Xbox 360 HDMI

I have a regular Xbox 360 (the white one with a 20gb hard drive) with an HDMI. I also have a 1080p lcd hdtv, my question is what do i need to connect it to my xbox 360 to my tv to get full 1080p, do i just need an hdmi cable or do i need the Microsoft hdmi cable with the sound adapter thing?

You really only need the sound adapter if your going to use a surround sound. If you using the tv speakers then an hdmi will work for both sound and 1080p video resolution

You just need an HDMI cable. The microsoft one is just if you want to use optical audio out.

Just HDMI it will supply audio as well. You only need the sound adapter if you have a sound system you want to use.

ok thanks everybody, looks like ill be buying the extra adapter to get surround sound from some old speakers, I should get sound from both right?
