This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Lately I've been into molasses since Starbucks starting using it in their Gingerbread lattes this year. It's got a nice earthy flavor and some vitamins too.
Peppermint Mocha or gtfo!

Double postin like a beast. That's mobile for you.

This is mostly marketing. There's been a little bit of hypothesizing about why corn syrup sugars could be more harmful than cane sugar, but the science is pretty inconclusive. The problem is the ubiquity of sugars in the industrial diet. Cheap corn syrup eventually lead to that sugar being added to everything and a sweetening of our collective palate. It's not so much that cane sugar is better for you-- it's that everything has been hyper-sugared and we're consuming a lot more sugar than we did when the more expensive cane sugar was king.
I'm coming at it from a slightly different perspective. I have a son who suffered from a severe corn allergy. It's not easy finding stuff without corn in it - even lots of medicine uses corn as an emulsifier.

I just tend to try to avoid excess sugars, in general.

Ouch-- that has to be rough. Corn starches are *everywhere.*

Not wanting any flavor in your life is probably the polar opposite of controversial. I eat like Jesus, bread and water. Someone tried to put some lemon juice and sugar in my water once and they were swiftly reprimanded. Another person tried to put something called dressing on my salad and received lashing for it. Why would I want to taint the natural, robust taste of lettuce?
Herbs and spices, man.

Add to the food.

Don't drown it with heavily processed sugar and vinegar.

Well I think I made a good move by Nuuveming Bioshock Infinite since Amazon put their price back up to $40. I think it's going on sale again tomorrow but probably for the $13 they had given earlier on the EC list. Faith in my cheap ass skills have been restored.

I got in on a trade for the Bioshock infinite portion of somebody's Nuuvem bundle :) made my day. Didn't anticipate getting Bioshock Infinite for a good while

I really appreciate you taking the time to write all that combat stuff out. I did mess around with the auto-lock thingie to target enemies, but it didn't seem I was really doing damage unless I faced them? Seems too hectic and dark and scary. I like my games happy and with cuddles. Playing 99 Spirits and enjoying way more, but that's just me.
Is it your equipment or something? Or your character build? You should be doing damage.

And also - when offered a quest, don't just agree to do tackle quests and areas outside of your league/level/character builds - you WILL get bloody slaughtered.

Yes - TSW is meant to be, in tone, dark & scary. It's a "dark fantasy." It's about Secret Societies trying to stop the apocalypse from happening (which looks to be on the verge of happening here) - and while they're at it and in the process, they want to take advantage of the situation in an opportunistic manner so they can do what they always wanted to do: take over the world. If this ain't your thing - yeah, I'd suggest you probably should play something else.

Glad you tried to give it a chance.

For me, I think what really stands out for TSW game is its actual writing, dialogue, and voice-acting - especially for a MMO. It's exceptional (which usually is the case for most Funcom games w/ Ragnar Tornquist involved; i.e. go see TLJ & Dreamfall). I'd probably have loved for this game to have an offline mode, so I could play this offline all alone, when I so felt like it. Sometimes, I just don't wanna deal w/ other people - but, it is what it is. ;)

The thing with the EC is that based on past years Amazon does kind of compensate for it in their 'sale' prices, however some of the best deals were when Steam happened to put a game on sale in January that was on the EC list and Amazon price matched.

Of course there's no telling when or if that will happen.

This shit is bananas, today I reached my Like limit for the first time and I'm not used to it so I keep liking posts and getting an error. fuuuuuuuuuu-

I came very close to paying full price for AC Liberation but then happened to see someone selling Russian version for $4 off, close one! There's only one subid for the whole world so it should be safe.

One terabyte drives... you guys are cute.
What about tb ssd drives? I put one in my new machine, I don't think I could go back to regular drives even for storing games. I don't install all my games, just the ones I will probably play in the next few months. By the time I fill up a hard drive with games over a few years it's usually time for a fresh install anyways.

I was refreshing Amazon website ~7h to see if I could catch a glitch. I'll jump on that deal on Tuesday, after seeing that Bioshock Infinite is not included in Midweek Madness sale. I still haven't touched the first and second game from the series, but the season pass in my steam inventory screams that it wants to be activated. Now.

1TB SSD would be some serious shit. I only have a mere 120GB and it's half full with Windows. I can store maybe 3 games on there but a lot of games don't really need the extra speed.

I've found that some games like Saints Row 4 stutter or lag during saving unless you move the save location folder to the SSD as well as the game, crazy.

My situation exactly, I haven't finished the first two but I got that season pass for $5. I've had trouble sticking with the first game so I'm probably just going to skip them and play Infinite first. Otherwise I don't think I'll ever play it.

Yes, thanks to the stupid winter storm......My team mates live 90, 45 and 30 miles away from our corporate office, I live 12 and I'm the only one that didn't go in, does that make me a bad team player? Or a smart one! Damn native Michiganders used to driving in the snow, THAT"S NOT ME!!!! I'm a transplant valley girl from SoCal, I'll never enjoy driving in this crap! NEVER, I tell you!

....ok, I feel better now, off to build a fire, it's freeeeeeezing...
Fellow Michigander here as well. Although I'm native. This cold must be killing you lol. What part of Michigan you in?

Well I just said faith in my cheap ass skills have been restored, but then I immediately bought AC Liberation 1.5 weeks ahead of release instead of waiting til the last minute to look for a better deal than $4 off. Only time will tell if I've still got what it takes to be a CAG.

Hey it's letting me do Likes again.

Is that the plot? I just keep making new characters and playing Dragon intro over and over.

Why the fuck would anyone name their game Continue?9876543210?

That's one of the worst game name's I've ever seen.. I guess the dev doesn't like money.

I think it's an elaborate joke to try and break game databases. Do you think it's a coincidence that it hit Steam around the same time the service died?

You guys ready for tonight and tomorrow's snow?

Just keep assuring yourselves it's worth it because we don't get hurricanes, earthquakes, or large-scale tornadoes.

Don't use them up too fast, you'll just run out super fast again.

Stupid limit.
Paradoxically, they less you like the more likes Cheapy allots you.

It's clearly an Arcade reference. I suppose it's lost on today's kids.

Hahaha, there's even a wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continue_(video_gaming)

Yeah, I realized it was a reference, and it is kind of clever.. but it's an awful name. You put references like that in a game, not as the freaking title.

Yeah. I agree, terrible title... right behind AAAaaaaaAAAAAAsomethingsomething

I think it's be cuter to work it together with the Spaceballs countdown joke.

I think everyone got the joke. They just didn't find the cumbersome title to be worth the reference.
And miss the chance to pick on Spoder and bring up old gamer-trauma?

They have articles on everything.

They probably have an article on your post^ by now
Ooh, think that'll increase my profile views? ;)
