I just spent the whole day searching in 4 different citys looking for them, when will I be able to find one? Its driving me insane. I could order from Amazon, but its like $300+ there. *gasp* what if I dont find one before MP3 comes out o_O

You gotta go early in the morning (before they open) and pretty much line up at a store to get one.

I've seen them sitting on store shelves (at Target and Kmart) so they should be getting more and more common.
Which store? And do they get new in stock everyday? Cause I dont want to go there for nothing...again.
check your local Auto Zone

Get to a store (Target, Best Buy, etc.) at opening on Sunday morning. Be there like 2-3 hours before, and you should get a Wii. Emphasis on SHOULD.

I think Circuit City is going to have Wiis on Sunday, but since most CAG's hate Circuit City now (the whole Speedy incident), it's really up to you. But, find it where you can.

Gamestops get their Wii's around noon, so call around 1 for those .. Target and KMart supposely get theirs in the morning, as does Walmart. Check local ads to see if they're advertising and shoot them a call, thats how I did mine .. I kept a spreadsheet since I asked when their last shipment was, and just called daily, took two days.

Hopefully they're slowly becoming easier to find, but all of the above should be good advice.

Then again, sometimes it just works out to luck. Just the other day on a random shopping trip, I ran across 2 at a GameStop and about 10 sitting in the case at Wal-Mart at around 7pm. I guarantee you that they were all gone within a few hours, but it really does sometimes come down to just being in the right place at the right time.

Good luck! :)

Happened to go into TRU yesterday around noon, where I was greeted by signs proclaiming "Nintendo Wii in stock!" I actually forgot to look in the case when I was there, but I think they may have been sold out unless they were in the back - no bright white box jumped out at me.

I know at my local Walmart and other stores around here, they're generally kept in the back .. so even if you don't see one, ask if your there.

Just watch the store ads. Circuit City, Best Buy and Target have all been holding them and just selling them all on advertised Sundays once every month to six weeks.

Just see the ad, then get to the store before opening that Sunday and you should get one.

I had been holding off on buying one because we just had our first kid a month ago. I told myself if I ever saw it go into stock on Amazon on a whim, I'd buy one.

Sure enough, on Friday afternoon, I was on Amazon, went to the Wii page, loaded it, it was out of stock, reloaded the page and it went in stock.

Not sure how I get it past the wife, but I put in my order for a system + an extra set of controllers. I figure we can try to give ourselves a break from the kid.

The ads are posted a week early here...with info if a store will have it in-stock. Why not actually use that, get there an hour early, and buy one? I still don't understand how hard these are to 'find' when all it takes is reading a simple post here at CAG and going at a certain time.

GameCrazy stores received a ton on Monday. My store has 18 left as of today, another local store has 15 new and 1 used one.

If you have a GameCrazy, check that.

I saw several Wiis at my local Walmart and Toys R Us on Wenesay (the first time I've seen any in local stores since I got mine at launch), so they may be getting easier to find.

Went to TRU for the madden deal around 4pm, saw Wii System in the glass case. Didnt buy it, went back the next day when they opened at 10am, sold 2 (had another 2 in the back) within 10 minutes of them opening.

Try Craigslist, you can get them close to retail most of the time, just saw an article saying that Nintendo can't up production as planned because they can't get enough IC chips and PCB's Here it is for what it's worth :

wii is free to track on this website; can choose from 10 local stores and have text messages sent to your cell phone or email for a month

I'm surprised at how many people want one, can't find one, but aren't willing to pay a dime above retail price despite them going so long without a Wii. Even ebay doesn't go above retail that often from what I've seen.

If it did I'd totally sell mine, haven't touched it for more than a few minutes in months.

Cant beleive Wii's are hard to find still. My parents just went to the Game Stop and were told Sears had a new shipment that day. I think I was lucky becuase this was back at the start of May.

I haven't paid much attention to iTrackr lately, but it shows that all three Circuit Cities in the vicinity have it in stock... might be a good place to check.

I paid $30 over retail about a week or two after release last november for my son, and we have been playing it ever since, I have seen them on Craigslist for $15 over reail, but I quess some people like to run from store to store and waste their gas for weeks (some months) to save $15-$30, I never understood this, but that is their right.

They would rather spend hours going from store to store in there SUV then spend an extra $20 and get it off someone on Craigslist.

Hmmm, definetly get their before opening or an hour or so before the shipments arrive. However, Nintendo did just make a statement that the production boost that was supposed to happen in June never happened, so it might still be a little hard to nail one down.

Good Luck my friend.

CCs were holding their stock for todays ad.

Just got back from a local Best Buy to get a couple DVDs and--NO WAY!!--there was a pile/display of about 8-10 Wii in the middle of the floor. This was from approximately 90 minutes ago. First time I've seen them 'in the wild', and I have to say, I was sincerely shocked. Funny how one's geek urges make you want to grab something you've already got, just because it's hard to get.

Even money says they're all gone by now. What with work letting out and such.

Just came back from a hunt, empty handed. Gamestop said they would have them in stock at 10:00 tomorrow morning, so I'll be there. I swear, if I dont get one, I'm taking one of there display boxes and throwing it at someone. >.>

I saw one today at Sams Club.. started to buy it.. but I'm so undecided on Wii at this time.

I think my joy is in the thrill of the hunt, and buying something that's scarce.

My local CC "claims" to have some via their availability, and Gamestop has a couple around here, so I'd check both those places tomorrow.

They key is to go to the store when it's in the ad for Sunday. The stores are holding the shipments for the ads. I went at noon on Sunday the week that Best Buy said 12 per store minimum...and they still had 4 left.

Here's to hoping you get one!

I've been wanting one since launch. I have still to find one, and I actually gave up and spent the Wii fund on college textbooks for fall and on my now ex's bday.

Bad investment on the latter.

I always see a bunch here in my area, it's about ~90 min drive though.

This is a great post.

"spent the Wii fund on college" - most people reverse 'Wii' and 'college'

"Bad investment on the latter."

Well I just got back from Gamestop. I am so happy. I did like you guys said, and got an hour early before it even opened. Heres how my day went.

So my grandma takes me over to Boerne (its a city) and theres a Wal-Mart and Gamestop right next to eachother, but seperated by a ditch. Anyways, we first drive by GS and see that it has these bars inside it, kinda like a jail. I guess they use those to keep out the lamers. So I'm like "Well, there not open yet. Lets go to Wal-Mart and do what we need to do", so we go there.

I go in there and its freezing, I'm literally holding myself and my teeth are chattering like mad (I'm skinny >.>), and I can't wait to get out of there. Turns out all we went there for was for some Donuts for my Great-Grandma. So while were there, I head to the game section, as it may be possible they have a Wii in stock. So I go, casually looking in the glass containers (Nobodys playing, because its about 9:30 and nobodys there, kinda creepy), and see PS3's and Xbox360's, but no Wii's. So I start to head out, and my grandma says "Shouldnt you ask an employee? Just because there not in view, doesnt mean there not in stock", so I say "Nah, I doubt it. Its Wal-Mart after all".

We then head back to GS. And wait, and wait. Finally it opens, and I go in. "Welcome to Gamestop", some employee tells me. "Hi, I came here yesterday, and another employee said you would be getting Wii's today?", and the man replied "Well, were not sure when were getting them, but I'm certain it will be today", so I browse around the $9.00 and Under Bins, and see nothing. I strike up a conversation with him. (I could tell you all we talked about, but I dont think anybody here really cares) People leave, People go. Then it happens O_O

A UPS man came in, with a small brown box. I'm thinking in my mind "pwease, pwease be a wii ^^", and the employee said "HEY, the Wii's are in!", yay me. So after waiting for about 6 - 8 people to check out, its finally my turn to checkout. Theres another person next, and the employee said "Are you ready?", and I said I needed to get some games. So I go outside, and get some games to trade in. I come back, with the bag o' games. I lay them out, and he asks for my edge card, I give it. Then a Man with his daughter comes in, and they both look real nice. He asks if they have any Wii's left, and the employee tells him theres 2, one would go to me (he points at me) and the other to the man. The man shouted with joy, "FINALLY, WE GOT A WII!", I'm thinking this guy is nuts.

So as I'm waiting for the employee to total of the used game trade in values, the man gets impatient. He asks me nicely if he could get ahead of my in line (Remmber, its just me and him :/), and I'm like Umm I dont know. He takes out his wallet and gives me a $10. I step out of the way, "Here you go", I say.

So yeah, the man gives me $10 for him to cut, if he would have waited maybe 3 more min, he would have been out of there.

These are the games I traded in (I have no idea what most this stuff means, there layout is weird on the receipt).

Also, all were disc only and heavely scratched. Those last 2 games were from that Tropicana Contest, they were new to >.>

So if you read the other posts, yesterday GS was willing to give me $30 for those 2 sealed 360 games, and today over $45. Whats up with that?

So my Wii ended up costing me $186.80, and I reserver Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and Smash Brawl. They said they werent accepting reserves on Smash Brawl after Saturday, as it was the most anticipated game. He showed me the list of well over 200 reservations. Wow.

Now I'm happy :D

Chances are the $30 was base value, the $45 is with the 30% extra + 10% Edge.

Yep, local Gamestop has it here too .. btw, if you'd asked at Walmart, they might have had one too .. they (atleast here) kept them in the back unless asked for, which helps when your looking for one and people don't ask because they do what you did, lol .. thats how I got mine.

That means it could have been at Wal-Mart this entire time. But I would have rather done it at GS, due to the trade in credit.
I guess they use those to keep out the lamers.
Couldn't read past that part, but congrats on getting a Wii, and whatever crazy antics that post included.
