New Store in Portland

Don't know if this is the right place/reason to post but figured I'd throw it up here. In Portland on Barbur, between the Burlingame Fred Meyer and Capitol Highway, there is a new Play-N-Trade. It's in the shopping center with the Bellagio's Pizza and Taco Del Mar, beside the Chevron. I've seen some deals on this site before and figured I'd send the heads-up.

Their prices seem high on most used stuff, but then a friend of mine found a minty used Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for $40, so I guess it's worth popping in there every now and then.

They mentioned that they also opened one in Battle Ground.

Good luck all.

It really is very overpriced on most things. I saw Oddworld Stranger selling there for $45 used, when I picked it up for 10 a month ago from Amazon.

Stores like this are playing to normal consumers, not people like us. If they get a good deal in, I'll bite, but I live across the street from one and I don't see myself going in very often.

Hey, I was just up there the other day and noticed this same store I think, but I was too busy to stop in. This is right near this completely hidden and very cool area of Portland I had no idea existed (and neither did my wife and she grew up in Portland). I forget what it is called - I think "old Multnomah" district or something. It had some nice stores and a great little Mexican Restaurant. We saw the game place on our way back to I-5 from there. I intend to go back up there some time so I'll check out the game store then too. I get completely lost up there with all the windy roads though. Maybe I ought to open that GPS I got online on Black Friday .

I stopped at the one at Battleground, and while the store's pretty, everything seemed overpriced.

They're also opening one in Portland on Washington & 9osomethingth, right off the 205 exit

I saw Play-N-Trade's table at NWCGE last year and I wasn't impressed. Seemed overpriced and all the used stuff shrinkwrapped. I hate it when places do that (just means you can't look thru it first). I've seen a couple Play-N-Trades around but haven't bothered to stop in.

I believe this chain is the old Gametrader with a new name. Remember the one that used to be at janzen beach? That place was a joke

A new one opened up in Fairview a few weeks ago as well. I stopped in a few times but found it also to be over priced. I did buy one used title for a friend but overall their used prices are super high.

I did feel bad for the people that work there though since last weekend they had to stand outside the store in some sort of super hero outfit with a sign pointing to the store. Talk about embarrassing.
