Is Marvel Pinball worth it? Has it ever been on sale? I've been eying it forever!
Nope, but the pack @ 800pts is still a decent price, compared to individual non-Marvel tables @ 240pts each ... plus they're Marvel characters, fergoshsakes!

I caved and bought Castlevania SOTN. I've been hearing about what a great game this is since its original release on the PSX all those years ago so I'm finally gonna give it a go.
Bogus, i'm 21 and I still don't understand.
I'm 18 X 2 and I understand.............what were we talking about again? Damn kids!!
You could play it on a 4:3 tv and not have that problem
Well, I don't own any 4:3 screens at this point. So black bars would be ideal, and stretching would be acceptable. (Again, not claiming this is anything more objective than my own aversion to big splashy unchanging graphic borders).
Each one is only 160 MSP. I know this is Cheapassgamer but come on. Do that GS Call of Duty thing ang hope you get the 160 MSP prize and bam free costume. I used one of mine for the Bioshock 2 preorder characters Zigo and Blanche.
Cause I don't really want them badly enough to pay $2 a piece for them but at $1 a pop I would consider picking up the lot (and I know it is weird, but I kind of want them all or to not bother). They are unnecessary and not high on my list, which is why I care little for paying full price.
Since it's still regular price, I'd say no you don't.
I have to applaud a true CAG reply, love it. In addition you guys on this thread have a great sense of humour (I'm ancient, get off my land).

I do enjoy the free Pinball FX2 table, cus it's free. I missed out on PSN's buy Marvel Pinball get Zen Pinball free deal, and I am happy Zen is demonstrating some love for the 360. I've waited so long for another DotW featuring their games (got the first FX base set was on sale long ago). With the free table, I am tempted to get the Mars table I've been killing the demo on, so it can feel like two half-priced tables ... maybe.

Two of the Dead Rising 2 costume packs were on sale once at 50% off, was hoping the other two would be up this week but no dice. I still haven't purchased DR2 yet, hope it is good. I really liked the first one (cus of Jessica McCarney T_T, and not cus of Otis Washington =P ) and now I saw a vid on the dashboard for Off the Record and I'm kinda interested. However, I can wait like the first to be super cheap.

I know how much CAGs love to save a few bucks, but even at their current prices, all the Pinball FX2 stuff is a great deal.

Plus, I won the Captain America table from one of Zen's Facebook contests. From my experience, they seem like really cool folks.
looks like the tron theme is either gone or went up to 240 pts
I missed that, it was on sale?

I gave in and bought all of the remaining tables I needed for Pinball FX2 last week and they were all well worth it. Gotta support zen in order to get better, more quality tables and they're returning the favor as well. Got the free table and am happy with it. Buy the Marvel tables already!! They're all worth it.
A little sad that the Dead Rising 2 costume pack stuff didn't all go on sale. Would of picked up one or two if the price were right.
They'd been on sale in the past, so this is an interesting exclusion.

While many of you are supporting Zen (good), I decided to support NINJA BEE~! and get the WORLD OF KEFLINGS DLC that was released yesterday. I really have a strange addiction to these sorts of dumbed-down God games. The DLC adds about 2 hours (my final save was 2:08, but I wasn't rushing and left it running while doing some stuff around the house a few times). It's fun and I definitely feel like I got my $4 out of it at 320pts.

There was supposed to be Beavis & Butthead avatar items on the store on 10/24/11, but I'm not seeing anything. Being a CAG, I've never bought any avatar items, but I definitely wanted to see what was on there. Anyone else actually looked or been able to find them? :)
Is Marvel Pinball worth it? Has it ever been on sale? I've been eying it forever!
I think the Marvel tables are a little better than the 4 Pinball FX2 tables, but I think the newer DLC tables are even better than the Marvel tables. Captain America and Fantastic Four are great tables (along with the other new dlc).

I can't decide on whether to bite on Costume Quest or not. If it were 400 this decision would be so much easier. It's not that the 200 points would be that giant of a difference if I wanted to play it right now but I know I won't get to it for awhile so it becomes a question of whether it will have hit 400 by the time I would have actually gotten around to playing.

Its well worth the 600 Points. usually i dont like those type of turn based games but this game is fun. Costume Quest was all I was playing yesterday. I dont know if a 400 price will come to this game any time soon, but its better that you snatch it up now unless you have a shit ton of other things to do.

Edit- Just beat it. great game and an easy as hell 200 GS. If your an achievement junkie like me then you would want the dlc to go on sale asap.

Picked up Paranormal last night. Can't pass up a freebie! This was my first Pinball FX2 table. I'm really enjoying it and tempted to get the Marvel pack and maybe the FX2 pack. Any chances these will go on sale before the end of the year?

Regarding Paranormal, I noticed that the ball doesn't have much weight to it like the Williams tables. Also, the in-game tutorial (to explain how to get the goodies like multiball, etc.) in Williams is much easier to follow than the one in Paranormal. Regardless, I'm really enjoying it and plan on picking up more FX2 tables!

Same here. Grabbed it today but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Love some mindless Kefling smacking.

Finally bought Costume Quest. I'm strangely excited to play it. The only true downside it has (which is why I didn't buy it long ago) is the lack of any verbal dialogue. I'm not sure if I can have my 5yo son watch me play it if he wants me to read the semi-quick-changing text to him aloud the entire time.

If I like the game to the extent of what seems like everyone (has anyone ever said they didn't like CQ? I don't really think so), then I'll have no problem spending an extra 400 points on the DLC for another 1-3 hours of fun. Going to the monster's world sounds intriguing.

I will add my voice to all the others praising Costume Quest. I bought it the last time it went on sale as the Xbox Live Family Deal of the Week and just recently played through it for Halloween. It really is that delightful.

The graphics are crisp and enjoyable, but most importantly they convey the atmosphere of Trick or Treating and Halloween exceptionally well. In a way, I would almost suggest that this game is a spiritual successor to Earthbound (or other games in the Mother series) in its usage of a whimsical contemporary setting with classic turn-based RPG gaming. The Battle System is accessible but still has a little depth to it (use those Battle Stamps!) and it keeps you engaged in battle with reaction based timing (much like Super Mario RPG or Paper Mario). Did I also mention the game has a great sense of humor?

Any word on when Haunt will be available? It seems silly to release it after Halloween.

Oh and.... Costume Quest is one the best traditional jrpg type game I've played in a long time. Great fame and Grubbins is worth the full price.

I got case zero for 200 points. It's fine but I think it's a bit hard for me and I haven't found a difficulty setting. Also, I don't understand the game save system. There are three slots then four (or eight?) slots inside but I can't get it to load any save I want. I got the engine and I think it ajutosaved but then I died and it loaded prior to my getting the engine. Then I had to do a bunch of shit again. I rushed through it and died. That pissed me off. This is my first ever dead rising experience. It seems hard and confusing. I don't like the time deadline. I will play through this but won't be buying any more games in the series.

Dead Rising is an acquired taste. I was lucky that my cousin had the first game, I borrowed it and HATED it. It's really just not for me, I have no interest in playing anything Dead Rising again.
Fr anyone who bought or has the costume quest dlc, is it worth the 400 MSP? I really had a blast playing this and want to continue. Like I posted really easy 200 GS.
I bought it the day it came out. It's more of the same really, which isn't necessarily bad. The DLC is equivalent to one of the "worlds" from the main game (ie. neighborhood, mall, etc.) and takes around 1.5-2 hours or so to beat if I recall. You get 3-4 new costumes and another easy 50 gamerscore for your troubles. It's worth the price if you're eager for more Costume Quest gameplay, especially since you can get CQ + the DLC for less than the regular price of the base game at the moment.

Also note that while it's only been a year since CQ, DLC for DoubleFine's arcade titles has never gone on sale, and realistically you'd only be saving 2-3 bucks if it did go on sale. I'd say if you want to play it now then go for it.

Like I posted really easy 200 GS.
It's pretty much more of the same. It's an easy 50G and length-wise, it's about the same as one of the areas from the main game, so probably about 1 to 2 hours at the least.

I enjoyed the original game slightly more, maybe because it felt more fresh. The DLC was still pretty good and a fun 2 hours or so. Definitely recommend picking it up. The 3 new costumes are interesting, Even the eyeball.

It seemed to me that the difficulty was a fair bit higher in the DLC, especially the final battle. But yeah, it's basically just a direct continuation/fourth chapter of the same gameplay. Highly recommended if you loved the main game and just want more, which how could you not.

costume quest is a lot of fun and the art direction is great. if you're on the fence about a 200 ms point difference, you're missing out...it also comes with a bunch of halloween themed avatar stuff.

I absolutely love Halloween, so I'm in for Costume Quest. Of course, I probably won't play it this year since my girlfriend already made her October visit, but I'll have it for next year -- maybe the DLC will be on sale by then ;)

Hey, Ive recently come into some MSP im looking to spend, when I look at games on demand, there isnt an option to spend MSP on them, if there something im missing?
Hey, Ive recently come into some MSP im looking to spend, when I look at games on demand, there isnt an option to spend MSP on them, if there something im missing?
On the xbox, while in the purchase menu press 'X' and it will change from credit card to microsoft points.

On xboxlive.com, while in the purchase menu there will be a tab that says 'Use Microsoft Points' right under the price of the game.

Hope that helps!

On a side note. Planning on finishing RE4 today on professional, Then I finaly get to play me some Costume Quest! =D

Agreed. It seems like Capcom took a very good idea and made it into a pain in the ass to enjoy playing.

I have to say though, I felt the same exact way about the first and I really enjoyed the second one. It felt like everything I hated about the original was fixed in the sequel.

I only picked the sequel up because my CAG senses tingled when the Zombrex edition was really cheap on Amazon and I was happy I did.

A random thought and a far reach inside the rectal cavity of hope: Decay games will go on sale for Halloween.

/end wishful thinking

Okay I didn't like case zero but as I played it more I liked it more. So I bought case west but apparently that takes place after dead rising 2 so I'll hold onto it. I went and bought dead rising 1 from amazon warehouse for $5.49. Good price considering case west is on sale for $5.

Just so you're not surprised, Case Zero made a lot of improvements to the original Dead Rising. It's still fun if you get into it, but the controls aren't as good and they people you're trying to save are basically useless at protecting themselves. I still think you'll get at least $5.49 of fun out of it, though.

Heed Surreal_Sunshine's warning about the first Dead Rising game. It is way more raw in its refinement but at the time, early in the 360's life just after the launch window, it was fresh having a sandbox feel of a zombie outbreak.

The raw aspects include the retarded AI which you have to escort (I was appauled with an achievement asking for 8 to be simultaneously escorted back alive, much more so for 8 females ... I maxed out at 6). Yet, in the acquired taste necessary to enjoy the game, I see it as a showing of badassery by you as Frank West: sure YOU can survive the zombie apocalypse, but Frank West is so badass he can also save 50+ retarded people in the process (another achievement I missed, I had 45+).

You do that all while taking calls from Otis Washington (screw you Otis), whom I believe calls you at the worst times possible, never at good times; I know he watching the security cams, he just chooses to call you right when you are grappled by a zombie (then has the nerve to tell you it is rude to hang up on someone mid-conversation).

I know the first game can feel restrictive with its constant pressure to do thing within a certain time limit, not allowing you to freely enjoy the game world Capcom has built. Also in the first iteration, there is only one save which you carry through, so that your success and failures carry through your playthroughs (if you only have one device to save to, like the HDD).

The achievements are typical of most early 360 game achievements: where they are honestly achievements to do. So if you hate having a low percentage of achievements for a title, the game may not be for you. A couple of achievements ask you to play the game nonstop for 10-14 hours.

I found the first Dead Rising an impressive showing of Japanese game development. I still believe the are capable of making quality games in the land of the rising sun, they just need to put effort into it. A sandbox game involving lots of on-screen characters. However silly the details, I still found the narrative quite enjoyable. As a launch-window type of game it exhibited technology liberating the devs creativity with added horsepower from a previous generation's hardware. However, by now the game may feel raw and lacking sophistication, but that's how it is when establishing a new brand.

Relating all this nonesense back to DotW, it is on sale, but you may want to explore finding the disc version which could be found for cheaper. It is a platinum hits title, it is old, and it is even in a platinum hits bundle pack with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet Colonies.

For what it's worth, DR1 was rough but still quite good. The most fun I had with it were the boss battles it did right. A few were really dumb, basically anyone with a gun, but Adam and Cliff and to a lesser extent Jo were great hack and slash bosses if you didn't cheese them with the overpowered weapons.
