I have taken the liberty of linking many of the games and the price they WILL be.
I tried to limit the ones to the games that are at the lowest they have been.

Im starting to think people expect places to just give them free games for walking in the door on black friday, lol.

Anyways, yeah some good stuff here. My buddy has to work black friday so going to pick  him up some stuff along with what im getting.

Last year my Gamestop opened at midnight and when I went at around 2 am to get my ps3 there was no one in the store so this wont be bad at all. Plus I can just ask them to put stuff aside for me a few days before.

buy the way, does gamestop run their buy 2 get 1 free pre-owned black friday specials online at gamestop.com?

how about the est of the black friday deals? or are those in store only?

I'd like to see some $8 games like Best Buy had in 2011.

http://bfads.net/Black-Friday/Best-Buy/2011/Ad?page=16

WOW MOP was $9.99 off and on all of last month through the MS Store.
Thats great but did it also come with a code for a month (or two - not likely to be 2 months) off as well???

If its 9.99 + a month off, then I am getting it for free basically and getting a month at a discount. Again, though, is that code for game time? Thats what the question is.

I expect Walmart and Best Buy will be where the real action is yet again this season. Target will have one or two things, TRU may have a deal or two as well, but BB and Walmart are the heavy hitters that can price competitively. The microsoft store is another one to watch, however they're very limited in their locations. The Gamestop ad is nice, as it gives a sense of what will be on sale everywhere, but historically, Gamestop always has some of the worst Black Friday deals and this year appears to be no different.

Sure, they look good now, but wait a few weeks until the real deals start showing up. I'm calling Skylanders Swap Force for $35 at Walmart this year.

only thing i expect tru to have is the usual discounts on shovelware and their b1g1 for 5$ deal

Some decent deals for sure. Not much that interests me but others may be pleased with it.

May try to get a few PS+ cards plus a copy of Rayman Legends on Wii U.

If this gamestop add is the "worst" of the black friday deals then you are going to see some crazy deals at other places.

its honestly a very good ad so not sure why its getting all this hate. Im guessing its because people jsut have a hatred for gamestop. Im sure come black friday the people saying that this is a crap ad will be in the store getting these deals like always, lol.

He's right though. GS has had the worst ads. In the past most of the ads were MSRP advertisements. This is the best GS BF ad I've seen.

It's shaping up to be a huge black friday, read an online article that Walmart is going for their record in BFAD sales due to a poor year, and I am sure BB is right with them since they are having such a bad year.  I said it earlier in this thread, GS always has the worst deals, so for them to put an ad up that actually has me saying hey, I might actually go there, tells me that the other big guns are going to really bring out all the stops!

This.

$30 for PS+? Sold. $15 3-month Xbox live? Not as great as Best Buy and Target's deals from previous years, but I'm sure both places will beat that price. The deals, more than likely, only get better from here. Hell GS is always one of the last places I hit on BF.

The PS3 w 2 games for $200 seems like a decent deal, but remember this will be for a last-gen system come BF. Not as impressive as when similar bundles were available last BF for the same price, when the PS3 was a current-gen system.

Im in for like 3-5 PS+ cards, enough to basically cover me through the ps4 console cycle. Already have 2 years of ps+ currently, 5 would put me at 7 years. Stock up and never have to worry until ps5.
Isn't that a bit much? What if they change the program 2-3 years down the line (multiple tiers) or something? The $30 price also assumes that there won't be a similar/better deal on BFs going forward.

I'm just wondering outloud because I'm good through June 2015 and could also extend my subscription too.

Likely wont ever see that at Gamestop. Plus I don't think those $8 games looked very good even in 2011, lol.
Will have to agree nothing special for $8 even for back then. I went to BBY that year and didnt even pick those up lol. Only good one at the time was the Gears Triple Pack.

Im sad that today is the lowest amount of GS credit Ive had all year. Wont have much credit for BF. Only have $60 at the moment. Used all of my spare credit to buy my little brother a Red Pokemon 3DS XL.

People say that same thing every year and while BB and Walmart will undoubtedly have some surprises, I wasn't all that impressed with their deals last year, especially considering they were mostly the same general pricing as what this GS ad is showing. I also guarantee that this PS3 bundle with the two games isn't unique to Gamestop and every major retailer will have it for the same $200 just like they all always do. I wish people would just keep their expectations in check as nothing has really changed all that much in the past five years and expecting AAA games released in the past two months to be $10 or $15 at Walmart or BB is just not gonna happen although $25-$35 is very likely just as the Gamestop ad is showing.

Well put. People just expect triple AAA titles from October and November of this year to be $20 or less on BF. Which is a ridiculous expectation.

Yeah no way that happens. $25-35 is the realistic expectation.

Usually 2014 EA Sports games, 2k14 are about $25-30

There is usually a super popular game released the previous month at $35 and a few others in the same range or just a bit cheaper.

The $10-20 are usually games released that year but not in the fall time. Maybe summer games or before.

Anyways, thanks OP for the list. Good stuff :D

I'm not expecting AAA new release titles at $20 or less, and I thought last year was pretty good...  I got a lot of what I wanted for $30 or less... that's been the norm, was simply stating that it could be even better, and no it isn't what retailers say every year, look at the figures as far as revenue goes for stores and their stock prices... Big box and in store retailers are bleeding at the eyes!

BB especially needs a good showing, or next year could be their last, no joke... It's Circuit City all over again.  Every week I talkt o friends there and they are reshuffling how corporate works and using less managers, and downgrading staff... It is on its way out.

Amazon has been and will continue to kill it.  They match every single black friday deal, no taxes for some, free 2 day shipping, and no need to leave the house.  The other retailers have to really do something crazy to really compete with Amazon and get back in the black!

2 out of the last 3 years Target had misprints that they honored. First it was Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu Ray for $7.99 the same year it was released and going for much more. Then last year was $10 for $20 in MS points. I got $200 in points for $100.

What I've done the past few Black Friday's is layaway the items I know I want at Walmart then on Black Friday grab all my ads, and price match upon pickup. Your done fast, doesn't really matter what time you get there as your items are secure, unless you are on a timed sale, ie. 5am-8am only. As things release add them to your layaway. Whatever you don't want/there isn't a sale for just have them remove the item from your list upon pickup. This system works great, no massive amounts of time waiting to get in the store or to pay. The black Friday app by deal news is pretty good about updating ads quickly as they release.

Wow 2 years later and I barely realized I missed the LOTR trilogy. Must of skimmed too fast that year. :oldman:

Not a bad deal on that PS3 bundle, I don't even care for those 2 games. I already finished the last of us from a redbox rental so yeah. You can easily sell the 2 games for around $90 though....

Amazon SUCKED last year, except for the AC Liberation Vita Gold Box. Most of their "price matches" we're lightning deals that sold out within a minute or two. A few were OOS in < 5 seconds.

Combine the limited stock and cutthroat completion for the best deals with the fact that that now collect sales tax in my state and Amazon's pretty much at the bottom of my BF list. I'm sure I'll pick up a few movies, but I fully expect Amazon to be even worse this year as they're feeling less pressure from B&M retailers.

How long is the last of us and is it any good?

edit: Nevermind, asked a Game Informer guy on Twitter who said it's VERY good then looked up metacritic. 95.

TLOU should be somewhere for 30 if not 20. Kmart just had it on sale for 40 reg. A couple good deals but nothing worth getting out of bed for.

Most of the deals they price matched last year popped up multiple times for lightning deals during Black Friday and during the weekend. Also, a number of the items actually came back in stock at the Black Friday prices and weren't lightning deals. I had no problem whatsoever last year getting anything I wanted on Amazon.

agreed, all amazon did was pricematch other retailers, and they did it with the gold box deals, which last like 5 minutes.

Hmm... time to upgrade my 3DS to XL for Zelda version... hmm...  Digital copy... hmm... I got a couple weeks until Zelda releases to make that decision.

amazon was horrible last year. the the lightning deals which were just price matched games sold out in literally 2 seconds smh. i hope it isnt just price match mania with them again this year

Same here. Wonder how much my 3DS will get towards it. The XL is tempting me each day I see my roommates with them and a Zelda one at that. Shiny gold....

Boy oh boy. That Zelda 3DS XL is pretty smexy. It's awfully tempting... But enough with the downloads, Nintendo! Give us the physical copies!

Some good deals for sure.

One thing I'm wondering about is how many sales will this leaked ad now cost? Dishonored GOTY was only released a little over a week ago so anyone that hasn't already bought it will now just wait for a guaranteed lower price on Black Friday.

Also, Frontburnr needs to pressure Toys R Us into either leaking their BF ad or have some amazing deals lined up. The Buy One, Get One 40% off isn't as good as of a deal on games that will be cheaper individually.

No it has nothing to do with hating on GS. $40 on brand new titles isn't a good deal. I think most people were looking for $30 on all recent releases. Maybe $35 at the most, but $40 is something many could have gotten within a month of release or even launch day (BB's promo). They at least have BF4 for that price for those that care. IMO, for BF, any software offer should be at least 50% off to be really enticing. The PS3 bundle looks good but with the PS4 out, how many people on here are really looking for PS3s? In all honesty, the $30 Plus is the only thing Id consider getting from this ad. Nothing else is really too aggressive in terms of compelling me into the store.

How long is the last of us and is it any good?

edit: Nevermind, asked a Game Informer guy on Twitter who said it's VERY good then looked up metacritic. 95.
the average person will beat it in 18 hours. It is REALLY long for a game of that genre. At least twice as long as any of the Uncharted games
