First Mega Man 9, then Diablo III, now CAG 2.0 and CTDS!

Man, the news just keeps coming!

UPDATE: Confirmed for DS. Not a remake, just a port with a new dungeon, some type of Wireless multiplayer, and touch screen support.

I'm actually kind of disappointed now. Certainly not the quality I expected from Square-Enix after their lawsuit threat against Chrono Resurrection:

Essentially, we lost this (Chrono Resurrection):

and got more of this (CTDS):
Why on the ds though. This game so needs the big screen.
It's already been on the big screen twice.
And? I would rather have a third copy put out on the VC or over XBL than a small screen handheld.
Assuming it is a remake, rather than a port, consider it testing grounds, a prelude to a FFVII remake, perhaps?

From sources, it is an enhanced port using the same graphics style as the SNES version with additional content.

I don't know who to hate more, Squenix for releasing games I played ten years ago over and over again or me for buying them.

Great... Probably going to be another poorly done remake of one of my favourite games of all time.

Wait a minute... Is this confirmed as a remake, or might it be a sequel?

Sequel? Pfft! We're pushing it as it is with additional features in the game. Don't go talking crazy like that!

Why not? They've ported the bulk of their most successful SNES-era games to GBA, and again to DS. I'll take CT on the go!

(CAG 2.0's new interface scared me at first; I think it'll take me awhile to get used to it.)

I don't know why everyone seems to be so opposed to the idea of a Chrono Trigger DS port. The DS certainly has the technology to handle Chrono Trigger, and having it on the go (legally) is awesome!

Finally, I can revisit old memories. As long as it doesn't have the FF3 or FF4 graphics, I'll probably be picking this up on first day.

meh.

i have it for snes, why buy practically the same game again? =(

i'd only get it if they revised and re-edited the script. that's one reason i'm looking forward to the ff4 ds remake.
I'd rather have a port than ghetto-looking 3D graphics.
This.

If they (Squeenix) made this with shitty-looking 3D like FF3 or FF4, I would have broken someone.

I can't wait. This is something I have been waiting for. I would take just a straight up port, new dungeon = win.

Srsly. Chrono Trigger's graphics are still really good... there's no way they could capture the same level of pretty-ness with the DS' 3d "capabilities". Who in their right mind would opt for more of this:

It's difficult to know what the fuck you're even looking at.

I'm glad they didn't fucking make the graphics like the fugly FF3 and 4 remakes, but they really should have given this a full blown remake treatment on PS3. I guess they're too cheap for that, so I'm not surprised at all. It's a good thing this game looks gorgeous even now.

I might get it if the wireless play turns out to be coop. If not, fuck it. The bonus dungeons they put in these ports always suck ass. Though that reminds me, my CT cart's battery is a little wonky, so I might just get it for that reason.

I'm pumped they aren't going the 3D route with this game. There is still plenty of room for good solid 2D sprite based games... platform gaming may have evolved passed that, but if I list my favorite RPGs the majority of them are going to be on the Super NES. That generation was the golden days for RPGs... it'd be nice if we could return to that.

I cannot wait for this!!! Between this and Disgaea, my DS is gonna get a workout later this year.

Thank god they didnt ruin this game with those shit 3D graphics they gave to FFIII and IV.

wow, so much hate for 3d graphics.

ff3 looked fine to me.
ff4, i was averse to but the more pics i see the cleaner it looks. i got love for the SNES version but come on, cecil has pink hair.

i thought dqm joker looked pretty cool.

not that i was expecting a 3d remake, but if they clean up the script and add something more besides 1 dungeon and a wifi mode (which we don't even know what it does. i lol enough at front mission's wifi mode) it would be a must buy. i don't want to buy a marginally different game.

right now, i'd rather just pull out my CT snes cartridge.
