I really hope that deadlight goes on sale, wanted to play it despite people saying bad things about it inluding how short it is. but for a cheap price I'll get it cause the trial was interesting.
The only bad thing is how incredible short it is, apart from that, the game is a little gem.

I highly recommend Fez. It is an absolutely tremendous game. Had so much fun with it.
+1. That thing of 'a game that was only enjoyable at its release' is nonsenses. Just don't look up guides. Or do it when you have a high completion percentage.

If only you didn't have to pay for live and the 360 had a decent d-pad --then, I'd sell my sealed ps3 copy of UMvC.

Wouldn't pay .50 for Fez myself. Had nothing to offer me that I hadn't played in better classic games or modern platformers. Never once understood the praise for it besides from indie game hipsters who think the only good games are obscure indie ones.

The idea that someone mentioned it as a GOTY candidate is one of the most laughable things I ever heard. There are indie games on the actual indie section that have more to offer by far than Fez. It has little to do with the part of it's designer being an internet troll either. It's just a lackluster homage to better games of the past that you've already played.

I didn't like it either. It was really boring and tedious. I didn't even bother finishing it.

Any opinions on Fruit Ninja, Mini Ninjas, Freefall Racers and Doodle Jump? I'm almost already sold on Mini Ninjas and Freefall Racers...I have Fruit Ninja and Doodle Jump on my Smartphone..so the main question is...is it much different than the smartphone experience? ( I don't have the Kinect yet but will get one on X-mas)

TA stats tell me that Doodle Jump seems to be hard, and Fruit Ninja has a lot of DLC woth Achievements which have a higher price right now than the main game...

Fruit ninja is just like the smartphone game.

2 questions then.
1. Is it worth getting?
2. Can you actually get 100% achievements?
You can 100% Fez, and it was patched, so there are no saving issues (at least I didn't have any).

It's a very beautiful game visually, and the soundtrack is amazing. It's worth a try. As I previously stated (my opinion, and it seems that more users think likewise), the problem is that it gets boring pretty fast. It's one of the few arcade games I started and didn't see the ending (because I didn't want to waste a minute more travelling through portals to places I already visited).

Unfortunately, Fruit Ninja is actually one of the best kinect games. It's responsive and worth $1. No to mini ninjas and the others for control issues. Wreckateer maybe if you really like Angry Birds. It'd be nice for more kinect games to go on sale. But after Gunstringer, what's left? Sports and Rise of nightmares?

Hoping for some random titles like Monkey Island.

Think we will get a leaked list or not likely?
Looks unlikely. Whatever method used in the past apparently didn't work for people this time. I guess Microsoft thinks surprises lead to more impulse buys? Don't know. Personally I like planning ahead but I snagged a card ahead of time to avoid weather keeping me from a deal I want in on.

Not like they need it, but Minecraft has never been on sale. I think it's about due for a sale.

I was going through my e-mail and just searched for "Microsoft Points Code" and found a bunch of codes for Microsoft Points from winning contests that I have entered. I guess I never redeemed them. I got like $40 of credit. Cha-ching. :)

KInect Party is pretty good. Kids really like it.

Hey dude... just wanted to say thanks for making this thread great every week. The organization and formatting in your first post should be a template for many other 'long running' threads we have here. Hats off, Necrozilla. Cheers, mate. *clinks glass*

Spelunky seemed overwhelming when I first played the demo...then even the second and third and fourth times.  Then you start to move at a slower pace and look for the traps.  Then you start using bombs to make shortcuts.  Then you realize you can sacrifice enemy corpses and the damsel in distress on the alter to gain more life.  Then you find the pick axe and make your own path.

You start to figure things out and realize how deep the game actually is.  You also realize that sometimes you just get a bad draw and the stage is really hard.  I hadn't played it in months and picked it up a while ago and made it farther than I ever had.  You just chip away at it.  Sometimes it frustrates you but once you start getting better it is rewarding.

This all coming from someone who just doesn't like to be challenged in games anymore.  For me spelunky has a lot of depth.  Secrets.  I watched a lot of stuff on youtube and called it good but i'll still pick it up from time to time and explore a while.

So simply play the demo.  Play the demo until you like it or realize you won't like it.  At this price it shouldn't be a regret purchase if you just put in some time with the demo.  Too bad it's only a one day sale since you need to try it a few times first.

Buying for the music alone.

Spelunky would be instant buy if not for the inclusion of a forced time mechanic with the Grim Reaper showing up. Seriously why? Haven't played but does this bother any of you?

Yes, bothers me enough I wish I hadn't bought the game. I like taking my time, exploring around in games. At least I didn't overpay for it.

You can kill the ghost you know, it only has 9999 health ;)

I paid $7.50 for Spelunky and I think it was worth every penny, although we get the non-updated version on XBLA.

Eh mixed feeling about the ghost. At least he's slow. Plus if you let the ghost pass over jewels they turn into more valuable jewels. Overall I wish the game had a sunshine or relaxed mode to just let you explore with less difficulty...maybe more health or no one hit kill traps.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but are there plans to bring Terraria and/or Spelunky to Xbox One?  I'd rather get them there than on my 360 (though at these prices I really should just bite).

I have to disagree with this - if you want to play Kinect games at all, then for just $1 I think all of these games are worth it. If you have kids who play, don't even think twice for $1.

To buy the walking dead, or to wait for it to be cheaper sometime. Hm.
I understand the subjective nature of what is cheap, but this is 5 eps of GOTY quality content for less than $10? The disc versions had glitch issues I think though. I would recommend it. Marathoned all 5 in a couple days and it was intense.

Spelunky is a MUST BUY at this price.
It is, but buy the PS3/Vita version if you have that option. The PSN version is much better because it has the Daily Challenge (not to mention the much better d-pad). But buy it there soon as the sale on PSN ends today.

Regarding the Ghost, that is an integral part of the game, but I can appreciate some not appreciating it. :) As noted, the ghost serves a purpose too, beyond just trying to kill you.

Also, Fruit Ninja Kinect is awesome! That is an amazing buy for only a buck if you have Kinect. If you have Kinect you should have Fruit Ninja Kinect for sure.

Sale ended yesterday homie. Haha I'm having enough trouble keeping days straight this week without you confusing me moreso. It is definitely Wednesday and the PSN Spelunky sale is definitely over.

Nah not really. People in here are definitely correct in giving people a heads up about the style of play and difficulty. It is in no way a game for everyone and it's still money that could go to games they're more likely to enjoy than one that frustrates just as many people as it entertains.

Couple questions. Is the Terraria 360 version as enjoyable as the PC version? Any of you that have played it, do you feel like a controller fits it alright?

UMvC3- Since it's being delisted, does that mean if you forego getting the DLC you'll miss out on it, too?

RE: the Kinect games...

Kinect is very YMMV.  Part of it depends on your space you have to use it.  Ours here at my home, it doesn't work very well.  And that's trying it both normal, and with one of those Nyko "small space" things that clips over it.  If you have a lot of space though, I've used Kinect in those situations and it can be really good.  My daughter and I had some real fun with Once Upon a Monster, for example.  We have plenty of room to use Wii, but Kinect just needs tons of space to move around in that many people don't have.

If you have Kinect and the proper space to use it, those games are steals.  If you don't have the space to really use Kinect, it doesn't matter because all of the Kinect games will kinda' suck.
I have a ton of holiday get togethers and they're all running together and confusing me as well. Just got an email from a co-worker as well who thought it was Thursday today. This week just needs to end!
I feel your pain, however I'm flooded by exams and projects. In fact I've been so busy that I just realized we were so close to Christmas because this sales have already started. Definitely need the 23rd so I can get some sleep

Not sure the digital versions will ever go any cheaper. Maybe find a disk copy really cheap at some point, but I haven't seen tons of stock of that in stores...
The xbla versions of Walking Dead season 1 have been on sale for 50% quite a few times. Heck, the first episode has been free once or twice!

Looking forward to see tomorrow's deal. I hope that alongside Virtua Fighter FS, will be more fighting games.

For us it depends on the game too. Dance Central, Fruit Ninja and others work great, but Wreckateer is a disaster. We try to pull the bow back and we move sideways and stuff like that. It's frustrating and unplayable.

Thanks for all the input on the Kinect Games would have loved some insight on Doodle Jump but I guess I have the space and at $1 I shouldn't pass any of them? (Got already Wreckateer when it was free, and this game looks good from what I saw)

Hey guys, is there any reason to NOT request an early deposit on acquired credits from the 'Xbox Live Rewards' program's webpage?
