There's a post around these parts, buried in some thread, that just flat out states the promo. It also says that you simply have to sign up to get the code. The whole "roll up your friends" part is just part of some separate contest.

Edit: Posted right above me in fact! :p I also just tried the sign-up to see if it was indeed some different code (hoping it would work in tandem with the above code) but it was the AMZNKATA code.
 
my bad - I didn't see the post and just got the 'tweet' from the King. Didn't see the details on the contest part until reading a bit further. sorry bout that.
 
Won't let me use my $30 promo, eca, and the $5 code together. Says the $5 code can't be used.
 
Considering how little others discussed it in the other thread, I actually am glad you reminded me about it. I had completely forgotten what the code was or in what thread the code originated, so thanks for the reminder at the very least.

It's probably the $30 and $5 codes that don't stack. I canceled and re-ordered yesterday using the $5 code and ECA with no problems. If there's any other games you want before the end of the year, I would just cancel and use just ECA + $5 since the $30 code shouldn't expire until 12/31/2009.

When does the code expire? I don't have my $10 credit from when I ordered KH DS yet. With the credit, ECA, and this code, the game would be $27. Not bad....

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, OP! I was going to hold out on picking this one up until a price drop, but with a double-ECA discount and this coupon, I couldn't resist.
 
Not sure about the rest of the game, but I did try the demo out. The level I played was an exact one ripped from the 360 version, only this is cell-shaded. Just wanted to warn those that played Beautiful Katamari that this game may only be a rehash of the same levels with different graphics.

No online multiplayer, but there are still online leaderboards and offline multiplayer. You can apparently also unlock Home items.

I dunno. On the one hand, I know I'll get it eventually. On the other, why is it $50? Katamari keeps going up, and this looks like it is largely a remix.

Ah, screw it. Ordered. I bought We Love Katamari on day 1 for $30, and now I don't even have to leave the house.

I loves every Katamari games but lot good games coming out in OCT & NOV. Really don't feel like spend $35 on this game. Possible it'll be on deal of the day for $20 or less :)

I'm waiting for it to hit $20 as well, wont be long. If Bioshock and SFIV hit $20 in a matter of months, this one definitely will.
 
On the subject of how many new levels there are, this is from gamefaqs:
3 levels are from KD
18 levels are from WLK
10 levels are from BK
3 levels are new

Most of the music is remixes from the other katamari games as well. I don't know the exact number on that one.
I love this series , but in my opinion $50 is too much for this one, it's too close to a compilation or best of, not enough new material to call it a new game in the series. $30-40 would be a fair price. Since that's what it comes to after all these discounts, in for 1 :)

I didn't realize it was only a few new levels, I have never played Beautiful Katamari but they should have given more than 3 brand new levels.

Even though this is a great price for the game, I'm going to wait until it goes on clearance somewhere.
 
Its akin to the God of War pack. Its probably a bit overpriced, but running these games/levels in 720/1080p will be welcome by me. There's also the girlfriend factor. Any game that makes the girlfriend happy is also welcome.

What IS Katamari Forever? I enjoyed the first three games, own but haven't played Beautiful (which I've heard is the worst), and I've heard this is just old content repackaged or something?

If it was actually all new I'd go for it, but...

Blah. I ordered it on Thursday with the coupon + the double ECA glitch. Got it for $33 shipped. Guess I can't really complain much.

Turning this down at $31 is killing me, but with Uncharted 2 coming out in 2 weeks, I don't see myself getting a lot of playtime out of this one anyway.

Same here, I already have $10 in GC from getting ODST. I'm just hoping the price doesn't change before I get it...
 
If I wait on my Halo ODST credit.. I should be able to snag this for $7. Lets just hope the price doesn't change for the next 1-2 days.
 
Dammit - why do they do this!?

I preordered it a ways back and had to fight just to get the $5 coupon discount that came out after my preorder started to be processed for shipping. NOW it drops $7 more!? :bomb:

Edit - Oh well, I fired off an email. I'm not too hopeful considering they already made an exception in giving me a $5 credit to make up for not being able to apply the AMZNKATA promo code to my original order before it shipped.

(Spent a lot of time playing the game this weekend by the way - love it!)

We'll see what happens.
 
Really torn on this. I really want the game and $35 is pretty close to my sweet spot for it....but at the same time I bet this game drops in price really really fast.
