I was looking to buy the Xbox Live Messenger Kit pretty much since it comes with a headset. (I have a wireless one and I need a backup for when the battery craps out on me.)

I've found some between the $22-$25 range before shipping, but can't seem to find much of anything else. Anyone know of any place cheaper?

The wired headset that is included with the kit is a major piece of shit. I've never actually got it to work.

Unless you actually want the Chatpad, I recommend you just stick with your wireless one.

wtf are u talking about?

headset works just fine TC, and u can also use it for other things since it has a normal connection, unlike the headset that is sold separately with the three prongs or whatever.

Honestly the only thing I can think of is http://expertzone.microsoft.com/Welcome.aspx

If you work for something like Gamestop or any retailer that sells Microsoft products you can sign up and complete Microsoft knowledge test thingies and get the kit for $15 shipped I believe.

And as for the headset that comes with it, it seems to crap out on me sometimes and stop working when it wants to. Probably just my unit tho. Chatpad is great however.
