REALLY looking forward to this! Best part, its only $30!!!

The existance of the new Wii version of the game is old news (includes PS2 bonus, but has GCN graphics, etc), but I hadn't heard of the date or that fuckin sweet price.
Is it worth it to get this if you have the PS2 or GC version already? That $30 price tag makes it tempting.
Once general consensus says that the motion controls add to the game, it will become the definitive version - best graphics (GameCube build with full widescreen support), PS2 extras, best control.

Only if you LOVE the game, as with any re-release/enhanced port/whatever.

I'm passing as I'm just now playing through the GC version and think that, while good, it's far from the "best game ever" hype many put on it. An 8.0/10 at best for me (at Ch. 5-1 currently).

Yay, a date. I'll probably be picking this up, since I haven't played any version of RE4. Not sure when, though.
Better cover but I'm probably not going to pick this up since I'm happy with my Gamecube version.
I'm guessing that the cover seen on the EB product page is just a placeholder...

yeah I bet the cover will have like Leon and Ada on it, and it would be funny if they were holding wii remotes instead of their handguns
I think we've known about the $30 pricing... but could this date just be an EBGamestop placeholder date?
Possible, but usually their placeholder dates are the first, 15th, or last day of the month.

You don't hear that a lot. I went into RE4 as someone who played the first RE and then didn't give a shit about the rest--not a big RE or even gaming horror fan, in other words. The game blew me away, and it's still probably the last great game I played.

I think the pricing, the updates, and the little bit of extra content is spot on. So many people bitch "OMG GC port" when they see this, SPM, LoZ:TP, etc. While I can see that with both SPM and TP, as they feel to me like GC titles at heart, I don't get it with RE4. The game exceeded the GC so much that it felt like it was booting itself up, like the RE4 game disc had its own CPU, GPU, etc. It's almost like Capcom was pushing the game for the "next GC," and I'm glad that they came out with something for the Wii.

Provided that there are updates, content, and spiffy prices involved, I'd be happy to rebuy some of my GC titles ported to the Wii. A lot of people hate it, but Luigi's Mansion for the Wii could be a nice pickup with a $25 price tag and some extras. There are a number of GC titles that would polish nice for the Wii: that is, new graphics, controls, added content, budget price would make them very attractive. I'm hoping RE4 sets a great precedent.

I liked the original Resident Evil and I thought Code Veronica was pretty good (didn't care for 2 or 3)...the REmake was pretty good but zero was boring. Resident Evil 4, on the other hand, was the last great game I played too (only game other than Eternal Darkness and REmake that I played more than once in the past 5 years), and I just finished playing Zelda: TP last month. Widescreen support, PS2 extras and Wii controls? I'll buy this game again.

Ah, I see. Didn't know that. Good to see that this may well be a fairly concrete date!

I love Resident Evil 4 (it's easily one of my favorite games of all time), and I can't wait to play it on the Wii, mostly because RE4 was one of the first games I thought would be really cool to play with a Wiimote and nunchuck.
The $30 price tag is great (and is what the Wii version of Prince of Persia should have cost). I'll be buying this the day it comes out.

Great, now I have something to play on my Wii over the summer. (Yes, I know about SPM but I'm can't afford $50 for a game... I probably shouldn't be buying this either.)
SWEET! 5 Days before the GGC expires! I know what i'll be using my last GGC on.
I was thinking about the exact same thing!!

Right on, I hope that date's right. I'll be picking this up for sure. I just finally played thru RE4 for the first time a week or two ago on the Wii. And I'm pumped to play it again on the Wii properly.
If it has REAL widescreen support, I'll buy it. Otherwise Capcom can suck it,
It has true widescreen support.
Woop, this will be my second Wii game after TP (which I still have to beat...)
hells yea dood. i guess TP would be considered my 2nd game cuz of Wii Sports, but yea. Second game i'm gonna spend moneys on.

This is probably up amidst Half-Lifes 1 and 2, the NOLF games, Thief 2, and a few others as one of the finest games I have ever played, so I think I WILL buy it for... what now makes three times... (The second time was on clearance.)
