Xbox Live Subscription Deals?

I just got an Xbox360 on the cheap (repaired a RROD'd unit). I do most of my online gaming on the PS3 and PC, but if I do decide to play 360 online, what's the best deal for a subscription?

PS: i find this Xbox Live tax completely unacceptable.
 
The best is if you can find a clearanced card/kit. They show up on the forums frequently. The best I've had is $12.48 for 1 year, headset, and 1 game for the original Xbox. Original Xbox cards DO work for the 360.

I'm looking for another now, too, since that one is almost expired.

Rumor has it the current batch of cards expires at the end of June, so they will be clearanced. "Expiration" isn't really an issue, though, you can use expired cards. Just need to call MS.
 
you can buy a Halo 3 edition 12+1 month card off Buy.com for $42.99 ( $32.99 if you use google checkout as new customer). Or just find an online shop that uses GCO and you can save yourself $10, best places are the one's with free shipping or tax.
 
What do you guys think about buying codes on Ebay?

13month subscriptions are going for about $20, but you only get the code. Is this a scam?
