This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

Really tempted by Red Faction: Guerrilla DLC, even though I haven't touched that game in years. Anyone got any insight or recommendation?
I highly recommend the Demons of the Badlands dlc as that has a good amount of single player content(took me like 4 or 6 hrs to beat). It's the only dlc for RFG with achievements and half can be attained playing through the dlc. The other half are tied to collectibles and pro time runs in vehicles. Will add on more time to the 4-6 hrs if you're looking to "complete" the dlc. I don't recall if I bought the multiplayer dlc, but the online community is prolly dead unless some CAGs get together I imagine.

I don't remember who here said the multiplayer was great when it came out, but I agree. The multiplayer was the shit when I played it half a decade ago. Such a great game overall. Single player and multi. Good times........

Soulless cash-in? Have you played the game? I'll watch the video later. I can't imagine 50 solid minutes of valid points that would draw me away from the positive feelings I have for this game.
I think the main argument presented is that it's a lot of copyandpaste from the original game with a few new additions that break the game more often than they fix them. If you do watch the video, post a rebuttal if you have one. Never hurts to have more opinions.

lol cash in. Yeah 3 years from the original just screams cash in
Well, the DLC and PC version of the original came out Spring 2012, so at the very most it was about a two-year development cycle which is standard for these types of games.

Is it licensed movie game-tier and was shat out in a year? No. But time is not necessarily indicative of anything in this case.

I would call a game that replicates the original game with no direction or soul of its own and plays it safe, a cash-in. Maybe that's a bit harsh, but I'm saying it because it could have been so much better if they had put as much effort as they did into the original. That's the way I see it. But that doesn't make the game not enjoyable (because the game it's replicating was so good), it just makes it disappointing. If you liked the original, will you enjoy the game? Probably. Will you enjoy it as much as Dark Souls 1? Doesn't look likely.

Just got Wolfenstein New Order for my 360.  Good lord it's a 4 disc game, seems like around 24GB. No wonder ppl complain about its digital size on Xbone woopin' 44.55 GB.  And there is no digital 360 version on marketplace, only avatar items.

edit: given the disc amount it is still installing shit on my HD, it's been more than 15 min and only 40%

another edit: ok, disc 1 was for installation only, disc 2 where you start the game!

The Guacamelee final boss isn't that hard. His first phase can be a bit tricky, but the second phase has lots of obvious tells.

The challenge maps/Orb hunting is a pain, though. I gave up on Tree Tops and the Infierno Challenges. The Caves of Insanity weren't that bad.

Im thinking about going for the Destroy all humans

since alot of you guys say good things about it

Quick question though is their a difficulty setting in game?

excuse me? what the hell is your problem
I think he was saying since you didn't like Max, you didn't like good games you knob slobber

It's not a great game but it's not bad either. Don't take it personal, there have been an infestation of trolls here lately who act like assholes around here.

Isn't there some saying relating opinions to assholes? :p

Just tried The Raven. The story is good but it doesn't play well for a game. This is something more suited as a TV series or special.

Wondering if I should buy Risen 2 and/or Frontline as blind purchases. I'll have to see some Youtube videos first; otherwise this week was a bust for me.

In the meantime, I beat Dead Island with all of the side quests completed (except for one where you find a spade. No idea how to complete that). Took me 46 hours, 12 minutes, and 19 seconds.  Such a fun game.  I'll try the Ryder White campaign eventually.

I'm stuck on the fence about this game. Like you, I liked the bit of story they introduced in the trial but it plays like crap. I don't know if it's worth throwing down $7 for though.

On the fence for KI. I feel like it is going to be GWG when season 2 comes out, plus I don't really care about costumes (although getting original KI is pretty cool).

I'm just kicking myself in the ass for giving my brother my free copy lol. I did buy Sabrewolf when he was $1 so I will always have at least 2 characters. Hmmmmmm

I'm still debating Destroy All Humans.  I played the first game on the original Xbox and enjoyed it, but it sounds like the quality has gone down since then.  Still, for $4 it's kind of hard to go wrong, and now I have all this free disk space to use up!  :)

The actual moving controls were clunky to me. I think the "Choose What Your Character Says" style of gameplay is better for a game like Fallout 3. I'm thinking it's better to watch someone else play The Raven via Twitch, Youtube,etc..

Destiny beta is now open to all (Gold members, at least). Now I have to clear some space to download it ...

EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, you no longer need a code for access. All platforms.

Thanks for mentioning this. I have it on PS3 but I'm curious to see if it's any better on Xbox 360 - particularly multiplayer which PS3 keeps disconnecting me on.

Thanks. Agreed!

I wanna play the beta but I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow morning to download this, the servers are going to be full with everyone trying to download at the same time. Not to mention, I need to make some room on my hard drive for this beta.

Quick question, is it possible to have a hard drive COMPLETELY full? As in no space left, will it still work properly or be really slow?

It would be awful..def make some space before trying to play. Get on it though, the beta is spectacular

Thanks for the heads up.

Tried searching on my Xbox for the beta download, and only could find four videos.

I was low on space and intentionally got down to 0 KB left.

I didn't keep it that low for much time, but it didn't seem any slower than normal. Kills updating games, though.

I don't know what is more ridiculous, some of these "sales," Ryan Rayburn's bad news bears throw, or the name of the Royals' first base coach?

Meh, I found Desinty beta to just be meh. It's not a bad game, but the way it's been hyped up I expected more though it may also be because of the beta. Nothing about the character feels like my own or original, the skill tree is preset so can't play around and the time it takes to use abilities is...pretty ridiculous. I'll still buy it like I do nearly all my games, when it's under $20.

Also if my character is goddamn robot-man race, he better sound like a goddamn robot. Especially if he looks like goddamn Ultron.

In the full game you'll have more control over your character ability. You unlock a subclass at level 15. It has an mmo feel to it, so level 8 is probably barely scratching the surface. I have no idea what max level is supposed to be, so I could be horribly mistaken. Tower alone is filled with fun.

Feels like Halo 2 mixed with Borderlands so far and I'm loving it. I wasn't going to buy it, but the beta has sold me. I just wish they didn't take out voice commands for a little extra p. I'd love to switch weapons without opening a menu like Skyrim Kinect.

Surprisingly I am enjoying Destroy All Humans quite a bit. I went into it not expecting anything good out of it because of all the bad reviews but I'm having fun with it.

But the game does have a lot of glitches. And for some reason whenever you fly your UFO way too high the civilians move in a "T-Pose" it looks pretty funny.

I honestly don't think bungie will disappoint.

I am sure they will make some fun multiplayer modes/maps.

Honestly the Beta is too short to make anything of it. Its pretty cool to go with your friend and beat shit up lol.

Also I found some of the levels actually kind of hard.

Nothing about the character feels like my own or original, the skill tree is preset so can't play around and the time it takes to use abilities is...pretty ridiculous.
I still don't understand why we even have to activate the skills in the tree if they're already preset. It's not like I can decide which way to distribute my points. I can understand if it's actively done, like how you can customize ammo in certain weapons, but to have to manually activate or accept that I've unlocked an ability seems unnecessary.

"You've leveled up. Go to the menu to activate the new ability you've gained and will definitely want to use. Just remember the game doesn't pause while you do so, so you could be hurt or killed while running through our tedious setup."

The skills on top you have to get, but then there are usually about 2-3 underneath it that change the effect of the main skill, you can only choose to have one of those active at a time and have to open the tree to switch back to them, at the end of the tree is the ability to permanently lock the tree for a stat boost if you find a build you like, or you can leave it open and allow yourself to alternate those abilities while not getting the boost.

Dance because MMO. Duh.

I never got why people were trying to sell their beta codes in the first place. So shady.

Now I can tell ppl that Destiny Beta is free! I got to call my Uncle in Antarctica, he'll be happy as a little pig.  Oh yes and my 360 friends who asked me for a code, I'll be like: " it's free bitch, get it now"

I know im a little late to this Destiny Beta party

but quick question

how much longer can you play the beta for?

and is it like a random co op level or multiplayer death match

It's five story missions (single-player, but other players are around), a co-op mission (up to 3 players), a hardpoint domination vs. mode (with at least two different maps), a free roam mission (for lack of a better term), and a hub world. I think the beta ends this Sunday.

I didn't ask but thanks for the info.

Just started the beta last night, so I've only done the intro level and arrived at the hub.

Destiny is alright. I don't think it's great, but it's a solid game. I haven't really had much interest in the last few Halo games since Halo 3 (well besides Halo Wars) and Borderlands was fun until number 2 came out (blah) so I guess it's just not in my particular taste lol.

I'll still end up purchasing it, but probably around Christmas rather than on release day.
