I liked the Alien Breed trilogy games. They were campy and fun enough if not spectacular. I am a huge twin stick shooter fan though. Less than $6 for 3 games is a good deal for anyone interested.

I am also looking forward to The Last Guy for $2. I have had that on my "PSN want" list a while now.
Thanks for letting me know about The Last Guy, it looks really fun!! I'll put down $2 for it tonight. Anyone own the alien breed trilogy? Back with the ps3 launch, I really enjoyed project overkill... this game looks like a top-down shooter similar. Anyone who owns the game recommend the bundle?

ok, think I've almost got my $50 squared away:

- street fighter x tekken
- okami hd
- bionic commando rearmed 1/2
- final fight
- walking dead vita
- alien breed trilogy
- the last guy

now to determine if I just get filler avatars for the last $1.51 or go over $50 and get dead island goty, dead rising 2, or that d&d brawler before it disappears today.

I asked this a few pages back but it got buried by excitement over the sales:

Does anyone have any experience with the digital version of Dead Island on PS3? I heard that the PS3 version had a lot of issues compared to 360, but I didn't know if it was improved when the game is running from the HD.

And I'll repeat, The Last Guy is an awesome little game that will probably be overlooked because of the bigger names in the sale. Give the demo a shot or watch some videos.

Alien Breed Trilogy for just $5.75 is a fantastic deal. I'm surprised that there's not much interests on here. Each game has a platinum as well.

Picking up Alien Breed Trilogy

Resident Evil 4 HD
I am interested in the Alien Breed Trilogy at that price, but where is that price coming from? I do not see it on the list of sale items on the blog.

The cheapest copy I can find online of the Asian version of Siren is $30 shipped. So is it worth $20 more just for some more gore? Everything I read online said there is no story difference just some cutting and blurring to hide some of the excessive gore. Is this correct?

It blows my mind that on the cag forum, we're all taken by spend more get a little deals. Taken into consideration upcoming releases and everyone's backlog and free time, Noone should hit $50 spent. Those are good deals but perhaps it's best to cherry pick your selections based on all factors and not getting 20% back.

I think sometimes you look at a deal and it's like well it's only $5 or only $2 which sways you somewhat but with that said this go around getting to $50 for me was pretty easy. The purchases I've made thus far were really games I wanted at the prices offered.

Yeah, I am not going to make $50 and stopped trying after buying Klonoa. :) All I play these days is Spelunky anyway. Might as well wait until my addiction dies down a bit before spending any money on other games. Spelunky has been the best money saver ever for me. LOL. But... I am drawn to deals anyway and have to resist. Not alway easy!

why not? for me, things like sfxt and final fight are things that I'll pick up and play to relax for short bursts (same for pacman dx). since I've abandoned my xbox account completely I was looking to get some of the capcom stuff back that I'd lost as a result. I've been looking to try out both okami and walking dead (which I knew I would only play on the vita) and these are the first notable sales on those titles that I'm aware of. and I believe this is the first sale on the last guy in three years? at that point I'm approaching $40, so not spending the last $10-$15 is silly to me since it was already in the ol wallet and it comes right back to me. guess that's the point of the promo.

even being on cag, it's weird to me that people make sweeping statements like 'no one should be spending $50' even though it should be apparent that everyone's lifestyles/playstyles/financial means/approaches to backlog are totally different. I might not plat all of these games in the next 72 hours, but I like that I'll be able to pop in to them whenever I want as opposed to finishing everything I have and then thinking 'now I can play okami. well, as soon as there's another sale.'

Bionic Commando Rearmed unavailable for anyone else?

CAG is in the eye of the beholder.

You mean unavailable to buy? Are you on the console store or online store? I know my console store showed it as unavailable and I had to find it by going to Games>Digital and then sorting by A-Z and finding it there.

I agree with your point. It would better to actually debate what a true backlog means, considering the implication of having one nowadays is because of trophies/achievements not earned. Buy what you want to play, not complete.

Yeah, it won't let me buy it because I downloaded the demo (though I also downloaded the second game's demo and could buy it). Tried it on both and says the same thing. Not a big deal since I don't think I actually care enough for it to buy it.

For the best since now I can just get Mystara, Okami (if the Wii version I'm loading now looks as bad as YouTube portrays), and maybe Final Fight.

I think you misunderstand the purpose of CAG for most people here. The purpose of CAG for most people is not to spend as little as possible on gaming but instead to get as much as possible for your money. There is a subtle but distinct difference.

EDIT: I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong in how they view it or operate. We all waste money in stupid ways - whether it's gaming or something else.

there was a ton of good stuff released/on sale this month. i hit $50 without trying just picking up stuff that i was going to buy anyway.

I had thought I was going to wait for Okami as a PS+ title, but then I made the mistake(?) of watching the trailer and broke down and bought it. My word is that game gorgeous :droll:

If it makes you feel better I bought it for Wii and PS3 within the last month now. The Wii version isn't unbearable but looks like the PS2 version in 16:9 but after seeing the PS3 version it's so much cleaner I had to get it for $7.

I had the Wii version a few years ago, but eventually sold it because I had gotten stuck (and still sold games at that point). Hopefully I will finally finish it this time ^_^

Wish we knew if purchases from when the store updates on the 29th are going to count towards the promo or not.  If they do I'll be at $40 and should grab Remember Me as well.  I guess $10 was my price point and by the time the physical copy hits that the resale value will be so low it probably won't matter anyway.

Unrelated to Plus but Beyond Two Souls is getting Android and IOS support.  Of course, the blog is getting mostly slap in the face comments for not giving it to the Vita.  It's like walking into a hospital nursery and all the babies have colic.

I think I'm gonna skip RDR. I already have the Nightmare Collection on my gettinmoney name, so maybe I'll just wait for a sale on the game by itself, which leaves me about $14 short. I was planning on buying the LBP Vita Marvel DLC, so maybe I'll just buy a full price $10 game.

Yeah, but for me, it almost never seems to pay to buy a game before i am close to being ready to play it. It doesn't matter how good the deal is. The game is likely to go on sale for less (or with PS+, even free) before I ever get around to it. So getting the most for my money by spending $50 now is questionable at best.

I saw the deal for Walking Dead on Vita for 14.99 for BF and was going to wait, but now this sale comes and offers it for $10... I really would like to own a retail copy of the game, but this sale makes it tough. I wonder if the price on the cartridge will drop now.

Should I pick up Deus Ex: Director's cut for 29.99? I need just that amount for the $10 promo, and I've been wanting this game since it came out.

TLoU

TWD 400 DLC

TWD Vita

RE4

Now if I can only complete Skyrim and Dragon's Crown I might get a chance to play these games before Halloween!

Why is Spelunky so addicting?  I have seen several posts about it in here.  I can go look at videos and reviews later, but I never paid attention to it until recently with all the chatter.

You played Binding of Issac or Dungeons of Dredmor? I bought it on PC and PS3 (for the Vita version). It offers the same replayability that Binding and other rogues offer. You unlock/learn more as you keep playing and fuckING DYING. I do some stupid shit to kill myself, but you can also get some really good runs going with items. I bought it like a week ago and have put almost 40 hours on PC.

It certainly has that "one more go" hook. Almost all deaths are because you the player did something stupid. The risk / reward balance is there at every turn. Your ego keeps poking you on the shoulder saying "the mechanics are so simple, why can't you make it out of the jungle?" I dunno, you should try a demo and see if it hooks you. I sometimes start my gaming sessions with "just a few rounds" of spelunky and well... there goes the night.

Good taste! I bought the same stuff except for TLOU, still contemplating it though. Might have to break the $20 or less rule even though I own it on disc. I still also kind of want Resident Evil Revelations even though I finished it on the 3DS and the RDR bundle even though I have it on the XBOX. Someone help me, I've become a PS addict.
