Your DS Games Collection
ok - so i'm seeing a couple of you guys - botticus and sixersballernum3 specifically - have some neat looking storage shelves - CD storage shelves? Where did you get em? I'm kinda on the lookout for some decent storage for GBA and DS games and wouldn't mind some advice - thanks.
Sorry, but I couldn't tell you where I got mine. I actually took it from my neighbors who are moving. They used it for a CD holder, which I was going to do for my spare CD cases, but I decided to try it for my DS games real quick since I could never find something that could hold them nicely. Turns out it holds them perfectly.

Sorry. :'[

botticus- Wow, I really like that! I'll have to check OfficeMax sometime, as I would love one of those. It would be great to store my PS2 games, and all my DVDs that I'm running out of room for. I appreciate the info!

You must be rolling in cash docramon

And btw, doesn't it feel good to have them arranged alphabetically?

Aaaaahhh, it wouldn't feel right any other way....

Here's what I got:

Super Mario 64 DS
Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits
Yu-Gi-Oh: Nightmare Troubadour
Nintendogs: Lab & Friends
Trauma Center
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
You must be rolling in cash docramon
nope... i just don't do anything else really. spend my money on bills, food, gas, and DS games. i don't really play other systems... sold a lot of my old stuff to fund this collection. i have a good job, a two-income household.

collecting is surprisingly easy when you're old enough to have a job, focused enough to devote yourself to one thing, and boring enough to not use money on other stuff.

How in the heck do you bring in the funds for so many GAMES?!

Are you traffiking slave children? :whistle2:#
Unfortunately I can't find mine online... they go on sale at OfficeMax fairly frequently. I bought one unit a year ago, then bought the second (the one in the pics) around Thanksgiving. They run about $35 when marked down, and as of now, the one holds 86 GC games, 29 DS games, 27 GBA games, and some space left over - dimensions are 20x60. Also a smaller 12x60, but that's not worth it for $10 less. All shelves (other than the middle where the two halves connect) are adjustable.

Luckily I will be moving to a two-bedroom apt next month so I will have room to get a third unit and split the games up, and bring my NES/SNES out of the cabinets.

Here's the full view:

Woah, those are awesome. You wouldn't happen to have any more info on them, would you(approximate last time you saw it on sale or in general, regular cost, brand name)? I'm in desperate need of new storage for my media. Ever since I painted and rearranged my room, all my CDs and PS2/GBA/NDS games are stuck in a big plastic tub in my closet. Thanks.

I'm fairly certain they're an OfficeMax exclusive item, though I don't recall any specific brand. If you have an OfficeMax near you, you probably wouldn't have any difficulty finding them with the rest of the office furniture. I think the regular cost was around $50-$60 for the 20" (pictured). Last sale was around the holiday season (November/December).
Thanks, I'll check it out this weekend.
I was over at OfficeMax this weekend and return with some more details regarding shelving units:

The brand of the ones I have is "Office Edition", which judging by the rest of the furniture there, is an OfficeMax brand.

All of these were clearanced at my store (black and oak), so I will probably be picking one up as soon as I determine which size:

12x60: $25
20x60: $40
36x60: $60

The 20x60 are the ones I have, the 36x60 is an interesting design... the vertical divider is off-center, something like an 70/30 split. Debating which of those I'd rather buy at this point.

And my DS collection has grown by two since I posted pics :whistle2:(

thanks botticus for the info - I am gonna go down to my officemax hopefully sometime this week and look for them.

(hehe my ds collection has grown by 6 since my last post - thanks to gs/eb b2g1f deal and various other hot deals here)
