Just saying I'm not buying this till it hits $50 cause of all the garbage changes Lucas made.

Also other May the 4th Deals:

That does seem like a ridiculous price for a Gold Box DoD. Isn't $78 pretty much what the set normally goes for on Amazon? I agree with OP - I can wait until it hits $50.

the sad thing is they actually tried hyping this shit up on their twitter and facebook, making it seem like they were going to have a good discount on it. Amazon sucks major ass lately

Wasn't it only $1 more when it first released nearly 8 months ago? This should be $50 or less. I picked mine up months ago for like $40 used, still haven't watched it.

/e: This isn't even the cheapest it's been! It was $70 in January!

Yes. $78 is pretty much what it goes for all the time... this is just a ploy that Amazon is pulling for Star Wars Day (May the 4th) to trick people into thinking they're getting a deal. $40 or less myself... Very disappointed these are the garbage edits.

It was $50 around the holiday season last year. I should have picked it up then. Like most everyone else, I'll wait until

Damn it...wasn't the lowest on this $69.99 when it came out? IIRC the individual trilogies were $34.99 and maybe as low as $29.99, with the complete set $69.99.

I've been waiting to pick it up but never a good price on it. No way was it $50 around the holidays, I would have jumped on it. Where was this? The lowest it's ever been on amazon was $69.99 as reported on camelcamelcamel, and no doubt amazon would have PMed it if cheaper at any major retailer.

I picked up the Trilogy sets at Hastings, in store, when they had a B1G1 for $1 on all used DVDs/Blus. Total was about $38. If you have one near you, they have this promo again so if you don't care about the extras, that's probably the cheapest way to get the movies right now.

I'm waiting for unaltered cuts of the movies, which will probably be forever. Not paying for this shit otherwise.

im still mad that hastings/my bank screwed me over during the 30% off sale. Hastings popped up as potential fraud at my bank so they froze my card.

$45 woulda been nice..... :(

No other cards than a bank card? Even so, couldn't you have just pulled cash from an ATM? Couldn't you have applied for their card at the register? Just sayin', it seems like there are options.
He's talking about an online deal that was good for 2-days only. It's unlikely he could have done anything about it.
Well that cuts out the cash option...except other than buying a pre-paid gift card at the store and using it.

There are some pretty good fan made ones out there.

Like others, still way too high for me. Waiting for either a.) Black Friday (or equitable price) or b.) original, uncut editions to make it to BRD. Whichever comes first.
