No new bonues = (still) the worst best bundle ever

Now let waiting for Humble Whole Steam/Origin2/whatver bundle begin... :spam:

Still little disappointed for no Crysis 1...

Didn't expect them to add anything today. If you add stuff to a bundle with the thought that it will increase sales, it would be kinda strange to do so on the final day. Would have made more sense for them to add them yesterday. Though even that seems like it would have been a little late in the game.

I'm pretty sure that the initial leak was probably pretty accurate. Buy undoubtedly the bundle sold a lot better than they had expected and they decided that they didn't need to give out all those bonus'. I suppose it's possible that there will be another Origin bundle at some point, but my guess is we'll never see those games in any other bundle.

You blew it internet. You supported this bundle too much/well.

Same. I already had DS1, but haven't played it. Not sure when I get around to DS if I need to play them in order for some story purpose. Same for Crysis.

I'm still slogging my way through Battlefield 3's campaign and honestly wondering how this 'style' has become dominant in the market. More checkpoints than not seem to be primed for a situation where you load into the game and instantly get killed over and over and over again.

The PC version also seems to fully support a 360 controller but yet never changes the on-screen prompts nor will it clear said on-screen prompts until you actually press the keyboard button. I'm actually stuck in a QTE where it keeps asking for 'E' but when I press the mapped key on the 360 pad NOTHING happens. The same goes for the various prompts like prone where no amount of stick clicking will actually dismiss the prompt to press 'Z' unless/until I just fucking press 'Z'.

So fucking sloppy.

Even though I've already got it, I'm really surprised that they didn't add Dead Space 2 so that people could have the trilogy.

So much for using the Steam database as a source for what bonus games would be.

The Origin sale is over now, too. So yeah, that's not happening.
It probably would have worked on me if I already didn't have 2 on Xbox.

I mean if I play one and like it (which I have and did) and I also have 3 to play, I would have most likely bought 2 for the continuation before playing 3. I would have been buying their ploy hook, line and sinker.

Well there must have been some reason they were mucking around with the Steam registry for those old games. It's not like that's something EA normally does for old games.

I'm still going with the theory that there were intended to be more bonuses but then they realized this thing wasn't just some throw away but was actually making a shit ton of money so they decided to hold some things out for a Humble Origin Bundle 2.

Agreed.  It was so successful I'm sure they figured why bother adding better stuff when they can just do it again.

Wow that must have been some wasted time. I feel for ya.
Well, I was playing Zombie Driver HD with the music in the background, so it wasn't a total loss. In an aural sense, it was a terrible waste, though. That's an hour of my ears' lives they'll never get back. On the plus side, I shifted to the Botanicula soundtrack from the last Humble weekly this morning and that one isn't bad. I'm not sure it's good yet either. It's definitely quirky.

I wish they'd leave the SP campaign to the Bad Company franchise and keep the focus of the main BF line on multiplayer.
Well, if the SP in BF3 is on par with BFBC 2, I'm sure I'll be underwhelmed by that too.

That would explain the off-the-wall bonuses. Populous?! That game was amazing and new when I was, what, 15 years old? I'm mildly tempted to redeem the Uprising key in case I ever get the urge to reinstall it and try my hand at the Commander's Challenge ladder again; I didn't get past the first couple of missions before.

Well I'm sure it'll include Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, and MoH Airborne.  ME stuff seems like a good candidate but I'm not sure what their situation with Bioware looks like.

Humble Origin Pre-order Bundle: Mass Effect 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Titanfall

BTA: Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror's Edge (2)

Bonus: Battlefield 4

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

already have most if not all of those on my ps3 (except for DS3) might be looking to off load my RA3U keys, Already got the C&C complete when it was (oh so damn long ago) what 7 or 13?

If I'm reading the other posts regarding this correctly, people thought Jarvik was a dick and didn't really like having him around. That seems to be the heart of the matter.
If a character pisses you off and makes you think he's a dick, he's a well written character. It would be royally stupid if every character in the game made you love them. Characters are intentionally written to make you love them, make you feel bad for them, sympathize with their plight, hate them, annoy you, sadden you, etc. I'm not really aiming this at you, btw, just towards people who dislike the character.

While I agree with your sentiment, I need to point out that it only really works when the characters were intended to elicit that response.

That said, Javik's character worked as intended. His culture wasn't the idyllic one the universe imagined, so his responses/reactions were an interesting 'reality check' for the narrative.

True. Like, for instance... the blonde daughter (sort of the main character I guess) in Revolution. She just bugged me. She was supposed to be a character you sympathized with, watching her grow and have to do things that she never would have dreamed of doing, but it just didn't work. She irritated me to no end (though that entire show made me cringe). Then you have the superfan like Neuro posted above... That's perfect, intentional irritation, lol.

Of course, the worst characters are the ones that draw no emotional response. I'd take a character that gives you the wrong emotional response over one that you couldn't care less about any day.

What I'm sure NBC thought they were getting was another Katniss Everdeen - hot young woman with a bow, kicking ass. But the producers screwed themselves by casting Tracy Spirodakos, who had one gassy expression for all situations, playing a terrible character who was always getting herself into trouble, causing everyone else to risk their lives to save her. She'd do something kickass, leading to hopes that she was evolving and growing, but the next week, she'd be back down the well again. That's why the show noticeably changed gears from Charlie's stupidity to Miles and her Mom and the other grown-ups. You can tell that next season is going to have even less of her silly butt.

Yeah, I immediately made the Katniss copycat connection. I really never could get into the show, but my parents ended up watching it so sadly I've seen more of the show than I cared to. They've pretty much given up on it after this season though. It's just a huge case of a worthwhile idea executed horribly and littered with bad acting and unbelievable writing.

Much, much better.

You'd think EA would have the $ to pony up for a decent composer and orchestra in lieu of hiring some kind with sequencer software who lives in his parents' basement.

I disagree. Khalid gets on my nerves and I'd just as soon he didn't exist; he makes my trip through Faerun feel like I'm babysitting a 10-year-old.

I realize looks are subjective, but it's not like people turn to stone if they look at her:

2.1 million of these things have sold, but if you somehow aren't one of the people who bought one, be aware that you only have another hour and 45 minutes to decide on it.

Those pictures are very unrepresentative of the gallery you get if you look her up on google images. Even then, she doesn't look that good. At best, outside of lots of makeup and a glamour shoot, she's on the better side of plain. In other pictures, easily on the poor side of it. I'm not saying she's horrendous, but definitely not appealing IMO.

Well, that's a wrap, but the counters are still ticking up:

Total payments: $10,539,472.49

Number of purchases: 2,136,665

Average purchase: $4.93

New Bundle is stand-up comedy stuff. Wow. 2 weeks of that? Talk about a comedown.

I still suspect there will be an Origin bundle 2, but they probably plan these things out weeks in advance, so it might be a while.

I googled none!  That's what a few years of comedy podcasts and NPR will do: WTF, Comedy Bang Bang, The Sound of Young America, Doug Loves Movies.

Here's Tig doing her Taylor Dayne story for This American Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSwzYB545hY  I saw her do that bit at Bumbershoot a couple years ago.  (Bumbershoot is this weekend!  YEAH!)

Way to get people to your site in droves (with an amazing deal) and then drive them away in the same fashion they came.

GG humble bundle. Troll on

I thought they would at least do a good bundle because I think many people were new to humble bundle last week. You know, follow it up and make the statement that they NEEDED to at least look every week because of the awesome deals. But what do I know...

They have a job opening for a business developer. The company that has done tens of millions in business with successful bundles, both with and without games, could really use your expertise.
