I just bought a new Elite (Holiday Bundle LEGO/PURE) after having a Pro console the that needed to be sent in to be fixed 3 times. So I open the box and it had no Xbox 360 Service Contract offered to extend the warranty for 2 yrs. for an extra cost. I mean I know it is only another year but I am really angry that it was not in there with how QUESTIONABLE the 360 hardware is. Have they discontinued it for a while? Now I LOVE MY XBOX 360, best online service no doubt, that is why I bought the ELITE but the things that Mircosoft has taken out, mainly HDMI and NOT EVEN A COMPONENT CABLE that came with my original Pro system!!!! You have dropped your prices to compete with YOU KNOW WHO but you have decided to nickle and dime the consumer on everything that was basic. So is it really an "ELITE" or just a PRO with a 120 GB Hard Drive...OOPS it doesn't even include what used to be the "QUALITY" (As we all know the hardware was junk) that was included with the "PRO" console. What do yall think?

I'd give them a call. I know I was able to renew my extended warranty on my 360 right over the phone with them, when it was about to expire this past march. Naturally things could have changed since then, but a quick call to them should clear it up for you one way or the other.

Good luck. :)

Thank you for the reply man, I will give it a try. I mainly wrote the post cuz I was PISSED at how cheap MS has gotten and wondering if they discontinued it all together. As you can tell by how little I have posted I don't complain alot about anything LOL. The reason I bought the Elite cuz my original service contract expired in June and after the last update my Pro 360 had disk read error after playing for longer than 10 minutes no matter what game. Has anyone else had that problem? Anyone else pissed at Microsoft?

I was about to get a PS3 but I am hoping for a holiday bundle...I am truly a Cheap Ass Gamer LOL

I didn't know people even purchased these. You get 3 years for the main problems with the system, no need to waste money on something you most likely wont use.

Thing is with as many issues with the DVD drives on 360's it's not a bad idea to have the warranty for that also. The 3 year warranty is only for red ring/E74, and there's a lot more that can go wrong with a 360 than that.

Exactly! TY For Explaining It To Him... Wait til you get the disk read error which is not covered by the "3 yr. warranty" then you will be wishing you signed up for that service contract. Then you will know why I am pissed that the offer was not even in the box.

It just seems like Microsoft is getting cheaper and cheaper. Meanwhile if they made Quality Hardware then they would be making $30 off of the consumer but they know they are losing money now because it seems like EVERY 360 eventually messes up somehow. My first console Red Ringed twice, E74ed once, and finally Disk Read Error that was unfixable. Even paid $20 for Maxell HD/Blu Ray Lens Cleaner that everyone raves about (I did research cuz I didn't want to mess up the console more) and is advertised as the best thing for the 360 and PS3 on the packaging.
