I ordered Fallout: New Vegas from the site on 1/21 for their weekly deal price of 19 bucks, a great price but it never arrived. After emailing the site on 2/21 and giving them a full month i was told; "we'll start an investigation, email us back in three weeks if it doesn't show up".

Cut to three weeks later, still no New Vegas. I email them back and i get; "we don't know what happened, it isn't here and it isn't there. We can send out another copy if you want or you can have store credit"

At this point I was fine with everything, when i responded asking if they would be including tracking information so that the replacement shipment wouldn't be lost i was told; "if you want a tracking number, it'll be $2.50"

Am i wrong to expect that when I have had to wait two months for an order that the two dollars and fifty cents should be waived for a quality customer service experience?

Anyone else have similar issues with play-asia lately? I've been ordering from them for years and this is the first time that i've ever had an order "lost"

I've never had an issue with them, but they certainly should have given you the tracking number shipping upgrade for free. Especially when the issue you had was with shipping in the first place. It's called customer service.

I received an email and they have decided to waive the extra fee for the shipping number. This has made me feel a bit better about the company, it's just been a bit annoying. =/

I had a similar experience a few years back with Siren, except I never received a response from anyone when I emailed. I ended up winning the dispute on my CC. That experience soured me on the company and I haven't visited their website since.

i doubt i will be shopping there for the foreseeable future, this has left a truly bitter taste in my mouth and it's not worth the hassles.

In their defense, a lesser company would have said "hey, it's not our fault UPS lost it." Look at it this way, they're coming out behind but still trying to please you buy giving you a tracking number which, incidentally, do cost money. Just because you had to ask them to give you a free tracking number, which they didn't even have to do, it leaves a "truly bitter taste" in your mouth when you've been doing business with them for years?

I have ordered many times from Play-Asia and have had no problems at all. I usually get my items in about 7-10 days. I would say dont completely write them off yet. They do have a pretty good reputation and your experience is most likely a 1 in a 1000 chance of happening.

I've never had an issue with them, and I'm glad they decided to provide the tracking number for free. I too would've been a bit off put by a company telling me I'd have to pay to get a tracking number on a second shipment.

And yes, I understand how it may not be Play-Asia's fault the package was lost, but, I'd say it's pretty standard fare these days (Amazon, Newegg, etc.) the company would eat the loss and try to please the customer. $2.50 is nothing if they can please their customer, and continue getting orders from them.

i was/still am a bit frustrated at just how long the process took. "wait another three weeks before emailing us back" is a bit excessive.

And yes, one bad experience can spoil me on a place. It's akin to going to a restaurant for years then one time you go you find a roach in your salad...you won't be going back anytime soon. I have spent hundreds of dollars at play-asia over the years and if they had insisted on me footing the $2.50 i wouldn't consider going back. I will probably keep them in mind for my future imports, but I will keep a more open mind now.

As of right now, I'm still showing that my game left Hong Kong on the 21st...ugh

Well you can look at this way too. By going to other sites instead of play-asia is going to cost you more than $2.50. I mean NCXS sell the same thing at a much higher cost. You could have gotten fallout at amazon but that cost you $40

Very true. I could have spent the extra coin and picked up the game from any number of other retailers at more than the $22 that i paid. I made my decision to shop with play-asia and i have to live with the fallout (honest to god, no pun intended). That just means that based upon this experience, I will consider other options in the future if there's an import title I want.

I'm not saying I won't buy from play-asia again because I would be lying. I am just willing to broaden my horizons after this experience. That's all. I had a bad experience and was looking to see if anyone else had experienced anything like this lately. I know that sometimes companies can change hands and their internal policies can change. It appears that this is indeed a rare instance of some lost mail. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there was no malicious intent. Does this mean the next time I order I'll ignore the fact that I had a lost piece of mail from halfway around the globe? This, if anything has reminded me that the extra $2.50 for tracking verification is indeed worth the trouble it could have saved in the first place.
