Thanks for the heads-up, Wario64.

I've been looking at the Civilization V: Brave New World expansion pack, but at $8.00 ($9.99 and 20% off with code) - the price isn't there yet. Maybe next time!

Is X-Com the Bureau really as bad as the reviews say? (destructoid 4.5 out of 10)

I never played an x-com game and I was actually interested in this specific one because of the time setting in the 60s.  Does it have  a low-rating because it doesn't live up to the hype of previous x-com games or because the gameplay is actually terrible?

I think the reviews were poor b/c people didn't want a XCOM shooter. They wanted a typical XCOM strategy game.

People really didn't want XCOM brand-name slapped onto a game w/ combat like Mass Effect 2+3 - but Bureau much more tactical than those 2.

You really do have to maneuver your AI members to win - and the game ain't that easy, even on Squaddie difficulty mode.

Story and characters in The Bureau ain't even close at all to ME's - totally different realm.I think is the biggest weakness and disappointment of this game by far - which is saying a lot, given how much I dug the story and characters in 2K Marin's Bioshock 2: Minerva's Den DLC.

if you like the time period and pulpy kinds of sci-fi, its worth a play for sure. Not a perfect game, but definitely fun and worth $10 or $15 (I can't see the gamefly price because I already bought it through there previously)

It's $7.49 before any coupons for The Bureau.

Hmm..I guess I'll pick it up.  Especially considering the fact that I will be getting Spec ops for free, so $6 for 2 games is really not that bad.

I'm thinking about buying one of the old X-com games for $1.25 just to get that free copy of spec ops.
Ditto, though my other choice would be Mafia 2 out of the bunch...less inclined because I KNOW that was already a freebie given out on multiple occasions (the last of which I never got my copy :bomb: )

Have pretty much all of the games I am interested in, but I picked up the original XCOM just to get the free Spec Ops.

Borderlands 2 for $5 seems like a really good deal. I played it to death on 360 but I'll double-dip if I get another game free with it. Is there a way to upgrade my game to GOTY later without having to buy all the content separately? And I don't count the "season pass" since that only came with about 10% of the actual DLC.

No, there is no GOTY upgrade.

And the DLC hasn't really been going on sale quite as often, nor for the same discounts. Currently there is a Gamersgate promo for 66% off selected DLCs, but the 75% + off deals have either disappeared or end up selling out rather quickly as did the Newegg sale last week.
