State of Decay going on sale again is that next time it'll probably hit the 60-70% off or more mark and than I'll strike. Otherwise I own nearly all the games on sale.

Gotcha. Guess I was thinking of the PC version then, kind of silly you wouldn't make that available to everyone these days.

Ok this time I'm going to buy garden warfare. How's the population online?
How is dungeon siege? I don't like jrpg (or Japanese game design at all) but it's developed by obsidian and I loved new vegas

Still kickin' quite strong and you'll like Dungeon Siege, it's a wrpg or just a rpg really. I'm not too keen on jrpgs either.

There's nothing Japanese in DSIII, you may be mistaking it for Dark Souls which is commonly abbreviated as DS too.
It's a (boring) dungeon crawl romp, made even worst by an absolutely insignificant loot system and decent skill trees which at least offer a certain degree of customization (Diablo III this is not, though).
My advice is to buy it only if you're certain to play it together with someone else, as solo play is a sure way to discover the wonderful world of narcolepsy...

Oh, and the Obsidian touch is nearly non-existant: it could have been developed by Gameloft and you won't even notice.

Don't know about 360 but Xone has plenty of people. DS3 is an action RPG, sort of like a slower paced Diablo from what I played of it.

Haven't had any problems finding matches on 360
