Gruden and Cower top my wish list. Seems like everyone is hot and heavy for McCoy from Denver's staff. Seems just about every team is talking to him or setting up an interview (except for AZ who seem to have their heart set on the Walrus...)

Cowher is waiting for Coughlin to retire (may happen) or get canned (not happening).

Yeah, they are all set. They also have Vereen and Woodhead whose skills compliment Ridley. They've developed one of the better running games in the league, certainly top 10. Upgrading there would be a total waste of resources.

All the Pats need to be concerned with is resigning Welker or otherwise replacing his production and then continuing to work on the secondary (keeping Talib would be a huge boost there).

I really hope Welker gets to retire as a Pat. He is my favorite player since troy brown retired

If Coughlin doesn't retire soon, Cowher's going to be out of the coaching loop for too long to be a difference anymore.

I'm not buying that bullshit. Dick Vermeil was out of the game for 15 years and led the fucking Rams to SB champs in 3 seasons, and I think most people would argue that Cowher is a better coach than Vermeil.

The game is different now, it's going to be hard for Cowher to come back and be good. Also, no coach has won a Super Bowl with another team so hiring Cowher puts not winning a Super Bowl in your greater favor.

Meh, I'd rather have him as a coach than Rivera.

Richardson, still waiting on that one there, chief.

I don't know. I wonder if Coughlin's time is just up in NY. He is a GREAT coach. He is well-prepared, smart with clock-management and he always surrounds himself with smart assistants/coordinators. I can't help but think that the Giants underachieved this year (by a lot - ridiculous schedule notwithstanding) and I wonder if that means the players are starting to tune him out. I'm not saying Cowher would have done any better but he is a great coach as well and players may respond to a different voice.

If that's the case, I wouldn't mind to see Coughlin come to Carolina. I've always thought he was a great coach, even back when he coach the Jags.

People were saying this 54 weeks ago just a lot louder, and then of course they won the Super Bowl.

This is why I think Coughlin will get to leave/retire on his own terms. He has certainly earned it. 2 Super Bowls in 5 years and they have made the playoffs with more regularity - that should earn you a couple of "off" years. The Maras are good owners too and I think they realize this.

I know a lot of teams can claim this but if a few plays had gone the other way this year they would be back in (2 HUGE missed FGs by Tynes basically cost them 2 games). Last play in Eagles game was dead center but like 3 yards short and he missed a very important one in the second Washington game that they ended up losing by 1 point. Could have meant a home playoff game and very very tough match-ups for the 49ers and Packers. Dammit. Now I'm depressed again.

The one thing I don't understand about the Giants, why are they so awful in the second half every year under Coughlin? Numbers don't lie, but I have no reason to pin it on.

A lot of it is schedule-related. For some reason during the past 5-7 years they have almost had an easier first half schedule. I'm always looking at the schedule in the beginning of the year and thinking we have to be 6-2 or 7-3 by the bye week if we want a shot at the playoffs. It's probably just a scheduling anomaly.

This season they played 2 playoff teams in the first half (6-2 record) and 5(!) in the second half (3-5 record). The other 3 teams that didn't make the playoffs in the second half schedule were the Steelers, Saints (2 tough teams) and the Eagles (division rival). Honestly, the only games I thought were "easy wins" at the time were the Bucs and the Browns and BOTH games the Giants were down by 14 points at some point.

They didn't deserve to make the playoffs but I think they are better than the Redskins and Vikings who got in and they are capable of beating the other 4 teams (they already killed the Packers and 49ers). I think the Bears can say the same thing too. Oh well.... next year.

Maybe they should start taking away gamechecks if the Giants secondary continues to shit the bed like they do, they all need to be fired. I think Peyton Hillis could probably beat Corey Webster on a route with ease. Have nobody to blame but themselves for missing the playoffs once again after having a significant lead in the division.

Ray Lewis retiring after this season.

You'd be surprised what some of the baseball players in the Hall of Fame from the late 1800s and early 1900s did.

But yeah, it is sad to see Ray go. Even though I am a Cowboy fan at heart, Ray Lewis will always be my most favorite and entertaining player. I can finally frame and hang-up my Ray Lewis jerseys now.

Yea, most baseball players from back in the day were slobs and/or jackasses. Had they done most of their stuff today, they would be in a similar category as Milton Bradley or Barry Bonds.

Yeah man. I realize that I'm a bit biased being a longtime Maryland native (and humongous Ravens fan), but having followed the Ravens since they came to town in 96, it seems like the dude has really turned his life around since that incident.

Wish I could be there for his (likely) last home game tomorrow, but can't afford to drop $300 on a pair of nosebleeds.

I'm making my meaningless weekend picks early. I think Houston and Baltimore both win booting out the lower seeds in the AFC.

I think Seattle wins, and while Minn plays it close. I think GB wins as well.

Seattle over Washington - Seattle can actually stop the run unlike Dallas
Green Bay over Minnesota - AP can't do it all, and I wouldn't bank on a decent game from Ponder

Cincinnati over Houston - Houston has been on the fall, while Cincy has been on the rise. I will take the hot hand here.
Baltimore over Indy - This will probably be the closest game, but the Ravens will come out on top.

The same was true last year and Houston steamrolled them. With TJ Yates. Just saying. :D

Wouldn't surprise me if Cincy won, but I think the Texans have at least one good game left in them.

Houston > Cincinnati - Houston will get back on track, for one game at least.
Green Bay > Minnesota - Christian Ponder will throw many picks

Indianapolis > Baltimore - Old v. Young here. I think young wins.
Washington > Seattle - 2 rookies > 1 rookie

I'm going with:

Texans over Bengals (though I'd love a Cincy upset)
Ravens over Colts (Luck wont have any luck in the playoffs)
Packers over Vikings (Ponder is not a playoff QB)
Seahawks over Redskins (closest game of the 4)

I'd be pretty surprised as well. I think people are seriously overrating this Colts team. They've been outscored for the season and only have two quality wins, both at home, over the Packers and Texans when each was playing their worst football of the year. They are no doubt an exciting team, but that defense is just horrible and is likely to make the Ravens offense look pretty good.

I don't think this Ravens team is that good either, but this feels like a game they're going to win at home.

I don't think this has been posted yet, but Rex Ryan apparently has an interesting tattoo and I'm sorry that somebody actually had to see him with his shirt off with a picture as proof. Go ahead and think up what you think the tattoo is and I'll post the answer here in spoilers so you can see how close you are:
