forum feature request: hide threads

I really want a feature to hide threads so that I won't see them next time on default view. There could be a quick button somewhere to undo this. Problem I have is that since the deals forum is so active that I need to go through 3-4 pages worth (much more if I haven't visited for more than a day) to find couple of deals I might like. Most of the updated threads are the ones I already passed on.

Now if there was a way to hide threads you don't care about, that will make the deals forum much more usable. Imagine you hide a thread for XXXXX game and not have it show up every time you visit. I can't be the only one who missed out on deals because I was skimming the thread titles quickly because most of them are updated repeat of last visit.

I like this idea. I think the ability to hide threads I didn't care about would be great.

Just a picture on how much this feature will save on clutter: [as of 5:30 of EST of today] 13 out of 35 threads on the first page of deals forum were created more than a week ago. Week is very conservative but most likely people will visit CAG for deals every few day at least. So it might have been better to use 3-4 days instead.

That's about 1/3 of threads you'll see over and over and over again on your every visit even though you aren't interested in them or already took advantage of those deals.

Some other forums using the same type of forum software have an "ignore thread" option in the thread tools menu that makes them not show up for that user. And there's then a list of these in the user CP (similar to the ignored users list) where you can manage them and unignore them etc.

Great for reducing clutter, hiding a thread that you've spent to much time debating in etc., so I'd love to see that feature enabled here.

Really want this feature too.  I keep poking through the settings, trying to find "hide" or "ignore" -- as if it's been silently added.

I don't want to wade through 95% of threads multiple times after I've already disqualified the thread as being of value to me.

Very important for a site with content that is so diverse (many systems, many genres, many prices, different media formats).

A feature like this would be amazingly awesome.  Everyone has different tastes in games and deals.  I for one don't do any PC gaming nor do I ever buy special editions or collectors editions.  I could de-clutter about half of my front page by just removing those two types of threads.  It would be awesome.

Just bumping because I still think this feature would be so awesome.  There are currently 10 pinned threads at the top of the deals page that I don't care about.  I'd love to be able to hide them.

Still checking in to see when this could be implemented.
