PS3 Account Hacked

I checked my email this morning and there was a receipt for a game purchase. I tried logging into the PS store but after I do it goes to a white screen. Strange thing is, when I was trying to buy the $1 games this past weekend my PS3 told me I had to log out of the other account in order to make a purchase. I called Sony and they unlinked the other account but had no info on it. I asked them if I had anything to worry about and they said no. I boxed my PS3 after the purchase so there is no way anyone could have made the purchase using my system. I'm in queue with Sony right now and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

They'll refund you took me two months to get my $3 back and they'll ban the other persons system

Update - they processed a refund and the email stated 2 - 4 weeks before it's back in my account. Not a big deal at the moment since I hardly buy stuff for my PS3 (majority goes on my 360); fingers crossed that there isn't anything I want until I get my refund. The letter also stated "a one time courtesy" which I know is just a form letter but I don't like that it said it since it wasn't my fault. I spoke with a super who stated they will ban the other system and won't have access to the game they just bought. This makes me smile since they bought the game only two hours ago (Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition) and now they not only don't have access to the game but they are also banned.

It's great that Sony is able to identify the other console.  Sounds like things worked out in your favor =D

They probably won't refund you. Same thing happene to me, but they used $20 on some racing game for the PSVita. They put in the request for a refund, but I got that bullshit saying "No refunds. All Sales Final, no matter who made them". That's part of the reason I decided to pick up an Xbox 360. If Sony doesn't care about its supporters, I'll give your main competition my money too.

Sorry to hear you didn't get your refund. I got the refund the same week but I had already called a few days before about my not being able to buy any games because of another system being linked and there shouldn't have been. They unlinked the other system and I bought the games and a few days later someone used my account. I also told them to look at my history and it showed the most expensive game I purchased before was $9.99. I think in my case it was just timing. If my account was hacked and a purchase made a few weeks later I might have received the same result as you.

I caught mine like 2 hours after it happened and Sony pretty much told me to off even though a PS3 and a PSVita were added to my account that very same day

I guess I got lucky.

I had something similar happen to me last summer where someone purchased WWE2K14 and I was issued a full refund. I thought it was a pretty good experience overall. Obviously I would prefer it never happened but I thought customer service performed admirably.
