I'm not going to break it down into categories or anything just wondering what movies you liked. Obviously I haven't seen many (most) movies but of the ones I have these are my favorites:

We're The Millers

Saving Mr Banks

Frozen

The Spectacular Now

Captain Phillips

Movies I feel I wasted my time watching:

Pacific Rim.

Without a doubt Pacific Rim. The IMax 3D and sound was so damn awesome, when Gipsy shows up carrying the tanker ship and the bass heavy theme of Gipsy's comes on I wanted to chest bump someone so hard.

Otherwise rounding out my top 5 in no order would be Evil Dead remake, Anchorman 2, This is the End and World's End.

 
It's always hard for me to remember what even came out this year, so I'll try to remember some standouts.

Wow, I never realized how terrible this year was for movies. I have yet to see Anchorman 2 or The Wolf or Wall street, so I cant say for those either way. But aside from those two the only good movie all year long was The Place Beyond the Pines.

Oh I almost forgot, Out of the Furnace was good too!

Edit: Wolf of Wall st was boring. Way too long. The Book Thief was excellent. A must see.

Just saw Captain Phillips and I'll add that as one of my favorites for the year. Excellent movie. I like Tom Hanks though so that probably helped.

I only saw a few movies that came out this year: Frozen, Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, The Hobbit & Star Trek

All of which I enjoyed, but I have to say Frozen was my favorite out of the four.

I don't really enjoy the theater experience like I used to. I guess I'm getting older and people kinda get on my nerves. I perfer to wait for the BlueRay. But I have to say I enjoy a good TV series over a good movie any day.

The fact you marked which movies were free and One Direction wasn't one of them is a huge El oh El
 
I didn't really watch very many movies that were released in 2013, but of the few that I did, I recommend Philomena.  I'm an action/sci-fi guy through and through but still really enjoyed it (google it for a synopsis).  Judi Dench is great in it.

Also saw 12 Years a Slave, very good with good acting throughout -- also very difficult to watch in certain parts.
