  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

just remember, this isn't the entire sale, every day small group of games or dlc goes on sale. The small list of games above the Xbox One on sale games are the ones that are only on sale for tomorrow and then Wed. those get switched, while the huge list is for the entire week.

 
Definitely a better sale than anything we've seen recently, but still kind of weak compared to the past Ultimate Game sales. I'm tempted by a couple, but only because I have credit from Gamestop to burn. Realistically I don't think I'll buy anything. That has a lot to do with me owning all of the heavy hitters on that list (Dishonored, Skyrim, The Witcher, and Deus Ex are all solid buys, but they've been as cheap/cheaper physically).

Skate 2 does work out to be $3.75, as does Fallout 3. Just keep in mind that Skate 2 no longer has online play.

Doesn't look like there's any DLC for it based on Xbox.com so I would assume it's the only version. There's a retail version packaged with a 5 disc CD soundtrack but that's the only other one I'm aware of.

 
I'll probably get 400 days to complete my Walking Dead, but I don't see much else for me.  If Trials Fusion was that price for X1, I'd definitely get it. Some good deals, but I already have most of it.

 
Hmmm...def will be buying Fallout NV, possibly Dishonored. Nothing else really stands out. Gears3 maybe, but I didn't really like 1&2, and the walking dead games, never saw the appeal myself. I wanted to kill Clementine when I tried the free ep1.

Last week I bought Gears 3 at full price since it's the main thing I play and my disc drive went out. I've heard MS will refund if it goes on sale shortly after, but then again, this is Microsoft. Anyone had any luck getting a refund if bought before a sale?

Those walking dead and wolf among us don't appeal to me either. Too slow paced, I would rather watch Dexter on Netflix or some other series than play such a slow game.
 
Damn, that Walking Dead Season 2 pass is tempting. I bought the first 2 episodes already. I kind of want to just wait for it to be released on XB1, that way it'll be a fresh experience from episode 3 and on. Same goes for Wolf among us
 
Realized that TWD2 ep1 hasn't gone free before like the first season and the pass doesn't include ep1. So if the 50% is off the $15 and the first ep is still $5 (no point in a separate TWD sale this week), it'll still be over $10 unlike what I've done with TWA and TWD1 in the past. Not a big deal but something to consider for the true cheap gamer.
 
And I figured I'd just stay in for the night and not even get all gussied up. Looks like an awesome date night with more unique and (possibly) exciting outcomes each and every night this week. ;) Too bad I only have $5 in the bank and a few more dollars coming my way in a few days :rofl:

Well I wouldn't expect other sale stuff on top of that. It's like a quickie in the afternoon and staying home to watch Netflix.

Anyone have any comments on the value of Gears 3 season pass in 2014?

I did a Google search and the season pass reviews are all pretty dated.

I play Gears for Horde mode but it looks like the maps released in the season pack were later released for free and the only limitation with the free maps is you can't use them in private matches?

Thoughts appreciated!

Yes, so slow. I even tried season one on my tablet thinking it'd be good for playing before bed, but the game is just so slow/boring that I have yet to complete episide one on it.

Can anyone say if Gears3 is better than one and two? I bought one, played it for a few hours, got stuck and never went back to it. Got two as a free download last year, played it for a few hours, got stuck, and never went back to it.

Wishing Halo4 would go on sale fir $10, I'd be all over that.
 
Gears 2 has the best story IMO, Gears 3 isn't far off though and is better some aspects.

Gears 1 had the best MP, but its aged of course.  Gears 3 is the best of Gears 1/2 in terms of MP.

Halo 4 is $10 used at gamestop. Don't really understand why people go crazy when a game is equal or cheaper at gamestop. If you have been waiting for it to reach that price why not just go to the gamestore? I understand people like stuff from xbox live so they play it easier but some people act like they have been waiting for ages. When it's either that price or close to it elsewhere. Weird X 10

Well the reason is my dvd drive in my xbox is dead, so I can only play digital. Not a baffling reason right?

I've already had the dvd drive in my current unit replaced twice, not going through the expense of replacing it a third time, so no more disc based games. Even the drive on my ps3 has died, so I only do digital on that as well.

I never play multiplayer, so it's the offline game that I care about. Since I never got in to 1&2 maybe 3 isn't a good deal for me even at $5...

Gears 3 at $5 is a fantastic deal, but if you don't like the series, I guess it's a hard sell. The campaign and multi-player are both great fun - especially if you can enjoy it with a friend. My time in horde mode with a buddy can be counted in days, not hours.

 
GOW3 is a steal for $5. GREAT game. One of the best third person cover shooters of the generation.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game and I still play horde mode fairly regularly.

I loved Gears 3. I found the story to be better than 1 and 2 (although 2 has a very good story as well). The mission structure and level design was great in 3 as well.

Multiplayer wise, I played more Horde in Gears 2 due to the servers being absolute sh*t in multiplayer and I never played much multiplayer for 1 since I got it with Judgement (and by then everyone playing was way too good). I loved 3's multiplayer as well as both Horde and Beast mode, which added a very fun twist to something that was being found in basically every game.

I would say $5 for Gears 3 is an amazing offer. I'm fairly sure there's a demo for the game, you could always check that out before deciding to buy.

 
Only thing holding me back from a Gears 3 purchase is the price of the Season Pass.  Not even sure if it still has a active community as well.

 
Wow this morning I was thinking "why don't they announce sales early so we can prepare our wallets" and BOOM, they announce a ultimate game sale

Probably going to get MGS:GZ, Silent Hill HD, Portal 2, TWD2 Season Pass.

I'm just not a fan of cover based combat/3rd person shooters I guess. The only mp that I've truely enjoyed was cooperative team based in Mass Effect 3. Also I only have one friend that does any type of gaming, and our tastes are Completely different. He lives for Mortal Kombat and WW2 flying games, so we've never really played anything together.

For anybody looking to play GOW 3 online. The community is not close to being dead. How do I know? I play it almost every day, my favorite MP game ever. Around 10000+ people playing every day, usually more on the weekend. 3-4 am in the morning, TDM still has about 1000 people playing. You'll be able to find a match late.

There will be a new sale every day through the 14th. So there will be new "flavors" every night, er, I mean day for me. Depends if I wanna bite or not when I see them

Also, ditto what kickrockz said. Multiplayer is alive and well as I play Team Deathmatch every other night and it's still a blast 2 1/2 years later.

Whoa...I didn't realize Gears 2 had horde mode; I was LTTP on that one.

Gears 3. It basically turns it into tower defense lite with setting up turrets and sentry guns and such.

Glad i didn't spend my gamestop treasure hunt credits yet. I just wish i knew what all the daily sales were going to be so i could manage my credits accordingly.

Ah I do remember that now but decided I wouldn't play it yet anyway until all 5 were out and hoped it would be free by then as Telltale is wont to do.
