This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

If you want to play a newer bad game, just head over to Xbox Indie section. It is like PC over there.

EDIT: For retail games, Ride to Hell is the latest truly bad game. I fell through the map way too much. That was just one of the many problems. Haven't gotten a chance to play many newer games in the last 6 months though. I heard there's a PS4 game that was really bad so they are remaking it from the ground up.

i was so excited to play the latest Wolf Among Us... wtf >.< i have the season pass and it ain't working.... :(
Again? I downloaded the wolf among us ep 3 yesterday and the season pass was working fine. Ep 4 is not ready to be downloaded, that's all. Wait a few more hours.

Oh my god, not this again. Telltale, get your sh*t together, I can't believe every episode has to have some major issues. I waited like a month before I played Episode 3 and I still ran into a bizarre glitch. Now, I'm not sure when I'll play Ep 4 for Wolfy (I also have the pass so I could anytime), at this point I might just wait it out.

It's only showing up as a placeholder, the game doesn't come out until tomorrow (Wednesday) when XBLA updates. Have patience.

Well anyone upset by the lack of great MS sales should hopefully be as pleased as I am about this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRCk7-DMAkE

Only a few days to go and I think the price is perfect at $6.99 - seems like a whole new experience and game for just $7. Sweet deal IMHO

Haha yeah that is an infamous bad game as well, Lasertime talks about it on this really awesome episode: http://www.lasertimepodcast.com/2014/02/05/vidjagame-apocalypse-50-master-thieves/

Ahh by the way I think I figured out that tax or no tax thing. By comparing what I had purchased I'm going to hazard a guess that the Xbox One Store isn't applying tax to my order, Super Time Force/FIFA 14, as opposed to the stuff off the Xbox Marketplace, Alan Wake DLC/GH DLC/Walking Dead400Days. Well at least it doesn't show up in the confirmation emails, I'll have to check my bank statement online.

I haven't been charged tax on any of my xb1 purchases IIRC. I've bought a bunch of games also. This is between ms cards only, my cc only and both together purchases.

Edit-all purchased through the console

That looks amazing. And I cannot believe an expansion like that is so low in price.

Hold on, hold on.... Worse than Superman 64? You do know you just stepped into forbidden soil ? Seriously is it that bad ??
Okay, not quite as bad as Superman 64, but for me it is, (there's a story behind the reason).

Basically, back in the day, when Superman 64 launched, my best friend bought it on day one. The rest of us, myself included, did not let him live this down.

Well, he had his revenge, becuase I bought Colonial Marines on launch day, (I preordered it, actually ). The only saving grace, if it can be called that, was the game was paid for with a gift card I had left over from Christmas.

So, yeah, I'm a bit sour over it. I should have taken the lack of reviews prior to release day as a sign. It looked decent at e3 the year before, and I really wanted to like the game. But, it was not to be, and I now have my own "stupid purchase" in the form of this turd.

I think weve gotten to a point of expecting mass effect 3 dlc to show up its getting funny waiting for it
I'm calling it right now: Within the next two weeks prior to E3, EA will put all of the Mass Effect DLC on sale. THEN at E3, they'll announce the PS4/XBO "Ultimate Trilogy Edition" with all of the DLC (I know its been rumored). Leave it to EA to get you one last time this gen.

Don't play Watch Dogs multiplayer before you beat the game. Too addicting. I'd buy a multiplayer only version of the game for $20. I have a feeling though that people will eventually start to find and use cheap tactics to win. Might only be fun for the first week or so.

I'm tempted to get Aliens: Colonial Marines since I enjoyed Aliens vs. Predator.
Getting Colonial Marines on the basis that you enjoyed anything, is the worst mistake you could make.

True, it's not "worst game ever" status, but my god please don't waste 10 dollars on this mess. Both for your sake, and because Gearbox should not be encouraged.

Yeah, the E3 footage was faked, just so you know. Don't feel bad. Red flags only showed up for me when I noticed that the Collector's Edition went on sale before release. That just about never happens.

Anyways, I bought it day 1 as well (was even looking at the CE, but $100 was far too much for my blood), but I ended up being able to get my money back by returning a copy I got during a B2G1 free at Target where it only cost me $30, as well as being able to get me a free game.

Normally I wouldn't do this sort of thing, but if any game deserved to have the rules bent for a refund, it was this one.

Ended up getting the CE for less than $20 from Newegg too. I know I'm terrible for buying the game again, but I had to have that statue!

And... I bought it at $10 again at Best Buy for an easy profit trading it right back into Best Buy. So at least the game made me some money.

If someone wants to play Sainst Row the Third now that it's free and can't log in to THQ to upload your character (achievement unlocked), a quick email to [email protected] (IIRC), will solve the thing. BUT the new password they give you, DO NOT try to change it for an easier one, just write it down. If you change it through the web, it will be erased (again) and you will have to email deepsilver to ask for a new one (again).

Incidentally, if you want to carry over your character from Saints Row The Third into Saints Row IV, the website is the only way to do it (upload from SR3 and then download back into SR4). SR4 won't just read the SR3 save file on your HDD which is weird.

Just be careful brother... that's technically refund fraud, which can be prosecuted as shoplifting.

I'm aware, but thank you. Like I said, I wouldn't do that sort of thing, but I felt too screwed to take it lying down.

Considering all the allegations of false advertising (because the launch trailers for Colonial Marines included the falsified E3 footage without a disclaimer), I don't feel too badly about it.

I don't feel badly about it at all but I don't do it. If companies didn't want you to take advantage of them they shouldnt leave the door wide open to do so.

I lost my job as a loss prevention coordinator because I was TOO LENIENT with shoplifters. If they didn't fight, it was under $100 bucks, and the merchandise was still saleable then why should I prosecute someone for an idiotic mistake. I'd rather instill lessons in dumbasses rather than make it harder on them. On a side note I'm happy I was demoted and forced out because now, after a few failed attempts at store management, I do loss prevention free lance and I've never been this happy with a job in my life. Plus, I'm making more money and working my own hours.

Refund fraud is a bad thing, but not in this instance. You can't fault Anyone for finding a loopHole in anything. Don't like it then close those holes.

See that's why hearing Internet rumblings claiming Watch Dogs is the next Colonial Marine makes no sense and is calling a mountain out of mole hills. Then again we are talking about the internet here...

Anything on sale worth buying? I finally got 15 bucks worth of MS points from the promo today.

I'm assuming waiting until E3 would be for the best.

Getting Colonial Marines on the basis that you enjoyed anything, is the worst mistake you could make.

True, it's not "worst game ever" status, but my god please don't waste 10 dollars on this mess. Both for your sake, and because Gearbox should not be encouraged.
Yeah, I am passing and waiting for the disc version when it's under $10 during a B2G1 offer from Gamestop.

I mentioned Alien Hominid and Alien vs. Predator earlier, but if I had to choose one it would be Aliens vs. Preadator.

Why? Because Alien Hominid's levels are pretty much all of the same. Sure the game is fun but after a while, shooting gets tiring with the same guns and cheap deaths. I've only beaten the game once and would only go back to play/unlock minigames I may have missed. $5 is the most I would pay for it.

Alien vs. Predator, to me, has more replay value. You choose between Alien, Human, and Predator with each character having different abilities and levels. Easily worth $6.39.

Or you can buy both and still have money left.

From what I've heard PC version requires UPlay. UPlay has been down all day yesterday and some of today. The actual game is really good.

Super Time Force reminds me of an SNES game called Lost Vikings where each character have different abilities in finishing a level. Once I learned one guy jumped and nothing else, I wanted to forget the game existed. I realize there is strategy involved, but there's too many controls to absorb in those games.

Instead, you're better off using your time on a different kind of Time Force:

My nips are harder than a diamond in an ice storm.

Been waiting for another MK! Or at least a sequel/HD remake of Shaolin Monks.

I hear Aliens: Colonial Marines is a great game. Gearbox made it, they also made Borderlands 1 and 2. So you know its good.
Their best game without a doubt is still "Insert Genitalia into the Meat Grinder" - I used to play the hell out of that on the Virtual Boy.

It's a shame that they got sidetracked with the Brothers in Arms and Borderlands series. I'm hoping we get more games where we stick appendages in meat grinders or play with human feces or whatever the hot christ you do in Aliens: Colonial Marines (from what I recall of watching some let's plays there were a lot of "you're kidding me"s and heaps of head-thrashing and eye-gouging and tons of what I believe is called general boredom)

Having played through Aliens: CM - the biggest hurdle is the first level, as it's rather a shock to play something that looks like that on the current gen.  Once you get into it though, it's fairly decent.  Probably not worth $10 (I think I paid $9 for the CE from Gamestop), but there's some fun in there for $5 or so.  I even went back and worked on a few achievements I missed on the first playthrough.

But yeah, I would not be excited to have paid $60 for it.

Agreed. I got it on the GS deal as well and felt I got my money's worth. This isn't a deal worth jumping on though. Find a physical copy for pennies and you can destroy it if you'd like. Deleting a digital game will never be as satisfying.
