Without google or gamefaqs, type codes you know (or think you know by heart)

up up down down left right left right B A Start --- Contra 30 lives (Select, then start for 30 lives for 2 players)

A B A C A B B -- Mortal Kombat 1 - Genesis Blood Code

A, B , B -- Ikari Warriors NES -- come back to life

Practically every code for Doom (2).

IDDQD - God mode
IDKFA - Weapons, ammo, and keys
IDFA - Weapons and ammo
IDDT - All map, twice for monster/item indicators
IDSPISPOPD - Doom's no clipping code
IDCLIP - I might be wrong on this one... it might be IDNOCLIP, but anyway, it's Doom 2's no clipping code
IDBEHOLD - Different items listed below
*I - Inviso sphere
*R - Radiation suit
*A - Auto map
*V - Invulnerability sphere
*B - Berserker pack
*L - Light amplification goggles
IDCLV(Episode #)(Mission #)/(Level #) - Warp to specified level

I think that might be it, though there are still those do nothing codes that just give you messages.

I also know some of Heretic and Hexen's codes, but I've forgotten most of them and realize how much time I've already wasted in this post.

Castlevania 2 - Simon's Quest (NES): T6TZ JTDY U45V 88J1 (I was stuck in the same place for a while)

Punchout (NES): 775 497 3074 (to fight Super Macho Man) 007 373 5963 (to fight Mike Tyson)

Street Fighter II (SNES): Down, R, Up, L, Y, B (to unlock alternate costumes)

This one's for GTA 3 but I can't remember what it did:

R2, R2, L1, R2, Left, Down, Right, Up (I think that's right)

Metroid- JUSTIN BAILEY

Bubble Bobble Arcade- L, Jump, L, Start, L, Bubble, L, Start. (All Powerups)

Mike Tyson code and Street Fighter II codes as listed by Repetske, too.

I'm not sure if I can remember it now so I dunno if its legit, but I bought a copy of jet moto around 5 years after I had last played it and somehow manage to do the unlock all tracks code. Its a ridiculous code, goes something like: L,R,L change the skill to beginner and the model to a man and then R, L, R change the skill to expert and the model to rider's choice. I still am amazed I remembered that.

You named the two most memorable to me, OP:

U, U, D, D, L, R, L, R, B, A, Start

A, B, A, C, A, B, B,

I still remember others, but those will never leave my mind.

Kudos to anyone who knows what its from (fyi its a Genesis/Snes game)
fuck?

Sonic 1 (Gen) Level Select: Up Down Left Right A+B Start

Up Down Up Down L R L R B A Start: Gradius 3 (SNES) [Full Power-Up]

Heh heh heh...god bless Konami for making the usual code KILL YOU OUTRIGHT. :applause:
Practically every code for Doom (2).

IDCLEV actually ;)

There's also, hmm... IDCHOPPERS and IDMUS off the top of my head.

AAEAULPA - Infinite lives for TMNT 2 on NES (Game Genie)
SLXPLOVS - Something for SMB3... I wanna say it's inf lives, but could just as well be always Sledgehammer Mario.

That's all I've got that hasn't been mentioned yet.
IDCLEV actually ;)
I'm honestly not sure if my mistake was a typo or a slip.

Blue, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Blue - Guitar Hero, all heroes play with the Guitar Hero controller

Besides ABACABB and the Konami code, one that sticks out for me is the DULLARD code (down, up, left, left, A, right, down) for Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis. Then there was the code for Virtua Fighter (2, I think) on the Sega Saturn that unlocks the boss, Dural, as a playable character. The code spelled out the name of the boss, so it was DURAL, or down, up, right or R (can't remember which), A, left or L.

CTRL + ALT + DELETE

The ultimate Windows code.

IDDQD kills you in Heretic.

Doom codes and Konami code.

Other than those, I don't really cheat, so I cant remember them if I don't use them.

Oh yea, kill and unlock for Oblivion.

Ones like Castlevania: SOTN's Richter code are obvious enough (enter your name as Richter) but I also remember:

Donkey Kong Country -- enter down Y down down Y to play the animal mini games.

Yoshi's Island - hold select and press XABY to play mini games.
up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a, b, a, (select for two players), start
I thought there was a second b, a in there, but everyone else kept saying it only once in the Konami code.

I think in the original Super Mario Bros., if you died and ran out lives, you could immediately hold down "A" and it would give you the option to continue from the start up screen.

As soon as I saw this it immediately struck a chord with me. It took me a while to point it out, but I believe I have it now... the code is for extra lives in Aladdin. :)

One I remember for UMK3 for Saturn was at the title screen enter CRAZYCYRAX. The press Start then up to access a blue "?" to turn fatality time on/off and to be able to play as Classic Sub-Zero, Ermac, and Mileena.

One of the more annoying ones I remember as a kid (well, not exatcyl how it went), but in Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, to be able to play the original you have to press a certain button and or direction on the D-pad an insane amount of times to get to it. The code was so totally platform dependent on what needed to be pressed and how many times.

It was already guessed, but I'm pretty sure it was Aladdin, although I thought it was A A B B A A B B A

Let's see what else I got;
Show me the money- 30,000 ore and gas in starcraft
power overwhelming- god mode in starcraft
operation cwal- fast building in starcraft

...weird, all I can remember are Starcraft cheats.

Ikari Code is ABBA

I'm too lazy to list them, but I just remembered some Warcraft II cheats and cheats for original Turok after reading the Starcraft and Turok 2 cheats.

I don't know if I have this one right:

Unlimited shurikens-- Shinboi- Genesis-- tap A,B,C in order repeatedly while on sound 00 in the sound test. the 00s should turn into an infinite sign.
As soon as I saw this it immediately struck a chord with me. It took me a while to point it out, but I believe I have it now... the code is for extra lives in Aladdin. :)
Not extra lives- you warp to the next stage. I remember entering that code over and over again at a Dsineyland kiosk so I could see the game's ending.

It also drops your stage time to 10 seconds on Jungle Book for the genesis.

You guys listed most of the ones I remember.

I forget which Castlevania (4 maybe?) if you enter your name as "Help Me" you get extra lives.

UUDDLRLR. Level select in Adventure Island on the Gameboy. the problem was, of course, that you started the game the same damn way that you did when you started normally.

BJ

I remember the level select code from TMNT 2 (the Konami code right?), and also the level select codes from Mickey Mousecapades. Pressing up + start takes you to the last level, and other directions take you to the other levels.

the Ikari Warriors code is indeed ABBA

also the SMB code to continue on the same stage (2-1, 3-1, 4-1 etc) was just A+start from the title screen. You didn't have to hit it right when you died. of course the konami code and the sf2 code for me too. putting ZELDA for your name in the original LOZ to go to second quest.

also: ICARUS FIGHTS
MEDUSA ANGELS

there was another one from Kid Icarus-- something like TERROR HORROR !!!!!!!!

I forget.

Didn't you have to use the second controller for that though?

If I remember correctly, I think this had something to do with the clock in Jungle Book for the SNES.
