Mind blown 2x's @ this amazing story and trying to real long-winded paragraphs in Tebonics. :D

So, I've got like around 3 hours worth of RE6 so far, according to Steam. Damn, Leon's campaign is bad-ass so far - I'm digging this.

And yeah - this plays really good w/ a KB-mouse. :D

So, ummm...when does this game really fall apart?

I'm symptomatically experiencing subarachnoidal hemorrhaging from that post.
I hope you're gonna be okay. Are you gonna be okay? ;)

EDIT:

Well hell, it is a Dead Rising 2 (75% off) Sunday. Bummer.
Thanks for saving me $, Steam and Capcom. :D

DR2: Off the Record ain't cheap enough to suit me, since I already have Dead Rising 2 (original) from Retail.

Plus - those games use G4WL.

It falls apart when you get to the part where you've never played the game yet.Once you start the game, you should be good.

Didn't like Dead Rising 2.

Played for a few hours, got to a point where I had to travel across the mall, avoiding and killing zombies along the way for a few minutes and then fight a bad guy... who killed me right away. So then you have to go back to your last save point and do it again. That gets old quickly, or maybe I just suck (probably that one) either way... not for me.

what were u expecting? llucklliey it not lp3 or street fighter x teeken complete i wouldl have waste money hheh
Was hoping for Remember Me (75% off). My hope was too high and I should've known Capcom would be pushing Dead Rising 2 sales with Dead Rising 3 coming out soon. Even though it's oddly a Xbone only exclusive.

I have no desire to add another zombie apocalypse game to the backlog right now when there are better ones out there. Plus it just doesn't look that fun or enjoyable.

Another game that's more fun in co-op. The first playthrough can be rough (doesn't hold your hand), but rewarding if you stick with it. 2nd playthrough you're a higher level and know your way around.

If you die you keep your XP even though you have to choose an older save. Might be a good idea to grind a bit if youre having trouble.

Just noticed on gaf that Remember Me and Lost Planet 3 are region free now and the capcom sale lasts until tomorrow, so im guessing remember me for 13 bux tomorrow ;O

I only played DR2: Off the Record and despite having challenging boss fights, I never felt grinding would be necessary (in fact it would be a waste of mission time). Also from what I could tell, there were checkpoints anytime you entered an area, and usually before boss fights as well; Did the original version not have checkpoints?

In any case, the game was right up my alley. Silly sense of humor, tons of experimentation and things to use as weapons, creative game mechanics; not at all just "another zombie game" in  my opinion.

The CAG in me feels bad for paying almost retail for The Wolf Among Us. Then again this game is so damn good I don't feel bad at all. Even at $20, it's worth the price of admission.

This week has not been nice on my wallet. I bought DMC, The Wolf Among Us, SF X Tekken, Pokemon X.

According to the Steam threads, Onimusha 3 has some problems with Windows 7 that are a pain to fix. That's disappointing but not a surprise considering Capcom's past porting history. Looks like a pass for me

Regarding RE6, 20mins of unskippable cinematics at the start of the game killed it for me. And that dumb plot "i will tell you but we need to go to the church first."

I may play it again someday but there are other sensible game for me to play first.

That's good to know it has some fun and entertaining aspects going for it. What would you compare DR2: Off the Record to, if there is something to compare it to?

whoops im sorry my cap lock but yea i piss off microsoft  sucks they would get more money if the put halo on steam and put dr3 on pc cause pc was where they begin not console dumbsoft

Same exact experience for me, but with Off the Record. I regretted buying it immediately, hated it so much.

I've played a bit of Case Zero (sense it was free on XBL), and didn't like what I played at all. It just felt clunky and checkpoints were annoyingly placed. I'm not sure if I would like it once I got farther in, but I've no desire to go back after the 1-2 hours I tried of it :fridge:

I haven't heard of this before, does it come with all 5 episodes right away or are they staggered releases like Walking Dead's episodes?

Its from Telltale, releases will be just like Walking Dead. Heard the game is great and maybe even goty material.
How can anyone say that, if there's only one episode out? Jumping the gun.

I don't see anything on the product page to indicate you aren't getting all 5 episodes immediately. The closest they get is "over a season of content".

This, again. Dead Rising 2 is a lot of fun in co-op. Main issue I have with the game(s) is that the whole game is timed, making it feel like I'm rushed. You're going to have to skip a lot of the side missions unless you know exactly what you're doing which can be frustrating. I know OTR has a sandbox mode, but IIRC it doesn't let you play the story/side missions so it doesn't really fix this issue for me.

Anyway, it's a really nice co-op game.. the only real downside is that I think only the host gets to keep the save.

^This is my main gripe as well. The gameplay was fun for me, but that alone was not enough to carry the entire game in my mind. I tend to take my time and do all side quests, exporing, playing around, etc. before progressing the main story and I just could not adapt myself to DR2's seemingly forced do this now or never mechanic.

You get one episode monthly. Buying the game gets you the first episode, and when the new ones come out, they get automatically downloaded and unlocked. It's about time they got their act together on episodic content, having single entries for every single episode from each of their earlier games was kind of a pain in the butt.

It's like all of Telltale's work, seasonal. I have the game and beat part 1 today. Part 2 comes out I believe in November.

While it might be jumping the gun to say it's GOTY material, I will say part 1 is probably Telltale's best work to date, and if the level of quality lasts all five parts, then I can say it's defiantly GOTY material. While the Walking Dead is a offshoot of the comics/tv show, Fables is actually canon with characters straight from the comics.

But, I thought Dead Rising 2 in its Main Mode was a game meant to be played and replayed from scratch and/or with saved games lots of times (like old school games)?

It's timed, so you can't do every side quest - you take what you think you can get and move on, like it or not.

That's what makes it hard - it's timed and it's supposed to always be intense b/c of that, not free-form and not-timed like Dead Island.

Why on earth would an episodic game deliver all episodes at once? The entire point of that delivery method is that they space it out. Otherwise it's just, y'know, a regular game. The only time episodic games have done that is if they were old and added onto Steam later, like Cognition debuting with 3/4 episodes released.

I never found it to be difficult, it just goes against how I like to play games. I'm not a 100% completionist, but I do like to try to do all available quests. I'm one of those people that likes to spend time grinding sometimes and being tied to a timer just made me feel a bit handcuffed in the having fun department.

I thought Telltale's Jurassic Park was released all at once. Netflix Style. That came out just a few years ago, so it's not unreasonable to believe that they might do it again.

You can do every side quest in one run. The time limits are more lenient in 2 compared to 1, you just need to keep moving. The bigger problem is making sure none of the survivors die while escorting them since you'll be escorting several at once a lot of times.

I actually liked the time limit in the Dead Rising games, sad to see it go away in 3 if it ever comes to PC.

I wasn't saying they should release it this way or that way, I was commenting that it doesn't tell you directly on the product page that you're only getting the first part. The release format is not very well described there.

Look at brightside: At least with Telltale games you won't spend half-life waiting for next episode.
LMAO! :D

I think a brand-new full-blown iteration in a Half-Life (i.e. it has a new number - i.e. HL1, HL2) is that series Valve trots out along w/ its new Engine to say any of the following:

"Hey! Look at me! I'm a graphical & technical marvel! I'm beyond anything else out there! Drool now!"

"Oh, look at my engine - 3rd party dev's, you know you want to license this engine for your game!"

Only thing is - unlike Id Software, when Valve drops a brand-new engine, they drop an amazing new shooter that ALSO have both a great story & great characters.
