  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.

First couple seasons may be a bit rough around the edges, but there's still plenty of gems there. Some Enchanted Evening (possibly my #2 favorite episode after the Itchy & Scratchy Movie ep), There's No Disgrace Like Home (love that electroshock therapy scene), first Treehouse of Horror, The Way We Was, Lisa's Substitute ("Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.").

Probably too much to hope that FXX will run the full episodes and not the syndication cuts. Got the DVD sets to fall back on, I think I kept up with them through season 9 or 10.

Probably not, but they are going all out. They are planning a whole "Simpsons World" thing online. Scripts, episodes, trivia, behind the scenes, sort only watch episodes that specific characters are in, search/share clips/quotes on social media, and more. They paid $750 million. They aren't going to waste any of it.

I Enjoyed the first two seasons, but just seasons 3-10 it felt like a whole different realm where they finally hit their grasp of all the characters. I Always seem more easier to recommend those seasons mostly because everything opened up and became super quotable (for better or worse) during that time. Though that's just my personal preference. I Think the only weak episodes in that whole lot were the clip show ones, excluding the 134th episode special hosted by Troy McClure.

Skipping Season 2 would be a huge mistake. Simpson and Delilah, Three-eyed Fish, Itchy and Scratchy and Marge, Homer's Brother, and Principal Charming. Those Terminator/Robocop jokes fuck ing kill me. "Pros: Nice Stride. Cons: Complete Stranger" and "Cons: Possible Homersexual".

 
For all the reminders about "the Dark Ages" in XBL sales I'm grateful that Microsoft allows us to change our GTs at all. I'm still sad that I can't change my PSN ID since I have enough invested in it to not start all over with a new, better name.

I woke up predicting a Square Enix sale but I just looked up Lara Croft and the games are full price. Date night failed.

If people want cheap games so badly, why not buy some indy games? There are many that are just a dollar.

And who am I kidding? The Simpsons is still great. I don't follow episodes by seasons but I'm sure many of them are past "the last good season". And still has quotable moments too.

 
Just looked at XBLDB. It's gonna be slim pickins this week... how does Wolfenstein 3D for $2.49 grab you? How about Abyss Odyssey for a whopping five cents off the sticker price? Or Catherine for twenty dollars? I think I'll be waiting for whatever Sony plans to announce for their own systems. Even Nintendo can do better than this.

Family Guy...loved it way more than the Simpsons. I never really found the Simpsons funny. Bobs Burgers I really liked and American Dad too. Simpsons I just watch out of habit. And really find the newer artsy fartsy openings by different artists very unappealing.

After watching it longer than I should have, all the episodes and humor kinda all mash together for me in that show. Meaning I remember different flashback sequences, but if you were to ask me what episode they're from I'd have no idea.

Yeah this is very true. Happened to me once in the Simpsons too. Where Homer was 100 feet tall and solid gold. Couldn't figure out which episode that was for the life of me.

Simpsons was pretty good before but that was years ago

To be honest, I don't remember either. I Think it was an earlier episode, but the flashback began with Lenny asking if Homer got a haircut or something before heading to Burns' office and saying he's in charge.

Family Guy I always considered a more adult version of Simpsons. The only time I truly hate Family Guy is when they take one joke and drag it out for what feels like minutes at a time (two words: Conway Twitty). Otherwise I enjoy the show.

Yeah I'll admit to feeling the same way. I don't see it as a con though. It's always like a challenge to figure out which episode I'm watching.

I admire The Simpsons for trying new things and story ideas which is why I personally like to keep watching. More often than not, it works. Every season has at least one gem.
