Is it true that Toys R Us's return policy for online/store pick-up orders is store credit only? My parents bought a Wii U that way, figuring if there was a better price closer to Christmas they could just return it but now it looks like they're stuck with MSRP. Anyone have experience with this?

If TRU has any kind of gift card deal with Wii U's in the next couple weeks could they take it in and do a return/rebuy or get them to match it? Any info on this would be helpful. Psyched that my parents are getting me a Wii U for Christmas, but if possible I'd love to use CAG's collective wisdom to get them some kind of deal.

Thanks.

These updates need to be more clear. Select Wii u games? Scribblenauts Wii u? Which one? Either?

arkham origins for only ps3? Why so nit-picky with the platforms? It makes me think that these aren't competitive deals; they're conniving ways to unload unsold/unwanted stock on sucker customers. Another example of this is the $5 GC with one 3ds game or $25 with two, because I know damn well there's only one game on the list worth buying at full price. You can get the others for much cheaper on Amazon.

this now completes my personal assessment. Sorry if you don't like it. I dont plan on arguing or discussing. This is from me to TRU, and I put zero "blame" on Josh. I know that there are corporate implications he must deal with, and that I do not understand. I've been a loyal TRU customer since Josh moved from Kmart, so I'm entitled to voice a concern, no matter how disagreeable it may be.

Scribblenauts is Unmasked. Unlimited was 50% off, but I am not sure it's still going on.

And you don't have to go to the store to find out this stuff. You could actually be smart and look at the TRU website. Takes less than 5 minutes.

ironically enough, you telling me was much much faster than trying to navigate the piss-poor TRU website on my phone. Thanks for your help, and for subsequently proving my point ;). But the easiest solution of course would be to include it in the OP. And thanks for implying that I'm not smart; that was a gem.

Hey Josh,
Some feedback for the stores: if they're going to be open until 11 pm for the holidays, then they need to have someone staff the RZone section. Had to wait quite a while and eventually go to the customer service desk at both the Sunset Hills and South County STL TRU locations to get service tonight.
I will say that here in CT, my experience with TRU customer service is leaps and bounds over Kmart lol

i did a store pickup order and was able to return it for a refund to my debit card (method of payment).

Think this has to be the best line I've ever heard.  Sorry sir as you can see you only spend 30.99 before tax on Skylander Figures and that's not enough to qualify for the 30 and get a 10 dollar gift card.  Our system doesn't recognize that you qualify for the promotion because you only spent 99 cents over the threshold and need to spend more.  You can return one of the figures and purchase a more expensive figure to qualify.  Had to get a manager over and review all of the fine print for 30 minutes before giving in and giving me the 10 dollar gift card.  Was less painful to get the cashier to override the price for Pokémon Y.

Thats pretty balls. At my store we generally have this type of situation after tax but before is absurd. At any case the manager or front end supervisors would just force it through anyway.

Doesn't apply to video games, but the code TAKE15 will take 15% off all regular priced toy on TRU's site. I believe the minimum is $30.

Honestly, I'm just not getting updates. It's sporadic. I'll get them in advance a couple weeks in a row than get in a dry spell where I do my best just to read the online ad on Sundays when everyone else can anyway.

Going to ask Cheapy to take Representative off my name; I'll still post as I see or receive the offers but I can't say I'm a part of their org or affiliated now with this lack of involvement.

Is this the best deal for a xbox one controller right now?  Buy a game, get controller for 40% off + $5 AMEX deal + $10 using coinstar?

I'm glad Josh is back, and at TRU not Kmart, but shuldn't the TRU weekly add have it's own new thread and not be 77 pages long having started back in March? B1G1 40% off seems like the last best chance for this holiday. Though it sitll seems like I might save more at Tagret w/ the $50 Skylanders adn $40 Lego Marvel next week. SM3DW doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere, though Kmart did haev it for $50 last week '-) Amazon seems to be OOS on just about everything I want.

Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, but does TRU even sell the PS4 camera?  Apparently not available online, and every single zip code I've entered indicates it's not available for pickup in those geographic regions.

Yes. They had one at my local store last week.

BOGO50 Select Nintendo titles at Best Buy. SMB3DW is one of them.

Has any one here in cag ever have their toys r us online order been "undeliverable" by the post office?
Local post office attempted delivery, package is undeliverable as addressed. Contact sender for further assistance.
That's what it says online on usps website, any one!?

It could have been the rare case of the driver being lazy.

Has anybody used their promotional gift card issued from TRU's 10% Holiday Rewards program earlier this year yet?  I'm looking to use a portion of my rewards this week.

In the past, I know they were issued out as certificates instead of gift cards.  Therefore any remaining balance that was not used was automatically forfeited.  But this year, it looks like it's being treated differently.  I got what appears to be a promo gift card in my email instead of a bunch of certificates.  I just want to make sure if I don't use up the remaining balance of my 10% promotional reward in one transaction that I'm not forfeiting anything.  To me, it looks like it's a gift card since there's a PIN to it and therefore the balance will just update automatically for future use.  TIA.

I get the same results for the Camera and Controller. Did TRU decided to have all PS4 accessories listed as unavailable?

I would have done that had Mario & Sonic included the blue controler for $60, or if they had Lego Marvel, or Skylanders, the other games I wanted. The rest of the list after SM3DW we either have or dont want that badly.

So I'm dedicating my Skylanders + SM3DW TRU purchase to Josh's return. $100.98 for the 2 seemed like a decent present price, since 1 is for each kid, though $50 each on video games doesn't really seem very CAG like, more like normal. Oh well.

I used my $5 rewards certificate during the Angry Birds Star Wars 3DS promotion. I purchased the game online and had it shipped, so the certificate has to be added to the total as an e-gift card and used before you input your credit card info. Hope this helps.

I believe it's today only, but online has a B1G1 60% off deal on certain video games going on right now. Most of the games are the $20 and under Superbuys, but Paper Mario Sticker Star, CoD: Ghosts (WiiU), and the Ghosts Hardened/Prestige Editions (360/PS3) are also eligible.

Maybe TRU would consider putting a pager system over in electronics/RZone? They already have them around my store, just not in electronics (i.e. the most convenient place to actually have them).

I apologize if this has been asked before... Does TRU have an in store stock checker for items that are not available for "store pickup"? For example, an item I am interested in stated "sold in stores", but I would like to confirm if it's at my closest store... Since it's not available for In Store Pick Up, there is no obvious way I can see, so hoping there is a back door of some sort.

Thought about super Mario 3d world and a pa4 controller even though I don't have a ps4 (thinking about using it with pc, really hope they can get mouse support for the trackpad).

Does anyone think there will be discounts on the controllers (say $45) in the near future on Ebay? Kinda like 360 controllers in the past.

-edit, wow I really screwed this post  up on my phone.

Just got an order I placed online earlier this week for Wii Party U and Mario 3D World. They jammed them both into a padded envelope, which got crushed and ripped open during the delivery process. The WPU box is crushed and both cases are marked up. Ugh. I assume I can bring the games back to a store and have them replaced, right?

As long as you're exchanging for the same exact items, you should be fine.

I apologize if this has been asked but if I buy two games at $60 each ($96 total roughly) and return one I would receive $48 back roughly right?

I imagine this has been asked, but if I'm planning to use the pre-order $15 off $59.99 coupon, will that stack with the b1g1 40% off if I add a second game during the transaction? I feel like it might because the first game would be 59.99 right?
