Okay, i just watched FullMetal Alchemist, my first anime ever, courtest of StarKnightX. Anyway, it's f*king amazing!!! Just wanted to ask you guys: what's good?

UPDATE: How many? You don't want to know (i mean that in small, not large way).

If you guys got any of the stuff you reccomend for sale, shoot me a PM. Some recommendations look good, but a little expensive. I got ^^ for so low i don't even want to say, excpet that i love CAG :whistle2:D

For completely serious suggestions:
-Cowboy Bebop(Possibly the most loved anime. Space bounty hunters with loads of style)
-Eureka Seven(Same studio as FMA, starts off slow but gets really good)
-FLCL(short comedy that gets a lot of love)
-Samurai Champloo(Check this out if you end up liking Bebop.)

If you liked Full Metal Alchemist, you'll like HunterxHunter, but it's not released in the states (The anime, anyway), so you'll have to find some Fansubs.

Also, I'd recommend Trigun, Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Azumanga Daioh, Rurouni Kenshin (The First and Second seasons only, the third one can be missed. Also watch the OVAs), Outlaw Star...
Those are some of my mainstream favorites.
 
I couldn't find the anime thread, so i made my own. Here's my problem: read the posts guys. You've recommneded like 20 titles in 5 seconds. I'm thinking of buying the entire naruto series for $350 when it releases in october, and FMA (i have vol 1-3) off a CAG somewhere.

I have watched both Destiny and Wing, and liked both of them.

For some reason though can never find Seed to downloa.. I mean buy. :)
 
Sorry. Don't pay attention to my previous post.

Here are my suggestions... do some research, watch some YT preview vids... get a good feel for it.

Heck if you're up to it. Rent/borrow/DL, see if you like something. Go with what you like/what you're feeling.
 
Don't bother spending $350 on Naruto, it's not worth it. It is basically endless fights, many of which take multiple episodes(Not nearly as bad as DBZ though). $350 can buy you a whole lot of other good anime. There are some good suggestions covered by a lot of noise.

If Fullmetal Alchemist was your first anime, just stick with these anime right now:

Cowboy Bebop ($40 shipped off Amazon= entire series)
Trigun
Death Note (If you feel like trying out manga(Japanese comics), read the manga, it's good)
Samurai Champloo (If you like Cowboy Bebop, this is ok)
Ghost in the Shell
Planetes (Maybe, I like it but don't any type of super action from this)


Check out www.animenewsnetwork.com for some short synopses on the different anime. They have a good encyclopedia.

Seriously though, i used these lists to do some shopping on CAG. If anyone of you have this for sale, LMK. I just hit the BOGO free and $5 anime sections.

Also, i don't really want to read anime. I'm pretty lazy, i like to work as little as possible. See my original comment for the anime i've picked up so far.
 
Is that the GTO amine or manga? Gonna tell you right now if you like the anime you're going to want to read through the manga.

There is a difference between lazy and watching good Anime. When Anime is not released in the US, how are you going to watch it without reading subs, and yes there is some Anime that is worth the subs for (Black Lagoon season 2 is a perfect example, as well as Monster which is also a fantastic series not released in the US).
 
Who else is waiting for the second half of Gundam 00 to start? I love the cheesy drama mixed with some real hard emotional hits towards the end of part 1.

You thought FMA was amazing? Seriously? Well I can forgive you since it's your first anime. Sailor Moon was my first, and I now realize how bad it is.

Anyway, go watch Evangelion then we can talk about other shows.

To be honest I loved G-Gundam. It was one of those shows that were so bad that it was great. Also it has Rain and Allenby.
 
I'm a big fan of Fruits Basket - it has surprising depth and maturity despite its outward guise as an anime for teenage girls. Both my fiance and I love it.

I'd also vote for the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs.
 
G-Gundam was only funny in how ridiculous and stupid it was. The show is also funny that each gundam is basically a stereotype. (ie Mexican Gundam is wearing a poncho and sombrero LOL)
