I've been waiting for an XBL download since the first Power Pros came out. seemed like such an easy cash crop to me. I'd be happy with a port with online play. Just update the rosters! This looks about the same though. I wish they kept the cartoon-y looking players. Can't imagine their poor attempts of making the players look real despite still not having arms/legs swaying anyone on the fence about buying it. But as long as you can toggle off the bobbling, I'll suffer through it since the gameplay looks exactly the same.

Looks like there is online play, though I'm not sure of what kind.

This looks like it's using the Power Pros engine, which is an automatic win.

Glad to see that Power Pros, even in this "Bobblehead" form, is coming to the 360.

I was wishing for a true Power Pros game, but I guess this might have to do. I did some play testing on a Wii version way back when I was in QA and this game was so fun!

Edit: Dropping "The Life" game mode means this is a no-go for me. That mode was one of the reasons why I loved the Wii versions so much. Oh well, I'll break down and go get one of those I guess.
The bobblehead part is really distracting. I love the Power Pros games, wish they would just bring that series back.
Yeah, the constant bobbing seems a bit much.

As long as they let you disable the bobblehead functionality, I will buy this day one. MLB power pros 2008 was awesome, I played that and enjoyed it more than any of the 2k series.

Too bad there will be no success or the life modes as those were a lot of fun too. Even without Them as long as there is a season and a solid online mode I'll grab this no questions asked.

Demo's broken for me. Once it finished downloading, the pop-up to tell me that it's done just pops up over and over again about every second.
Tried the demo, loved it and purchased the full game.
I have a feeling I am going to be doing the same thing. Will try out the demo tonight.

This and Ms. Splosion Man next week will qualify me for the 200 point rebate promotion :)

XBLM was buggy earlier today, had issues with most newer downloads. Try it again, should work now.

For some reason I didn't realize it was a downloadable title. I'll have to try it out some point this week.

I downloaded it and saw it had a season mode but that is different than the story mode, correct? I think I might pass if it doesn't have a career mode like the Wii version did.

If you look at the menu, the career mode (My Bobble) is supposed to come via DLC.

Finally beat the CPU with a 2 run walk-off homer in the bottom of the third by my man Shane Victorino ;)

I love the demo and would have unlocked the full game right there if I had enough points in my account lol. Time to order a card.

Anyone having problems hitting nothing but ground balls to the infielders? I left my game on the default difficulty settings.

Hate that Konami is once again riding the DLC train with this game... Please stop gimping games to try and force customers to purchase your DLC to get a "complete" game experience.

Really enjoyed the Wii version. Played with a Wavebird. Played a few innings of this and man am I rusty. I bought this outright without playing the demo, but if it is true what CheapyD tweeted (demo showed that certain modes were unlockable with the full game, but those modes became DLC after purchase of the full mode), that is dirty pool. Especially if someone purchased based on Career mode. Not very optimistic that "DLC" equals free DLC. Although there is starting to be some precedence with that, i.e. Portal 2 and Brink.

Guys, this game is made by Konami! If you have played ANY of their games in the past few years on 360, you should know by now that they are DLC whores. They will DLC anything and everything just to make a few extra bucks.

Home Run Derby and My Bobble modes are future DLC. The DLC is most likely an 108kb unlock code though :(.

Konami, if you're listening.... PLEASE STOP THIS BS!

I thought the game was fun so I went ahead and bought it. The only thing I hate about the DLC stuff is that the AL and NL All-Star teams are both DLC.

So that's 3 (or 4) pieces of DLC so far... Sigh...

My Bobble
Home Run Derby
All Star Teams (wouldn't surprise me if Konami sells each team separately)

I love the game, but I hate supporting these DLC-fests...

Found this at mygamer.com:

The first of three games to be released is MLB Bobblehead Pros which is available today; MLB®Bobblehead Stars will be a DLC pack available around the All-Star Game also known as the "Midsummer Classic," in mid-July. The third game, MLB Bobblehead Battle will feature a batting battle that will be out later this year.

I'll be picking this up, as I love the Power Pros series. But, I really hate the amount of DLC is sounds like is coming.

DLC that I would like would be the Japanese league teams along with the stadiums and crowd songs/music and classic graphics (not the bobble head crap).
Other than that I'm with everyone else with all the bullshit DLC stuff cut from the game to be sold later.

can the OP or someone list what features you get and what is going to be DLC?

reading this thread in very confusing as to what you get when you buy the game, and what you have to pay for later.

Ok here are all the modes you get. They are all available unless otherwise noted. OP feel free to copy this to the OP.

Quick Game
Exhibition
Co-Op Play (only local I believe)
Xbox Live
Season
My Bobble (DLC)
Home Run Derby (DLC)
Custom Team
Edit Player (DLC - I'm assuming this goes along with My Bobble? I have no idea)

Also it looks like you can't use the All-Star teams until they are announced and put up for download

Yeah. Come on, OP. Get with it. lol :)

The problem here is people complaining about the DLC and then buying the game anyway. That just proves Konami's point. You really have to ask yourself if you'd be willing to pay more than 800 points for the game...because that's basically what's happening. Will the total be under 1200 by the time all the DLC is added? Who knows. I'm definitely interested in this game, but with so many features nerfed, I might just wait for a sale, and let that justify the cost of having to buy all the DLC. At least that way, they'll know the DLC lost them a day one purchase.

I haven't bought it yet... the only reason being the DLC gang bang.

I want to buy it, but I am showing restraint... for now. I don't know if I can hold out for a sale or not. Time will tell.

The demo is keeping me entertained for now.

BTW, the co-op in this game is pretty weird... 1 player controls the aim, the other swings the bat... 1 player picks the pitch, the other aims it... Doesn't sound like that much fun to me. They should have made that mode DLC instead of "My Bobble" lol.

And I'm hoping for a classic graphics pack down the road. The bobble heads just don't look that cool to me. They almost look like dolls that will come to life at night and kill you lol. Kinda freaky looking if you ask me.

Complain complain complain lol.

I've updated the OP with mode info and achievement list.

While I agree the DLC sucks, the rest of the game is good enough that I'm willing to let it ride. Considering that the Wii version, which came out in 2008, still sells for about $15 with outdated rosters, it's not that bad. Personally I'll be skipping the HR Derby content anyway, as I don't ever play those modes.

^yeah, the only DLC I'd be interested in is My Bobble. I couldn't care less about all-star rosters or Home Run Derby.

Only reason I don't agree is that Im assuming the Wii version was probably $30 or $40 when released. So $15 download (or whatever it works out to, not sure how much this one costs) plus DLC for the career mode doesn't sound to bad. Other than the not being able to resell.

It's $10 and I plan on ignoring the DLC. Sounds like stuff I wouldn't use, unless My Bobble is the My Player/Season mode (I forget the name).

If there's DLC to go back to the cartoon heads then I'd spend another 10 for it haha. I hate the 'realistic' faces--creepy as hell--but I'll deal since it's the same mechanics and the like. Already planning on a short 10 game season with some buds like we did in 06 for the Wii. Or was it 07?

Buying it is still buying it, waiting for a sale means they will just have figured you were never enticed until you saw it on sale, your message will go unheard. This is the one reason why I hate downloadable games. With physical copies if I don't agree with what a company was doing I have the option of buying a used copy, making sure that money didn't actually go into their pockets.

Yeah, but it's not so much "my message" as it is just me getting it for the price that I feel is fair (I'm not one of those dreamers who actually thinks my voice "matters". I just want what's right by me). Sure, maybe some of the DLC offered will be pointless anyway, but I don't know. How much more is it really costing them to have a HR derby?

XBLA titles seem simple enough to me without gimping them even further with optional DLC modes. And I'm usually a fan of DLC in retail releases where I at least get a story, and the DLC just enhances it (yes, I liked the DLC in games like Mafia II and LA Noire). With an XBLA release, I feel like it's a little tougher to draw the line between being a full game and being nickel & dimed.

I will admit though, I rarely pay 1200 points for ANY XBLA release, and have a tendency to wait for sales. So, my opinion might not be the most unbiased as it is.

Frankly, I could particularly care less how much the DLC is. I'd have gladly forked over $50 for a retail release of this. Hell, even if the whole thing is $30 by the time it's said and done, I'll still be happy.

Of course, I've imported Pro Yakyuu Spirits 5 and Powerful Pro Yakyuu 2010 in the last few years. $30 downloadable titles are much easier to digest than a nearly $80 import investment.

Honestly, that's the entire argument. There's no point bitching about the DLC if you'd be willing to pay $30 for the game. My point was really anyone whining about it and then buying it anyway. If you don't think it's worth it and you buy it anyway, you're just a sucker. Otherwise, you'd just be happy that it's out. :)

Are there enough people here playing the game to possibly set up a small league? I've been playing online with Pure Apathy and everything seems to run pretty smooth. I'm really enjoying this game so if there was interest I'd love to set up a small league of some kind.
I didn't buy it yet but I'd be down for that.
Sweet, hopefully we could get like three more. I think we could make something work with six people.
League talk has me pondering a purchase now. Damn you guys.
Ditto... lol.

I really want this game :) but I have no points at the moment
