Besides Gunslinger and Cloudberry, how do you guys not have these Ubisoft games that have dropped a dozen times before?

The being said, with my recent "episode" with Microsoft, I may actually re-buy a few of these just so I can have them on the only real console this gen, the PS3.  Beyond Good and Evil*, Gunslinger, From Dust, and Clash of Heroes are all maybes at those prices.

*Hey guys, does this thread know about my dislike for Beyond Good & Evil HD?  The invert controls SUCK!  You can either invert *BOTH* the X-axis and the Y-axis, or you can invert *NEITHER* the X-axis and the Y-axis.  There's no option to invert just one of them, so us Y-axis inverters are kind of screwed when trying to play this game.

Is Cloudberry Kingdom dog ugly?  Yes.

Is the soundtrack terrible?  Yes.

Has cross-buy for Vita been confirmed?  No.

Will you be able to 100% the game?  No.

Should you still buy it for $2.50?  Yes!   The simple but addictive platforming gameplay is awesome.  The game gets pretty damn tough but it's a thoroughly enjoyable game for platform enthusiasts.  It's the most fun hardcore platforming I've had since Super Meat Boy.

yea, my boy is 10... He is in that sort of funny age where the games he wants to play (CoD, Killzone) still are a bit too much for him. He does not want to read during a game... that is "homework." No, it is LIFE. We read all of the time. (Groan...) Anyway... so the story means zilch to him.
Haha.... my boy is headed in that direction. I keep trying to show him different situations where reading comes in handy and would help him out.

Ten, eh? Hmm... I forgot my son and I played through the G.I. Joe game from the first movie. Its nothing special (actually pretty bland) but its not horrible either. It might scratch that shooter itch he's got and its co-op so you'll be able to play together. My son really got into trying to unlock all the characters.

I really liked Gunslinger.  The light RPG elements really made it more appealing than the standard FPS game, and the slightly cel-style artwork was nice as well.  I still felt like it was a bit too long and I didn't particularly care for the duels, but it's still easily worth $3.75.

Wow - insane price drops this week - there goes my $20 credit: I've only been a ps+ member for about 2 months now, but I'm  wondering why I didn't sign up sooner!

Call of Juarez for me. Was hoping there would be a sale on some Ratchet games to coincide with Into the Nexus being released this week. I just want Deadlocked at a cheaper price.

Not that this is really all that interesting, but Morgan in the comments confirmed that Strangers Wrath Vita is coming next week (11/19) for PS+.  Meaning we won't be getting Soul Sacrifice until the 26th.  Just a heads up for anyone who cares...

I did a crazy thing, completely eliminated my backlog. Stuff I kinda wanted to play got put into a maybe in another life and I made it through games I really wanted to play. Sold my ps3 and games so getting into the ps4 with no backlog and no money.
 That's awesome. Seriously. I've been really trying to get my shit together and stick to 1 console and actually play the stuff I really want to play as opposed to the stuff that I just have. The other night I was going through games to play and picked out Green Lantern. I played it for about 5 minutes and said what am I doing? It's not terrible but there are better games to be played. I came to my senses and went back to Infamous (1st playthrough) and felt much better about my choice.

Having recently finished some amazing games like The Last Of Us, Tomb Raider, God of War III, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 etc. with my limited time to game I feel like I need to be a bit more selective at this point. I think my problem is I've been of the mentality more so in the last few years that when I buy a game and start playing it I need to finish it but I might be better off just moving on.

I'm down to about 25 or so physical games but I know my digital backlog has grown a bit especially with these great sales. In any event it might be time to purge some more if I can.

I'm getting a PS4 but I plan on making it my only "next-gen" system and I literally want to buy and play 1 game at a time.

Does anyone know if Rachet and Clank: Into The Nexus (digital version) will also have Quest For Booty with it? It said originally the retail version but there didn't seem to be any information for the digital version.

Couldn't agree more with you guys. This last year I had a similar moment. I saw this generation of consoles winding down and there were so many heavy hitters I hadn't played because I was busy messing around with games that were good, but not great - something that a lot of us on CAG end up doing because of all the deals. I recently decided to walk away from games that I'm just not having a lot of fun with even if people love them. This year I walked away from Batman AA, LA Noire, Kirby's Epic Yarn and a few other major games that I just couldn't get into. I used that time to catch up on stuff like the Mass Effect series and am way happier for it. I don't care if everyone loves those games - they weren't cutting it for me and it was taking up what precisous little gaming time I have.

I've been doing something similar to this as well. I just separated the games I kinda want to play from the ones I feel are must-plays. I'm not ready to get rid of those "kinda" games yet, but I've put them on the backburner for now.

I need to remember to buy Guacamalee  (spelling?) tonight. For vita.

Playing Gravity Rush on it. It's entertaining, but the mechanics for it are confusing.

I for one am going to continue the practice of buying most things I find kinda interesting because it's an ultra deal that might not come around again. You know in case I get locked in my basement and can only play games instead of work and parent and husband. I'll be set and all you born-again backlog haters will be sooooo bored.

I think I'm doing worse than the opposite - instead of finishing up the must-plays I'm trying to 100% Germinator because of tylerh1701 and his damn hamster. I don't know how it came to this.

Also, if anyone's interested and happens to have an Amex, you might have a '$20 credit for spending $79 at walmart.com' offer available to you. Snagged 2 x $50 PSN cards with my $10 wtf happened to walmart.com freebie egift card making it $70 total.

I thought the mechanics were straightforward, did you remember to look at Kat's hair to determine the gravity direction? Helps your orientation a lot.

I take no responsibility for anyone ever playing Germinator.

Hamsterball > Germinator

Ahhh, Good call! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my free $10. Bought a $20 PSN card for $10. Good stuff.

Update: My order was cancelled for no reason at all! Ugh I hate Walmart.

Update 2: Re-Ordered, wasn't cancelled yet.

There's no option to invert just one of them, so us Y-axis inverters are kind of screwed when trying to play this game.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. That said, the game is good enough, and short enough, that I struggled through the control system and was able to 100% the achievements on the 360 version. I think I ended up inverting, as it was easier for me to wrap my head around the camera moving side to side in the opposite direction I expected than in the vertical direction.

That's my plan to eventually get through it. Sly 2 also doesn't allow inverted Y-axis controls, so I plan to play them both around the same time when I'm ready to try and retrain my brain how to play.

Contrast is the ps3 version cross buy?
I just tweeted the developers a similar question. If I get a response I'll post it.

So I wonder if part of Microsoft's timed exclusivity deal for Minecraft included a stipulation where 4J Studios/Mojang have to botch getting Minecraft over to Sony consoles in a timely manner.  Now they are only working on the PS3 version of the game, with PS4 and Vita versions on the backburner.  It was originally supposed to be a PS4 launch game.

No matter whether you like the game or not, Minecraft is a HUGE seller and not having it available at launch on the PS4 is a big deal.

Weird that I don't remember noticing that. Beyond Good and Evil drove me nuts though, along with Munch's Oddysee.

I need to remember to buy Guacamalee (spelling?) tonight. For vita.

Playing Gravity Rush on it. It's entertaining, but the mechanics for it are confusing.
Why just just do it now? That's why I love the PSN store website, you don't have to be at home to make a purchase, you just have to have access to the internet. Since that new feature (and the ability to add something to your download queue from the website) I probably do less than 5% of my store browsing on my PS3 anymore.

Makes sense to me, focus on the version which is going to have a much larger user base first before it starts to shrink too much due to the new generation. As a bonus, you get to make die hard fans re-purchase the game for the PS4 when it is eventualy released.

so what is Minecraft anyways? I seriously have no idea.

Yes, definitely getting Outland at that price (yes I missed the sales/PS+, no one's perfect). I want Cloudberry Kingdom, but I'm not sure I need it now. I've still got SMB, Dustland, and Rogue Legacy to scratch that tough-as-nails platformer itch, so I will have to think a bit on it.

Yeah Sly 2 definitely doesn't have inverted controls. Played for about 5 minutes and couldn't stand it. Please tell me you're not talking about Munch's Oddysee HD? I was looking forward to playing it!

Anyone want to sell me on Outland?
I do wholeheartedly, but I have a meeting in 9 minutes. If anyone hasn't already I tell you about all its awesomeness later.

You launch and it creates a random landscape (and underground) of forest, mountains, saves, rivers, etc. The world is also populated with enemies and monsters (that particularly come out at night). Mine for resources by destroying blocks and then use those raw resources to craft tools and other items to help you build up a home base and survive against enemies. To start building you just place a block at a time of resources you have collected. But ya, it's like the digital evolution of lego with some survival gameplay thrown in the mix.

I am talking about Munch's Oddysee HD. But still, just play it with Sly 2 and Beyond Good and Evil, because it's great IMO. It was only the Y axis that I had trouble with. It didn't bother me too much seeing as it's not very action-oriented.

I think the deals are nice and all, but I believe that I have enough games, even with the all the backlog I've covered in the run up to the PS4 launch. I'm getting three games for it, thanks to amazon and their sweet deal, with Plus that increases to 5. Still trying to complete some games, play some multiplayer (TLOU multiplayer is very, very good) and minimize the backlog. I envision this Christmas as gaming heaven. Good times.

Terrible news, I really want to play all of those games, but I cannot deal with a Y-axis that isnt inverted. It's such a simple option, I don't understand why some games don't offer it.

We’ll be back next week to add another title to the Instant Game Collection as well as any other benefits, like super sweet discounts.

If you’ve got feedback on today’s Plus update make sure vote in the poll and leave a comment below. To discuss all things PlayStation, including this update, you can also head over to the PlayStation Community Forums where you’ll find topics you can contribute your thoughts to, or start one for yourself.
Make sure to pre-order Warframe on PSN to get even more bonuses than what PS+ will give you.

Does anyone know if Rachet and Clank: Into The Nexus (digital version) will also have Quest For Booty with it? It said originally the retail version but there didn't seem to be any information for the digital version.
No, it's exclusive to retail copies.

Anyone want to sell me on Outland?

Looks like they pulled it for whatever reason. Removing it from the OP.
Yeah, they said last week when they put the video up what the end date was on the pre-order and it was supposed to be through today so maybe they pulled it early?

Well that's crappy to delay something four days before launch.

Not that this is really all that interesting, but Morgan in the comments confirmed that Strangers Wrath Vita is coming next week (11/19) for PS+. Meaning we won't be getting Soul Sacrifice until the 26th. Just a heads up for anyone who cares...
It's Binary Domain for PS3 and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath for Vita next week.

Pre-orders are supposed to end the day it launches.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/11/07/warframe-ps4-pre-order-bonuses-detailed/

"To get this pack on launch day (or when you get your PS4), you’ll have to pre-order Warframe either through SEN on the web, or through PlayStation Store on your PS3 — found in the PS4 section — by November 12th."

Presumably the 12th was to coincide with the PSN update since it seems all the PS4 stuff is getting added on tomorrow.
