That's assuming they don't run out of money first. And even then it just underscores how bad Schafer is with money and time management. Sometimes publishers are a good thing… at least they keep developers honest and on track.
I heard they crowbar a bad RPG/strategy game in the second act.

Now you're interested.

I have yet to hear a YouTube game reviewer who didn't sound like someone I want to punch.

Not that anyone cares, but I just beat Deadpool in the hardest difficulty setting. It took me half a day to slog through the last level, and an hour to get through the last fight sequences, but I did it. I BEAT IT! I'm only one achievement away from having them all, but I think it's not possible because I upgraded my weakest weapon and it kills generic mooks almost instantly.

Still.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I can finally go play other games!
You're just making me sad that I didn't buy a Deadpool key before they were $50.

Can't you just start a new game?
Enabler.

Er... What the hell are you talking about?
If I remembered her name I'd tell you. She doesn't work for Double Fine she's one of those eye candy girls that does game/tech news. I want to say it's Veronica something but I'm probably wrong.

And, no, it's not the girl from the Legend of Dawn KS video.

Veronica Belmont?

Because that was the Amnesia Fortnight pitch.

And she's actually pretty good at her job.

If it's any consolation, I sold my spare game + map keys for 10 TF2 keys - about $20.

And today someone showed up offering $40 for the game. Ugh. :p

Anyway, I cleared all the achievements, I even went back and got gold on all the challenge maps. I am -done- with the game. Mostly. I found a lot of unused stuff in its game files... bwahahahahaha.

Unpopular opinion incoming...

Broken Age is a 'casual/mainstream' adventure game made for 'non-gamers.' You know the types that litter things like G4 TV or Spike Video Game Awards, etc? People who wear those awful video game shirts and ply on the trade of gaming because it puts money in their pockets. Like the girl with the big rack that did the documentary for Broken Age… whatshername? I dunno. Essentially got where she is being eye candy. Anyways… Double Fine is a prime example of how a company should NOT be run. Schafer is horrible at budgeting and most of the people there are overpaid (of course because… for some reason… they insist on basing themselves in San Francisco -- still the most expensive/costly area of the US?). Developers like Daedalic and put out better games on a fraction of the budget but they don't get the same publicity because the hipster 'non-gamer' crowd isn't behind them.
I don't even like alot of DF's games, but I can say they have at least consistantly been putting out better than average games for a long time now. They also push to retain their IP and break the traditional rule of publishers screwing over the smaller developers when it comes to any physical/console release.

If anything, they are a good example of how a small/mid sized game developer should be run from a industry standpoint. And let's be fair here, we're talking from an american company perspective. It's unfair to compare operating budgets to a European company.

Hopefully, Capcom will re-release all of the Resident Evil games that are OLDER than RE4 to the PC, as well.
I still own the GameCube games, Resident Evil Remake and Resident Evil Zero. Last year I played them on Dolphin. The before / after between standard definition and 1080p is mind-blowing. LoL.

I will be buying Resident Evil 4 for the fifth time come February (GameCube, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, now Steam). I would love it if Capcom could work something out with Nintendo so that the last actual survival horror RE games (i.e. before the release of 4) could be HD-effied. With all the re-releasing of stuff that Capcom does, its too bad RER and RE0 can't get the same treatment.

I dropped from 205 to 165, but the one thing that rarely gets mentioned is all the new clothes you have to buy or get tailored again. Good grief. Even then, if that's the one drawback it's still completely worth it.
I can relate to this. I was previously 220 and now sit at about 175 with a very different build, and I've had to chuck more or less my entire wardrobe. I guess some people look forward to that point, but my was it a hassle discovering I had all of one pair of rightly fitting pants, and having to stumble around for a bit in some seriously sagging ones. You'd think I had rocks lining my pockets, oh vey!

afterall where is the joy in life if we can't eat something tasty once in a while?
You know, not all healthy foods taste like chopped up weeds and tree bark. I eat a bowl of greek yogurt with pumpkin flax seed granola every day, and to me it's as good a treat as a slice of cake or a plate of cookie, but without the side affects of being largely free of nutritional value.

If it helps you in your goal though, I would agree that limiting your consumption instead of cutting foods out entirely is the better way to go. The problem lies in most people's inability to control themselves, which is also likely the reason they are needing to loose weight in the first place.

Weight loss BS:
Since we're talking about this anyway - I've been trying to lose weight recently after basically paying very little concern to my health my entire life. And honestly - it's not easy. I am basically hungry all the time and it really sucks. But I am sticking with it, trying to eat better. Fast food is out, so are soda and lemonade (we always have lemonade in the house...) and I don't really miss them. But damn do I get hungry in the middle of the day.

My main motivation is just that it sucks not being able to do stuff I want to do. All my biggest hobbies involve sitting down and that's probably not gonna change, but when it comes to things like going to concerts or conventions, I can barely manage because my back, legs and feet start to hurt. I'm 25 now and I ain't getting any younger so I figured it's time to do something about it, or at least try.

Thanks for reading, hope it wasn't TMI. If anybody has any suggestions for dealing with that nagging hunger I'd love to hear it. ;)
Personally oatmeal was what helped me. I eat a cup of it every morning and am always really satisfied afterwords. Mind you I mean actual oatmeal and not the instant garbage. You will likely need to find something you like to mix into it as well, I prefer blueberries or cinnamon in mine. Eating foods high in protein also helps with hunger, such as chicken breasts or fish (depends on the kind of course, I usually go for tilapia).

As for your feet/back/legs hurting, the best way to solve that is likely to stay more active and put on some muscle mass. If you have the time and means putting together a basic resistance training routine would really help, but if nothing else doing regular jogging/running or just walking more in general, you will likely see some improvement.

I have yet to hear a YouTube game reviewer who didn't sound like someone I want to punch.
I think that's more your own violent tendencies than their voice.

That and you've been reading this book too much:

A site I sometimes use is myfitnesspal.com

Makes you track your daily good intake and keeps you honest. You can add friends to your network to sort of guilt each other to keeping to your calories.

Of course only works if you go to the site and log in, which I haven't done in months, but it might be something CAGs might want to do and network.

I actually had to use that to gain weight... Was really easy to use to try to make sure I ate at least 2000 calories a day, for months.

Yeah, it's really to use and I like the database since it has a ton of foods in it already. I believe they have a mobile app too, but I haven't used that. Out of the free services I tried, it was easily my favorite.

It's good for losing, gaining, and maintaining weight.

You know how I lost weight?  I stopped eating when I was hungry or kinda hungry or thinking I might be hungry or bored or depressed or excited or anxious or tired or mad.  And when I did eat I made sure it wasn't crap (literally and figuratively).  Pretty easy after it was all said and done.  Ended up 22% lighter, yet still nearly twenty pounds over the recommended  weight for my height (hint: I'm not tall).  I'm still a far cry from my early 20's where I was working out at least 3 days a week and eating 6K calories and was unable to bulk up, but whatever.

So, yeah, no surprise Broken Age is an overproduced and underwhelming digital storybook that isn't really up to par with most other adventure games on the market. The great irony being that adventure games were supposedly 'dead' which is why people shelled out $3+ million on KS and another $3+ million from Jonathan Blow's venture capitalist initiative, pay pal panhandling, etc. Meanwhile other developers have been making superior adventure games for years without said funding.
I think it's good for all of us that we can have differing opinions, and I can definitely understand some of your concerns and problems with Broken Age (and I suppose other DF games, though I truly enjoyed Psychonauts, Costume Quest and Stacking with little reservation). However, would it be possible to state your opinion, unpopular or not, without making judgment calls on people who likes games you don't personally enjoy? I know you're not personally trying to attack anyone, and maybe you're going to tell me to loosen up, but I enjoy several DF games, and I don't think that makes me a hipster non-gamer.

I will agree that I was surprised and even disappointed with some of the happenings of the DF kickstarter after it made so much money; at the same time, I was genuinely satisfied with the result, other than the fact that I'll have to wait until later this year for the second act.

I don't know if this really counts, but my favorite adventure games seem to be made by Shu Takumi anyway (Phoenix Wright, Ghost Trick).

I used almost only the mobile app. It pulls from the database pretty easily, and saves your commonly eaten foods too. It's mostly good for losing weight, but it was the best app I found for gaining. No other ones I tried let you use it to gain weight at all.

I actually do use that site, even though I'm no longer trying to loose weight (actually slowly trying to gain some back, now I'm regularly working out). I find it's most useful for tracking macros, especially if you're trying to get your protein up. I went a while just trying to keep track of stuff in my head, and it's far too much hassle and you inevitably end up making mistakes in your count.

Would definitely recommend anyone looking to loose weight or who thinks they may be eating too much or too little to start tracking what they eat for a week or two, it's rather enlightening I've found.

For most people yes, it's a fair expectation for them to be accepting of what others think even if they can't agree with it.

Yeah, you should all add me so I can gloat about how much fried food and sugar I eat in six meals a day without gaining any weight.

gimme sum good ol action and platforming, not some old pointy clicky crap. so 1980, get with da times double fine!
Having been consistently underwhelmed by the gameplay in every Double Fine game, Broken Age is their first one I was tentatively looking forward to picking up in a bundle. Their games are charming, cute, and bore me to death. I couldn't even finish Brutal Legend, and i'm pretty sure that game was specifically designed to please me.

I'm sorry Lemmy.

Since I have 350+ days left before I can buy a new game, I am going to start crashing through my catalog of games during my days off.

So here is your chance to pick what games I play next. My catalog. Pick 3. Top 5 vote-getters will top my queue. Oh, and anything with less than 5 hours played is likely to just have been card farmed, and not actually played, so don't let that sway your decisions. Voting ends in 24 hours.
Bastion, Cave Story, Fairy Bloom Freesia

Fairy Bloom Freesia is awesome! It's like solo Smash Bros, except with more depth and a fantastic soundtrack. It also only takes an hour or two to complete the first time, so it's a quick one to knock out of the backlog (although there is a lot more to do after your first playthrough). Reminds me I need to go back and do NG+ finally.

I need to give it an NG++. ;)

This. Who else will guide you into the light? And my comments were limited to Broken Age (though I still stand by the fact that it's a paradigm for that particular malady afflicting the industry). I thought Costume Quest was fine but it should be noted it was mostly made by one woman who has since moved on to Pixar.

People can call Razer overpriced for the name all they want, they still have the best shit on the market, beyond issues here and there that every company has (which are easily covered by excellent warranties). I only had a problem because I live in a humid region. I fucking hate Logitech. Their stuff feels cheap, the ergonomics are crap (in general, their mice are way too fucking big), and they're not really a whole lot cheaper. I've never had a Logitech product I've liked. Hell, there are better mice than Logitech out there under brand names you wouldn't even know offhand.

But hey, if you wanna save twenty bucks thinking you're "smart" for not buying the better brand, go you! Maybe it'll go great with your Dell.

I don't see how being in a humid region would screw up a mouse. I don't know what parts use glue either, aside from the feet which can be replaced..

It screws up a lot of glue and rubber, honestly. If I leave, say, PS2 controllers alone for 6 months or so? I come back and the rubber one the joysticks gets wet and sticky and weird. It's no fun. The part that used glue was a rubber siding to the mouse. It's a glue that's always sticky, you can pull the siding off to get to a screw if you're taking the mouse apart, put it back on, and it'll stay in place just like before.

But like I said, that kinda thing doesn't work well with the humidity in some places. It wasn't a huge deal in the first place (the siding just shifted in place sometimes, since the humidity made the glue a little "damp", not quite as sticky), but it was annoying so I called up support and they sent me a brand new mouse. If it happens again? I get a brand spankin new mouse again. I love it.

And I know, you missed me.

The great irony is he probably bought an Alienware computer.
Probably still on ignore, but nah. You aren't spending twenty bucks extra on an Alienware, you're spending hundreds and getting last year's processor. They're great, reliable systems, but there are better options for less money (like Clevo or MSI).

I know what he means, and I hardly live in what could be called a 'humid region'. I had a Logitech mouse (G9) and over the summer, the rubber on the scroll wheel melted and pretty much just turned to sticky goo. Up until that point though it was a great mouse. As for PS2 controllers - I've found you can fix most of the stickiness by wiping them down a few times with Windex. ;)
