Sorry if that's been covered, this thread is moving to fast to keep up with:

Which Raymans should I be getting? I already own and really like Rayman Origins.

I am thinking Rayman 3 and possibly Rayman 2 Revolution.

Any opinions on those? And are the older ones any good?
I would easily put Revolution ahead of Rayman 3 in terms of priority, Rayman 2 is an absolute classic.

The lineup for today's stream is going to be:

MLB 13 The Show Home Run Derby
Rayman 3 HD
Sound Shapes

It should start in about an hour or so.
How about less streamy and more OP updatey. I just had to search the PS store to find that Sound Shapes DLC. What a slap in the face to everyone who follows this thread.

Also, good to see Namco keeping up that trend of money grubbing DLC for their RPGs.

I'm working on it right now, so sit tight and be patient.

I get what you're saying but if they had backwards compatibility of at least digital stuff I would have already had a PS4 paid off. As is I'm happy to wait and play through my ever growing PS3 collection.
i can understand wanting BC, though that's what my ps3 is for. i really wanted bc in my ps3 as well, and used it maybe 4 times. i mean, i'm glad i got to play shadow of rome on a ps3... but i also have a ps2 in the garage. and likewise, i'll still have a ps3 anyway.

it's the little things i'm excited for -- like, for example, a speedy OS. i've got twenty folders full of games, and it can be excruciating waiting for for all of it to load up. not then end of the world, but basically every time i see the OS chug along, or a game with ridiculous load times, i think of 8gigs gddr5... and smile.

i also remember the first time i turned on a ps3... that chill of seeing the (then) new-for-me OS... and i want that again.

and the games. i can't wait to see what that gddr5 will do.

i technically don't need a new console or pc for the next 20 years given my backlog, maybe longer. but... i know i'm going to want one, anyway. and i know i'll end up buying one well before a price drop. so, i figure i might as well get that day 1 adrenaline burst.

i'm also hoping during the first year or two a lot of the 'bigger' psn games are up ported to the ps4 with cross buy. i know pinball arcade is doing that. gaikai might turn out alright too. and as i have a vita, remote play is very promising. i always wanted it to be better implemented on ps3, and now it will be done right.

Ibb and Obb controls just like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, when u play single player, each thumbstick controls two different guys. Kinda cool, Brothers was great but i played the demo of Ibb and Obb and its ok but i dunno, not that engaging really

It's really just because of the digital content that is tied to your account alone and unlike retail games won't be something I can move on from when I upgrade. For a lot of people, myself included, hanging onto the PS3 is less practical when your budget requires selling the system to put towards the new one. The real long term problem that Sony's got to figure out as they, quietly, lead the digital charge is how they're going to deal with no blocking people from things they've paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for. I can understand not wanting to do backwards compatibility because it's a long of time for something that most people won't use after six months but they've got to come up with a solution for all the digital content that makes everyone happy.

I can't believe they charged what $6 for the home run derby? I won't complain about 3 golds in 5 minutes but what a joke.
To me it's worse that two weeks after the event when everyone that's bought it is going to they just make it free. If I had paid money for it I would be furious.

H
Sucks to get blatantly pissed on like that, amiright?
well since I didn't pay for it I didn't get pissed on. Unlike some I don't like that dirt of thing. Also to eldritch your right they obviously knew no one would buy it now. Those people like getting pissed on and slapped in the face ... A lot.

There's good news for people that never figured out how to do Auto-Uploads for saves on Vita, as 2.60 added a new PS+ icon on the LiveArea page for each Vita game that lets you do the manual upload/download yourself along with setting up Auto-Upload for that game.
I said this yesterday and no one cared.

For the Sound Shapes DLC are they all stuff to make levels with or do they come with more levels? The descriptions say beat school lessons and trophies included, but it's been awhile since I played so I dunno what that means.

About to play some ibb & obb with my buddy. Wish I could stream our session.

Is the PS2 version of Rayman 2 worth $1 more? I'm leaning towards the PS1 version because graphics aren't a big deal and I want to play them on a PSP/Vita when I get one, but I know there are other differences. According to Wikipedia some levels are absent from the PS1 version and others are changed. I could buy both, but I have a hard enough time justifying buying any games right now considering my backlog. Plus, there will probably be other great sales this month.

If you really want to play it on the go the PS1 version should still be perfectly serviceable but it sounds like Revolution is noticeably better otherwise.

Sorry for the blackout ending to this week's stream. I'll record a video of Sound Shapes in action to make up for it. In other video news, I have two new PS+ Preview videos that are now live:

I had that same issue with Sound Shapes following the update just like you did back when I got it. I know some people said deleting the saved data would fix it. I personally disabled PSN and finally got it to start up properly after that. One of the two should work for you.

I had no save data on the PS3 nor was it updated. It just froze upon opting out of doing the update so I could play it offline instead. Automatic update should fix that in the morning anyway.

I was going to download Rayman Origins (Vita) and stopped.

Most EU PS+ games get on NA PS+ eventually and Rayman Origins seems to fit the bill quite well for what qualifies as a Vita PS+ title.

in this case i think it's worth just buying it / supporting the dev. it's a great game, and this is the second time it's been on sale. due to that, it likely won't be on plus anytime soon.

That's exactly what I was thinking. My niece and I loved the PS3 version so much, we bought it to finish it instead of using the library's copy of it to support the devs.

For Michel Ancel!

Never been interested in Hitman because I don't care for stealth games but I will give it a shot for free. Wow I just got PS+ recently and it's been a much better deal than XBL gold! Sure I get to keep the games forever but honestly, they're all old and I've played and/or still own most of them.

I'm going to, um, try to download Hitman Absolution. Is there a way to add it to a download queue and have that be enough, or do I actually have to start downloading it and then stop downloading to make sure that it's on my "record" so I can download it later when I have the space? With the free games I've done so far, they seem to start downloading right away as soon as I click them, as there's no "add to queue" button.

Definitely going to get Rayman Origins, for PS3. For those who have played Max Payne 3, is the Ultimate Edition worth the extra $4? I'm pretty sure I'll get it, just don't know which version I'll be getting.

You can buy games online. You can also access account management online.

Once you "purchase" a free PS+ game through checkout, then it stays on your record.

UE is multiplayer focused DLC so if you only intend to play Max Payne single player, might as well purchase vanilla.

WIll probably pick up Rayman 2 Revolution and Rayman 1, already have origin on disc.

Absolution still has some stealthish bits but it's really much more of a third person shooter especially in comparison to the previous games in the series.

I'm pretty sure they are fairly different games. The technology wasn't there for the ps1 version so it hit the cutting block pretty heavy. In other words a lot is missing.

The ps2 is an upgraded version of the dreamcast version. Basically it looks better.

Not unless you like/want to play a lot of online multiplayer. I'm bummed out they never added any extra story content. For an extra $4 though, it couldn't hurt, maybe. I have this on xbox & I noticed, from the dozen times I played online, that the online community seems to be lacking. I don't know how strong the ps3 online is. I hope I helped sway you in one direction or the other. Good day.

Picked up Rayman 1, & Rayman 3 HD.  :whee: Might pull the trigger on Origins (played it already). Also I've been itching to pull the trigger on Hitman Absolution, so I'm glad it's on the instant game collection now!

Get orgins. Did you beat it? If not then get it. Easily one of the best platformers in a long time.

And if you did beat it, eh, idk, unless you have someone to play with I don't see why you want to play it again especially with legends coming out soon.

Notice how he knows that they're all on hold.
