[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

How durable is the 3DS cases? cause I was considering it cause I do love Zelda in general but not sure considering I already have a padded power a Nintendo case that holds 24 games already and that the coin cost seem pretty high and also in the pictures it seemed kind of flimsy but it could be just me

And Also how come we never get any of the big statues here in the states like the Zelda Twilight Princess Golden Statue that Nintendo EU got a few years ago? we got luigi yes but it was small compared to the Zelda one which was huge
It's basically a clear DS/3DS case, but the plastic actually feels a lot sturdier than a normal case. Of course, my review is based on the original cases. I'm not sure if the Zelda/AC cases are made any differently.

Do you have the coins? Do you want one? Is there something else you're specifically waiting for?

Also your signature has gone from a fun filled rainbow to slightly disturbing.
I have the coins. I do have about 3 cases (that hold 4 original DS games). I was thinking of saving coins in case we get another surprise like the Luigi statue. I only have 500 points right now though.

Also, why is my siggy disturbing? LOL

They need to hold more cards, 9 per side, so they should be stronger.

Screw it, I'm ordering another AC one, I've already got enough to fill my first case, and I'll be kicking myself if these somehow do manage to go out of stock.

I think I can get by with 580 coins until things reset and I can start working towards platinum for 2015.

Frick yeah! They added cases! That's what I've wanted from the moment I joined CN. Well, that and the charging cradle (which I already got).

In for one of each. Statues be damned.

Got confirmation that both of my case orders are being processed. Hope they go through! Definitely want them more than the charging cradle.

So glad I clicked on this thread despite the mediocre game offerings. Grabbed both styles of the case and am still debating a third. I still have two of the originals, but the the funny thing is I could fill all of these up and then some lol.

If I had more coins registered I would probably grab another Zelda one but I don't want to have to register another 300 coins.

Ugggggh, I am trying to decide on what to do I mean, I have ordered one zelda case (It will be PERFECT for all the cart only DS games I have) but I have at LEAST over 1k in un-redeemed CN codes... The only thing holding me back is I would have to open most of the games, they are still sealed, highlights include the Kirby Special Edition, Fire Emblem Awakening, Skyward Sword (With the music CD), SMTIV LE... and I have lots... lots more. Any ideas? Because the Hat case+ Zelda/AC cases seem to be some of the best rewards available in recent times. I had the same hang up when the luigi statue was available, to open the games for the codes, or not... (But would I end up losing in value by opening some of these games, than I would make up in the value of the reward...)

Keep the games sealed, I'm sure there will be more than enough 3DS cases that you can buy / trade for one on here and keep much more value for the games.

Unless you plan on playing them and don't want to look for a cheaper used option, but even then I would still wait until the next CN year just to guarantee another Plat reward.

Wish I had the coins for a second case.  This is something I will get a ton of use out of.  But I gave my friend my extra codes so he could get a charging cradle when those were coming :(

You think I should get a case, guys?
I could stare at your signature all day. It is mesmerizing.

Got one of each. I really like the Mario and Luigi alternate cover that comes with the Animal Crossing set.
I didn't know it shipped with all of those different covers. I really like that Mario one too. I think I might have to get the Animal Crossing case just for that.

Covers with each of the reversible covers shown.
Awesome. I didn't notice that. I ordered the Animal Crossing case because those mario covers look great. I guess this goes well with the theme I have going. I bought the silver Mario/Luigi 3DS XL and this cool Mario 3DS xl case http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Super-Mario-Universal-Folio-3DS/dp/B00FB6H3OY/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1389951830&sr=8-3&keywords=mario+luigi+red+3ds+xl+case

I'm a CAG, so you know I didn't buy it from some reseller on Amazon. It was only $14.99 total

LOL. Look into his eyes.
I have been for about an hour and 45 minutes. I've noticed a weird side effect. I think my gonads have receded all the way up into my torso somewhere. :whistle2:k

I wouldn't have subscribed to all of those awesome shaving cream fetish websites if I would have known I could have just seen the best video in a gif on your signature. :puke:

Well it IS a new CN year, I still at like 280 away from plat right now. I redeemed like 500 when the Luigi statue appeared, but couldn't bring myself to open up all those games and such. I mean I DO plan to play many of these, and hope to actually keep them. But I mean... with all the different LE's and CE's and Special Editions (My copy of Wind Waker HD is the Limited Edition for example) I have no idea what, in a number of years from now, might be SUPER expensive. I probably have enough codes laying around to get one more though, heck... (I have TWO 3DS XL codes still unredeemed, countless games for the 3DS, Wii, Wii U... F U CLUB NINTENDO GAH!

I know what you're talking about. When Club Nintendo was lowering the point values on a bunch of games, I ended up opening a lot of sealed games just to get to the points. If the point values weren't dropping, I wouldn't have opened them. If they were CE's, I still wouldn't have opened them until I was ready to play them (or perhaps sell them if the resell value is extraordinarily high).

Ah I see, I assumed you already platted for the 2013-2014 year. Then I would go ahead and open up something to get at least that status. The plat reward itself can be (potentially) valuable enough to offset the loss in value for some games.

Like Skyward Sword for example (not the bundle, just the standard edition with the CD), even opened, complete copies are still valuable, regardless if you are going to play them right away or not. If you are thinking years from now, then this is a moot point, most all good 1st party games will be much more valuable sealed (or even VGA graded if you want to go that route...) by then.

Got the Zelda game case. I already have one of those 18 game cases and they are really neat.

And I have about 560 coins expiring this year so I gotta use them on something!

I just decided to cash in some more coins and get the zelda case.  I travel a lot and use my 3DS daily on the train and have been wanting to be able to hold a couple more games.

LOL wow Nintendo is very fast with the response. I sent an email to customer support and 10 minutes later I get an order confirmation in my inbox. They didn't even ask me to send the case back or anything.

Both of my orders (Zelda case and AC case) are still in the "preparing order" phase. I'm a wee bit nervous.
It seems like a lot of Zelda ones shipped out the same day but I don't recall anyone with an AC order reporting it shipped. I'm sure it will be fine like how they shipped the charging cradles by color but still odd.

In my mind, you're the foremost expert of video games and the ordering of video game-related stuff.

Basically, if my orders get cancelled, I'm going to complain to you.

Very expensive case we got guys...
