I am looking into getting Xfinity TV and Internet at my house but the package does not include On Demand. My parents currently have Comcast Xfinity with On Demand that I use online. Does anyone one if I were to sign into the Xbox Xfinity App at my house (after getting Xfinity internet connected) will the app work using their log in? I have seen conflicting reports and figure someone on here will have the answer. Thanks in advance!

It should work if you use their info, I believe that's similar to how my gf's sister used it on her ipad last summer.

I feel for ya though if you have to go with Comcast, not the best service I have ever had to say the least.

I can get it on my ipad (and computer) now but I can't get the app on the 360 to work with my current internet (uverse). I read that all you need is an Xfinity internet connection and the system will let you sign in and use it through your Xbox. I figure someone here is using a friends/parents account to get tv while at college.

Comcast is not my first choice but the only other option is uverse. Unfortunately, uverse is actually the more expensive option in my area and have significantly slower internet.

My sister-in-law has comcast and usually their internet performs almost like dialup. On the other hand it works better for my Mom. So I guess good luck?

Comcast seems to be pretty good in my area. The package includes 50 Mbps Internet (I currently get 18 Mbps from Uverse). Even if I only get 50% of the advertised amount, I would still have more than enough speed to cover everything I do.

[back on-topic] Anyone have insight into my Xfinity App quandary?

on topic, it should work. you just need an xfinity user name and password (your parents would have it, but might not even know it) to log in.

The wording on Comcast site makes it seem like it has to do with the actual modem tied to the original account. However I read in forums that you only need Xfinity internet and don't have to be on the same modem as the one who subscribes to On Demand service. My modem will be different (different MAC ID) from the subscribers modem. If I sign into the app at my house and use their login, would it deny the connection since it's not the same modem. I figured someone on here has to be doing this (or at least tried).

again, it shouldnt deny you my gf sister got it to work. and if you have an ipad then you are not always going to use the same modem. it may be different if you are hardwired though. have you tried posting about this in the xbl forums?

I know that works for ipad (I have one and use it on uverse Internet). The Xbox Xfinity App does a verification process to ensure you are on Xfinity internet. I want to know if I need to be connected to the modem that actually has the on demand subscription or will any xfinity internet work (I.e at a place that does not have on demand access attached to the modem).

No, I thought it was not really gaming related so I posted it here.

yea best bet is to check there, it should have its own thread (i think the apps do, if not theres a place to post about it surely)
