Was just at BB and saw they had these marked down to $49.99. Not super hot and I think Amazon has had these cheaper at some point, but probably worth it if you have a GC or RZ points to burn.

Also on the web:

PS3 is $46 at Amazon right now though: http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Rising-2...49TU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1298338313&sr=8-4

Lol. Yeah that really bothers me too. I never got AC: Brotherhood because of that (one box literally had the top half almost torn off) and all of the sudden they raised the price back to $99 too.
PC is the way to go with this game if your system can handle it ... far far better on PC, just fyi
Only $20 too on Amazon which is a steal.

However I really wanted to go for Case 0 and Cast West so I did 360.

Note to others that Case Zero and Case West are independent games that do not require nor benefit from the ownership of Dead Rising 2 itself. Case Zero allows you to level up to level 5 (of 50) and have that level transfered into Dead Rising 2 if you decide to start a DR2 campaign after you beat Case Zero, but Case West isn't affected by owning Dead Rising 2 at all.

On an aside, this is my favorite game of last year and I beat it twice.

Yeah, totally worth it to buy Case 0 and Case West on 360 and then the full game on PC.

The reason, aside from better graphics, is that the PC version loads almost twice as fast as the 360 or PS3 versions. I played the console versions first and then the PC version and the loading times made you want to throw a controller on console bc they were so long and frequent.

Never understood why they do that.. The people that buy collectors editions aren't the type that will want damage to the case.

Probally so that if someone tries to steal it, it'll explode and take out the whole block.

DR2 Zombrex Edition was my brother's early birthday gift to me. The steelcase has a zombrex pill container type theme, there's that syringe pen or whatever and the Zombrex Company brochure which was done brilliantly. Original MSRP was prolly too much considering what came in it. BUT I still love the packaging and extras, Capcom did a nice job with their tongue in cheek humor.

49.99 is not a bad price for this, if you have the $.

Agreed on the extra's. The movie was pretty decent, and i love the Zombrex Pen/Prescription Pad.

Everytime i read the "For the relief of" on the Syringe box i always laugh.

I'd like to hear your explanation to that... The only benefit I can see is that it's cheaper on the PC. It was definitely built for consoles and the only game(s) I have seen which were built for consoles and then better on PC were the GTA III+ games.

It's better on PC because it has better graphics, faster load times, lots of mods, it is cheaper, and it has full gamepad support just like on the 360/PS3. I played it on 360 and didn't mind the load times, but I'm sure playing it on PC is a fucking revelation in comparison, as they are quite long.

Same can be said on pretty much every PeeCee game, unless the game developer got real lazy.

Tell that to the guy who asked us to qualify the statement that the PC version is better, not me.
I usually don't consider PC for multi-platform games, but I may for this. I wonder why DLC doesn't come to PC version of games?
Capcom is lazy

I might have to check this out now. I like the steelbook case and only wanted this edition for that. From the pictures and video I saw online showing the difference in graphics on the console and PC versions it wasn't enough for me to care. I will check this out on the 360 if BB still has them.

This game was definately designed for consoles. I have it for both PC and Xbox 360 and it runs way better on Xbox 360. Before you knock, I have a gaming PC, Phantom X4 2.8gz cpu, 4gb DDR2 1033 dual chan, Asus 5850 video, etc..... The graphics are better on Xbox 360, they are too sharp on PC and the framerate beleive it or not is better on 360. Im all about PC gaming and yes 99% of the time it is better, but not for Dead Rising 2. Either way.... AWESOME GAME!

Save your money. This game is about as much fun as a trip to Walmart on black Friday to pick up a prescription for your kid.

Infrequent save points, terrible inventory management, frustrating game play and sloppy controls.

A buddy and I finish most co-op titles, this one lasted about two or three nights before we were both dreading playing it. Doubt we'll ever go back to it. We've decided to play Lost Planet 2 instead, if that tells you anything about how bad this game is.

I'd assume most people buying the CE now are already fans of Dead Rising, so it's the wrong crowd to preach to.

I haven't really had any issues like you seem to have had. I found the game to be a blast. Much more entertaining than Dead Rising.

i think more like capcom is punishing the entire pc userbase because of all the people pirating their pc games, especially street fighter 4. why port a game at all if not going to release everything?
this is only $39.99 at gamestop right now I just returned my BB one
Why not price match it? I always find BB's rewards zone better than powerup but that's just me.

I have no idea what you're smoking but the load time and graphics are far superior on PC. I guess your super system has trouble managing it, but mine seems to run it just fine. This is coming from someone who owned it on 360 and then on PC, and there is a noticeable difference in both graphics and speed .. so yeah, not really sure why you're claiming it was designed for consoles, especially when it was most likely programmed using a PC.

What settings do you play on?

Your gaming PC seems a little lax. Someone with a higher system might would run it better.

This has been $42.96 at Walmart for a while. (360 version)

I'm a newbie so I can't post links but just go to Walmart.com and search Dead Rising 2 Collector's Edition
