I had very little interest in this game (although I did enjoy MK) so therefore haven't kept up with inventory levels of the CE. Is there any chance it goes lower? Would you compare the contents in regards to quality to the book ends in the MK Kollector's Edition?

I wonder if best buy nerfed the $20 RZ Cert promo in order to get us better pre-order bonuses. I remember enuf made an ideax requesting better pre-order bonuses like steelbooks, artbook, and other physical bonuses. Also best buy's subsidiary in Canada called Future Shop does a ton of steelbook pre-order bonuses. $10 RZ Cert plus Steelbook is enough to make me pre-order Origins at Best Buy. :D

but the issue here lies with bestbuy be always the late/last one listing preorders. So it seems surprising they are listing steelbooks first. i think it might be more a general preorder bonus, than a exclusive to bestbuy. but i hope what you are saying is true, because bestbuy always gets the worst exclusive preorder bonuses

Usually steelbook pre-orders are exclusive to one retailer. Prototype 2 Steelbook was exclusive to Best Buy. Medal of Honor Warfighter steelbook was exclusive to Amazon. Beyond 2 Souls steelbook exclusive to GameStop as examples. But it could be an AC3 or Dead Island Riptide scenario...

I found enuf's ideax post and it only got 7 votes (sigh...).

Yeah, the lack of support for some of the stuff that benefits the most is puzzling to say the least. Considering the amount of change that had come from a simple vote you'd think people would let their voices be heard.

Hopefully BB allows one or the other. Either you can opt to PO a game and get a $20 RZ cert and NO steelbook or PO and get a $10 RZ cert and the steelbook, since I would rather the extra $10 than some metal case that may get a dent/ding in it if it's handled too roughly and lose any alleged value. Besides which, I'm more of a casual gamer than a collector anymore. So a shiny/pretty case doesn't matter that much to me as long as a game is complete/mint.

Yes, but I heard it was a lightweight fight stick. Which I don't know if you would want that with something that will take a beating with many gameplays.

 
If this came with a steelbook, it'd be an instant buy. Oh well, might trade in my copy and another game to get this upgrade regardless.

 
What are the chances of amazon price matching? I'd much rather have prime shipping but if amazon is a no go I should order from bestbuy asap to expedite the shipping process.

 
I'd be tempted if it was not for all the DLC that I figure will be on an Ultimate edition sometime in 2014.

 
Not expert, but... The Mortal Kombat CE, which didn't have as much stuff, but had a MUCH cooler statue IMO, eventually hit a low of $45 on Amazon when I picked it up. But I get the feeling this game is much more popular than MK so I don't see it going that low.

The comic book, skins and movie are available elsewhere, and the statue goes right now for $25-30 on eBay. So if you want the statue, or are willing to sell it, it's a decent deal for the extras. Otherwise wait for the inevitable GOTY.
