Help, My TVersity doesn't work!

shaveice

CAGiversary!
After I updated my Norton (I guess it's a 2008 version now) my TVersity doesn't work. Just keeps saying "Connecting to Computer" or something like that. My 360 is boring without music! Help!

why are u using tversity still
the update allowed for divx and xvid so u shouldnt need tversity and u could always play music without tversity...

Tversity will let you do mkvs and other formats still.
Just check your firewall settings and try restarting the tversity server.

Not everyone has Media Center >_
you need to make it an approved (or whatever) program for norton so it stops blocking it
\

I did that. Still doesn't work.

Bump. If anything how do I get the TVersity name out of my list of things to connect to and swap it with my computer?

do you just add the content to your WMP library? i've just stuck with tversity because i already have it set up with the content i want streamed.
Have you tried Windows Media Player? Why use TVersity when WMP works great?
It DOESNT work for me ...

You need Windows XP Media Center Edition.

I have Windows XP.
im streaming videos music and pictures with windows xp home i dont have media center
How'd you do it? My 360 doesn't detect a computer, and Xbox.com says I need it.
well if ur 360 can detect tversity then windows media player should detect it as well then its basically the same thing
Right now Tversity is fcking up so ahh.

I tried going to MediaCenter or some ish like that (the one with the record live shows junk).

Said to go to this site: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/pcsetup/alldownloads.htm

To connect the Xbox 360 console to this computer, you must be running Windows XP Service Pack 2, Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, or Windows Vista.
To obtain your setup package or instructions for connecting your Xbox 360, select the version of Windows installed on this computer from the following list.
Tversity is replacing my comp, I dunno how to reset it so it says Connect to Comp instead of Tversity on my menu.

Hm..

*Edit*
So yeah, I can't get it to work. I need more than just "use WMP use WMP" I have 11, ish doesn't work. I need a step by step from ground zero man. I dunno whats up

Ok, do you have XP with service pack 2? Then it should work.

Update to the latest Windows Media Player.

Then, open WMP and go to the Library tab.

Next, select Media Sharing. Check the two boxes up top, then allow your 360 to share with your network.

I think that's literally it. If TVersity works, this should work.

Did that months ago. Doesn't work. Next?

And again, Tversity doesn't work

uninstall tversity...then go to the media blade and click on video....push the x button to select other source and then select your pc...then you will be taken to your pc's my pictures and my videos folders....the rest is pretty obvious

also.....when you do the new install of WMP 11 make sure that tversity is already fully uninstalled and have the xbox on and connected to your home network and after the install go to the library tab and select media sharing and allow all/allow the xbox

I did everything you said.

I uninstalled Tversity. Went to my media blade. Clicked video. Brought me to my console videos. Clicked X for "Change Video Source", was brought to the Select Source screen. Again, Console, Current Disc, Portable Device, Tversity on James : 1. No option to switch Tversity to "My computer".

Again, I fully uninstalled Tversity. Had 360 on. Was connected to my router. I went to the library tab and selected media share. 360 did not pop up. It did before but now it's not popping for some reason.

*Edit* Re-did the WM11 installation, 360 popped, that part worked. Tveristy is again still on my menu.
*Another edit* Shit i was fcking around and I got Tversity off, now it says "Computer".

But now it says "No computers found. To stream music, videos, or pictures from a Windows-based PC on your network, you must first set up media sharing software on the PC. On your computer go to: www.xbox.com/pcsetup.

Frist off get rid of Norton, download Avast! - its free
Second - Use WMP 11 as your link from PC to 360

dont forget to enable sharing with the 360 in the library tab of WMP11

How does tversity play mkv files?
My xbox recognize my divx folder but not High Definition folder.

I did enable sharing..

I already installed WMP11.

Maybe big words and a checklist will do:

WM11 [yes]
Enable sharing [yes]
Tversity replaced by Computer [yes]

360 able to detect computer [no]

Stop saying WM11 WM11 WM11, I already have it and it still doesn't work.

"
did you do a new install of WM11 AFTER tversity was 100% gone?
Yeah.

I have WM11 installed and media sharing. It's not WM11. It's something else.
" Enable sharing [yes]"
maybe you didn't understand...enable sharing and the pc actually seeing the 360 are 2 separate things...enable sharing just means any device capable of sharing will be allowed.....whether or not the pc see's the 360 is a whole different matter

it should look like this:

I thought doing that meant enable sharing. I did that already. I did everything u said to do. My 360 can't detect a computer.

the big problem is norton , i made a similar thread about this myself, couldnt get wmp11 to work with my 360 after norton update

fast forward to the present>>>now i get to enjoy my avi's and divx files

I thought Norton was the problem. I can't get Tversity to work after the Norton update. I have about 30 days on Norton. If nobody knows how to fix it (and im about 99% sure nobody knows judging from this thread) I'll switch my anti-virus and try again.

just get rid of norton, thats what i did, this happedn about 2 days ago when i did that update, if you want kaspersky and have AIM or something i could send it to you, i tried for a long time after the update to get it to work, right after i got rid of norton it was working fine...true story
