  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I wished for it to be shut down, and replaced with more freebie games, and better deals/discounts for us Gold members.

Don't know if they are actually shutting it down completely. They did stop giving out rewards for surveys and Gold renewals though.

Oh yeah that's what it was. Irritating since I'm about to use a year card and the surveys were scheduled through the end of the year. And the surveys were the only things I got points from other than the sign up bonus.

Yup, and the Gold renewal doesn't count until the new sub period starts, so anyone who stacked yearly cards during the Black Friday sales got screwed.
 
Still trying to decide on whether to pull the trigger on Street Fighter 3 online, or just stick to keep playing my Dreamcast version. Are the "upgraded" sprite graphics worth it?

 
I feel sorry for anyone that gets NCAA 14 at the price drop to $30.  What was it in the Holiday/End of Year sale, $15?  $20?

Being last in the series for foreseeable future, it may not budge past $30 again.  End of an era and EA's gonna' wring everything they can out of the demand for it I bet, especially in the next month or so when it really hits people there's no NCAA 15 coming and they get to jonesing for it... wonder if anyone's updating the rosters for the upcoming season...

I bought it, and am having second thoughts. The sprites themselves aren't any different beyond filters, but the pre-fight character portraits seem to have changed. The game has that slightly annoying level-building system where you perform certain actions to raise your XP, like all of Iron Galaxy's CPS2 and 3 ports do. Some graphics have been changed, like text, and there doesn't appear to be any way to shut this off. The player select music has been changed (presumably due to copyright issues) and is kind of sucky.

However, there are advantages over the Dreamcast version. Online play is one, and smoother animation is another. No cut frames from what I can tell. You can also buy soundtracks from other Street Fighter III games, but the soundtrack in Third Strike is what gives the game its identity, IMO.
 
I'm sure it's been asked recently and I'm going to make a fool of myself, but how do I use the credit I have on my account? It says I have $10.50 in my Microsoft account and whenever I go to buy something, it demands that I use a credit card. How do I make this sucker work for me?

 
There was a brief time when Xbox Rewards was offering 5% back on purchases, but they dropped that once it became completely open.  It also was contingent on your time with Gold and how long you had consecutively been a member.  If only they had kept it that way.

I've never bought a year subscription yet i've earned money back in rewards from buying games with my 1 month gold memberships. I'm in the rung under the 75,000 gamerscore. With that being said, I don't feel I've gotten much from this program. I'd be ok if they scrapped it.

It's quite frustrating that they eliminated the surveys from the rewards program. I was only one survey away from being able to cash out again.

Assuming you are doing it from the console, you just continue on and it will ask if you want to apply your credit. It's stupid it's not laid out better so that you don't have to take that small "leap of faith", but IT WILL ask you after you continue.

Get it.

I already had it too, but now I can conveniently play it on my most frequently used system, online if I want, with my nice arcade stick.

The actual in-game graphics aren't much different, but the menus are redone, and it still looks better on my TV than Dreamcast does.

Good news for sure. Once they add in Need for Speed and PVZ it would easily be worth $30. Throw in Titanfall and It's a no brainer. My guess is they add PVZ and Need for Speed by the holidays, and UFC probably in January or so.

I don't think they'll add Titanfall anytime soon considering It's still selling and has already sold 2+ million units, but hey you never know. And if they do then I'm definitely going to trade in my copy/sell on ebay to make up for the $30 difference.

Seriously. Nothing like being in first during a MP Forza race and suddenly the controller stops vibrating and hoping you can make it through the race. It is a nice touch though that it cuts the vibration to extend the battery life by a few minutes.

I don't think they'll add Titanfall anytime soon considering It's still selling and has already sold 2+ million units, but hey you never know. And if they do then I'm definitely going to trade in my copy/sell on ebay to make up for the $30 difference.

And the biggest reason why they won't add Titanfall, they even exclude it and its DLC from the 10% discount.

I do see PvZ and Need for Speed being added. NFS will be added soon after launch to help drum up the value with planting the idea you will get a game monthly. While that will be far from the truth it just supplants that idea without saying it.
 


Still trying to decide on whether to pull the trigger on Street Fighter 3 online, or just stick to keep playing my Dreamcast version. Are the "upgraded" sprite graphics worth it?

Third Strike is awesome online. Pick it up for sure.

I've probably played it more than any other fighter on the Xbox 360.

I hate graphical DLC more than anyone, but I was telling a friend on AIM the other day that I really want them to release something like this, but where you can buy different boards, like Pinball FX 2. I would love to play things like Doctor Who Monopoly and Risk on Xbox One.

I'd pay probably $15-20 for this, but I'd spend that much on $2 DLC boards, if they'd do it.

 
Brilliant idea for Hasbro. Just make digital versions of the classics. I honestly would buy them all.

No set up. No missing pieces. No clean up. I keep waiting for them to do that but they kept adapting the games and trying to make revamped games.

If you couldn't tell I have older and younger kids. I love keeping games around but the younger ones want to "play" also and like to place the pieces wherever they play.
 
See, I have a family who hates board games. At least, they hate the best ones. I love the long games like Risk and Monopoly, but everyone else hates them.

My wife always says "there's too much strategy"... Of course there is, which is why I like to play them. As I don't like relying heavily on luck to win a game, because...well I like to WIN the game
