Which one do you think was the best Zelda game all time

My favorite is: Oracle of Ages and Seasons for GBC which I played on my friends system.
Also Link to the Past ( gba )

what about you guys.

I thought the series hit it's peak at Link to the Past. Ocarina of Time and Windwaker were very overrated in my opinion - Still decent games though.

I prefered Majora's Mask over OoT or WW.

I'd probably go with the OG version just for the nostalgia. Although OOT was damn good as well.

(And this topic is just crying out to have a poll...)

I'm shocked at how many people think Ocarina of Time is the best. The game was vastly overrated, it is the FFVII of action adventure games.

A Link to the Past is my favorite in the series, and is arguably the most Zelda-like Zelda game there is.

Overated or not, its still the best gaming experiance I've ever had.

The only two I have beaten are A Link to the Past and the original on the NES. I have played through the majority of Link's Awakening on the GBC too.

1. LTTP
2. Link's Awakening...
3. the original

I have only played a bit of OoT but I just loved the 2D Zelda's more.

I concur with the sentiments that OOT was over-rated. I felt it was rigid and WAY too linear (People or things pointlessly obstructing entrances/doors/items for no reason other than to ensure that the story progressed in exactly the way the designers preferred).

I don't blame others for loving the game, but it was a disappointment to me.

Original Zelda 1: Absolutely my favorite and possily favorite of all time

Of the four I've played, LTTP, the original, Link's Awakening and Oracle of Seasons, I can't make a decision. Beyond the original, the other three seemed almost exactly the same in most ways.

The original is definitely my favorite of all time. LTTP...I didn't play this when it first came out...but I did on the GBA and it started a little slow but picked up and I now understand why everyone loves it so much. I'll also probably be the black sheep for saying this but I loved Zelda II. Yeah it was radically different from the 1st but I don't understand why there is so much hatred for it.

Link to the Past. Definitely, no question, it's a fact of life. Link to the Past is probably one of the greatest games ever made.

I feel I should say something about Ocarina of Time...I don't find it overrated, excepting in the fact that people claim THAT as the best Zelda game. It's 2nd best. It's a fantastic game in it's own right, I don't quite understand why people don't like it (calling it the FFVII of action games is over doing it). Great game, definitely.

And lastly, only one person (that I saw) mentioned Majora's Mask so far, and that game is truly under appreciated. It didn't feel as good as Ocarina, to me, but it came damn close.

I like Majora's Mask best, followed by OoT. There's something to be said for Four Sword Adventures as well (I know a lot of people don't like the connectivity, but if you can get the equipment, it's an aamzing multiplayer experience). I've never been able to get into most of the 2D Zeldas (and I'm not a 3D whore).

"Ocarina of Time", followed closely by "Link's Awakening"

I wasn't into the whole "hype" thing, and when I bought Ocarina of TIme I had no idea what 'zelda' was about, I bought it because the box looked cool.

Then I became an instant fanboy.

Well, I've beaten the Wind Waker, the Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and the Minish Cap.

OoT definitely blew me away back in 1998. After that came Majora's Mask. It had an incredible atmoshpere to it and I loved all the sidequests. Collecting all the masks stands out the most in my memory. Wind Waker was a good game as was the Minish Cap. Hard choice but I guess OoT is my favorite simply because it was my first Zelda game. I haven't beaten Link to the Past before, so maybe that is the best. I won't know until I play it on the Revolution. :)
LttP IS the best Zelda game, no opinion, it's a fucking fact.
Lol. Personally, as good as LttP was, I felt that Link's Awakening and the Oracle games, my favorites in the series, improved upon it in various ways.

I concur on the OoT being overrated thing. Waaaaay too pedantic, especially during the Water Temple.

Zelda II was simply underrated. Sure it didn't bear the hallmarks of traditional Zelda games, but it had awesomely designed, challenging yet balanced swordplay. I've been wishing for a more evolved followup bearing the same kind of gameplay, laced with some in-depth adventure based gameplay a la the Metroids, making its own unique use of the items (for instance, Bionic Commando style hookshot). It would rival the Symphony of the Night-vein Castlevanias.

OoT is the best. Horse riding? Oh yes... Fishing? Hell Yea! Secrets and all the jazz? Pshh of course... oh yea.. theres an amazing game with sweet bosses and stuff in there too...

Here's my order of all the Zelda games (with my ratings).

1. Four Swords Adventures 9.3 (easily the best)
2. Link to the Past 8.3
3. Ocarina of Time 8.0
4. Link's Awakening 8.0
5. The Minish Cap 7.5
6. Majora's Mask 7.0
7. Oracle of Ages/Seasons 7.0
8. The Wind Waker 7.0
9. Adventure of Link 6.0
10. The Original 6.0
11. Crappy CD-I Games (haven't played)

And with 3 friends its a 10, its a fucking blast playing Shadow Battle, or the co-op with others. I just wish they would've kept in Tetra's Trackers, would've added even more variety into it.

1.) Ocarina of Time (N64)
2.) Link's Awakening (GB)
3.) A Link to the Past (SNES)

1. Ocarina of Time
2. Link's Awakening
3. Wind Waker

I'll give everyone the benefit of the doubt on LttP, I never got the chance to play it.
