thanks for the input and advice.
In this new generation I swore that I only was going to get a PS4
I lost interest in XBONE and honestly I was starting to hate it, because of the BS that microsoft pulled, the low specs that it has and on top of it the Kinect gimmick.
Im a harcore gamer, not interested in the cable/TV feature that Xbone offers.
the logical system for me is PS4
but,for $374 and without tax, I think Im willing to take a risk on the low res box and Microsoft's BS.
Not a problem. I used to always get new consoles on release but between the backlog and less time to game I have been getting more selective. Wii U was the first I skipped (still waiting on, probably until new Zelda).
For Xbox One even though I loved my Xbox 360 first the lack of first party support in 2013 left a bad taste in my mouth and then the whole DRM/always online fiasco I am still somewhat upset over. It may seem petty but I like paying money for tangible goods, not digital where my ownership is at the whim of the content provider. As much as I love games if we ever see Digital Only gaming I may rethink being a gamer. Couple that with the back to back launches and I decided to wait a few months to see if they tried pulling anything with the DRM policies.
As for the Xbox One, even if you don't plan on using the TV/Media features there are still cool features you can benefit from. I was fairly anti-Kinect before getting the system and when I set it off I turned off all the Kinect functions it allows. But a few days later my friend came over to play with the Xbox One as he was debating getting one as well and he wanted to try the Kinect features and through watching that I decided to give them a try and have enjoyed it.
What seems like they would be stupid little things like automatically logging you in when it sees you, redeeming codes just by holding it up rather than typing in all the numbers now make it feel like going backwards when using PS3 and 360 which is how a cross generational gap should feel. However, I am also a tech lover so I may be more predisposed to things like that.
But hell, even if you want nothing to do with any Kinect features or other media functions the system has I still think it makes owning both worthwhile. Your X1 may not get as much use as the PS4, but over the generation I am sure both systems will have great exclusives that no gamer should have to miss out on.
The X1's choice of RAM is the biggest thing that befuddles me. Lack of RAM was one of the most complained about issues developers had with systems last gen that I kept reading about, I don't understand why they would short change themselves when I am sure a company like Microsoft would have access to GDDR5 RAM at a small price increase compared to GDDR3.
could be, especially with the news from m$ restarting the plan of loaning /sharing plan digital xbox one games coming back. a discless/ no disc tray version xbox one seems even more possible in the future, as a way to entice people to buy a discless xbox one.

I read that this morning on IGN. The quote that they still believe in the system they pitched last year has be skeptical of their plans. I hope they don't have anything like that planned.
